Yes, the trailer showed a lot! But I watched the movie and it was great. If you are interested in romantic movies with some sort of endings then watch it. Do not just watch the trailer and nag about it.

+Jennifer H. this movie is another case of 'White People almost kissing' by Nicholas Sparks.. look it up. Perhaps in 2025 he'll get ahead of himself & adapt a plot based off of Westside Story- have the female lead be half latino if he can't get Selena Gomez to play the part. Nicholas, if you are there, if you hear me, write a story about a single guy or gal not looking to find a romantic partner, who just lives their life independently, without romantic love being part of the story. this author needs to be nominated for, 'My strange addictions' for his compulsion to re-write the same damn story again & again.

There is nothing bad about love stories. Nicholas Sparks is from USA a diverse place, the least he could do is conceptualize romantic partners who are not white, given his prolific stories in this genre. What was previously stated was that there are other themes self love, independence etc available for him to focus on as the main subject other than romance, also.
