Peter is saying I'm a sinful man, and he is realizing it and sorry looking down. Then Jesus says lift your head Fishman, Jesus does not want us to dwell in our past and sinfulness. Satan does! But Jesus, He is the Lifter of our heads, and we need to keep our eyes on Him. ❤

Satan always tries to remind me of my sinful ways and failures. But Jesus reminds me to think of him and the good pure right noble pure excellent and praise worthy things which are because of him in my life. He is always dragging me out of that sinful lake and into His arms. Thank you so much my Savior! I Love you Jesus, I hope to show you more! Amen!!

Without repentance and forgiveness... we would all wallow in our guilt especially when in the presence of the Messiah. Until the coming of John the Baptist... baptism was NOT for the remission of sins and taking on the name of the Messiah... Christ. That was the work that John had to do. To prepare the way of what Christ was going to teach.

There are times when we may feel unworthy... but Jesus says we ARE worthy! He sees what we cannot see. He sees that God isn't finished with us yet! His spiritual presence reminds us to humble ourselves, pray, turn from the ways that are not pleasing to our Father, and then rejoice in His plan for each individual. 🙏❤🙏

Yes Cathy, you are so right.we have to lift our heads and not dwell on the past. We have a NEW identity. We are a NEW creation. We have accepted no, embraced Jesus and what he has done for us. I must say though, that we do need to have remorse for our sins FIRST. We have to be sorry; own our sin, and then, lay it at the feet of Jesus.

Simple things I pick up each watching, thank you for these videos. Something I noticed this morning I didn’t pick up on before: - When Jesus speaks as God, and says, “I Am,” He is standing over Simon (Peter) - When He says to him, “Follow Me,” He lowers himself to the now humbled Simon’s level A simple stance change to go along with the fact that He is God, and He is man at the same time. And if we humble ourselves before Him, He will come down and lift us up.

I think when Christ said "I am" .. it was "I AM" ... with a subtle force, that would have reverbrated in some profound way.

@@JanterOlivas why don’t you explain why you believe Jesus isn’t God.
@JanterOlivas3 жыл бұрын
@@sarahpyke307 I think this requires doing a lot of explanation. But to start, "I and my Father are one." and "... and these three are one." do not refer to their being as one God. The word "one" is used as an adjective to denote "unity" or "in agreement". People ignore the preceding verses before the Son said "I and my Father are one." It's not his divinity or being God He was talking about, the topic is about how they both take care of the church or the people being called into the church. I can go on and on, but I don't think this is the right platform. I am also sorry coz English isn't my first language.
@sarahpyke3073 жыл бұрын
@@JanterOlivas That doesn't seem consistent with John 1. Read John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The chapter goes on to point to Jesus being the Word. Also go look at John 8:58, "Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I AM!" This again points to Jesus being God.

A word about fish. Fishermen went out at night because during the day, fish stayed at the bottom of the lake to keep cool. In the evening, they came to the service, since the temperature had dropped, They could also windbags on the surface of the water to eat. The catch at night was greater, and easier since the fish were closer to the surface. In the film, it portrays a miracle because you would never find so many fish that close to shore in shallow water, particularly in daylight when it heats up.

The way they are constructed, the weights close in around the catch as the main line is yanked upon. There is no need to jump in the water at all. That is not a detail Dallas Jenkins would overlook, so please do not suggest so. God bless.

Yes... there is only one person who has lived upon this earth who was NOT a sinner. We all make mistakes every single day. And these are not all outward signs... but can often be in our thoughts only. It is a constant struggle to choose the right. But thank the Lord that we can be redeemed. We can be forgiven of our sins. Jesus Christ has already taken on the punishment of every sin that has ever been committed and every sin that will ever be committed. He paid that price. The sins that we have all personally committed would have to one day be accounted for and punishment for going against the laws of God... must be rendered. Justice... demands it. And the only way that Justice could ever be satisfied was that every sin was punished for. Not one was missed. Every sin that we commit... Jesus has already been punished for it. Therefore... we need not be punished for our own sins. To be saved from this punishment... there is something we must do. Even though Jesus has already been punished... we can still be punished for our own sins. But it doesn't have to be that way. We can be free from that punishment. Everyone has a choice. Come follow Him... and be saved from the punishment of your sins.

I love the character development, every time I think one is my favorite, there’s another, I just love them all! Peter was already very interesting to me from reading the Bible, before I saw The Chosen. The scene of Peter talking to God, telling how he really feels, is great, because it shows the human conflict of living in this fallen world, the struggles and not understanding why God is allowing certain things to happen. Peter is being himself with God, and then we see “God became flesh” through Jesus, so loving, patient, forgiving and merciful! For Peter and the others to just leave everything and follow Jesus astounds me! What does that look like today? What does this mean practically, but sincerely for each of us to follow Jesus? Like you said Brandon, it doesn’t mean following when it’s convenient. We have so many things that distract us from what is most important! I have thought the enemy has used this, ( not that we don’t let our own sin nature and flesh get in the way, all by ourselves)! Seriously, how can we follow Jesus in our day and time? What does that look like? I use to think laying everything down to follow Jesus, meant something like, being a missionary, going to another country to share Jesus, and help people. Now, I think we could use missionaries coming to the US, instead! “Get use to different!” became a favorite line that the actor representing Jesus said to the disciples, from the first season of “The Chosen.” When they were use to doing things a certain way, but learning from Jesus, his ways were so much different! So, what would different look like to us in our lives now? We’ve certainly seen wrong examples of being a follower of Jesus, from tv evangelist, the pope and well, obvious misrepresentation and falsehood of Jesus teachings and life example. This has caused many who don’t yet know Jesus, to be turned off and not being open to even hearing and looking into who Jesus really is, because they already have preconceived thoughts. So, showing and sharing with people, who Jesus really is, I think where we find ourselves today. We can’t do this on our own. While in the flesh, as a human being, Jesus himself, went off to be alone, to spend time seeking Father God, and Jesus said, he could not do anything on his own, (while in the flesh) only what he saw to do from his Father in Heaven. Jesus promised the disciples that he would send them the Holy Spirit, that would help them, and us as well do the will of our Heavenly Father. As important and busy Jesus was, teaching, healing, dealing with the Pharisees, Jesus still got away to seek his Father in Heaven! This is something that fascinates me about how Jesus dealt with being in the flesh/a human body that gets tired, hungry, and everything else we go through, but Jesus made time realizing how important it was to be spend time with the Father! So, why is this a struggle for (some of us) to do this? Besides many excuses, none good enough, could it be that Jesus knew what was at stake? Our salvation depended on Jesus accomplishing what he came into this world to do! Another thing I’ve thought about lately, wasn’t it when Jesus received the Holy Spirit, that he then began his official ministry? When I think about this, it shows how important it is for us to also have the Holy Spirits help and the same Holy Spirit that helped Jesus while in the flesh, Jesus sends to us, to help us! So, how do we follow Jesus better when we struggle to lay things down, leave things that hinder our walk with him? How do we overcome physical illness and pain? How can we develop more of the characteristics of Jesus, and have his strength in our weakness?
@annelilleberg17233 жыл бұрын
Love your post! You sound like you are really seeking after God! It's not easy, like you said , we have so much battling against us. Just like in Jesus' time, and just like in all of time,....just some different things. I believe God sees our hearts and intentions, and 'honors' that, and helps us as we stumble along. He's encouraging and forgiving and kind and loving.
@ween6593 жыл бұрын
Like he said: surrender. God will take it from there and show you what needs to go, then obey. "If you love me you keep my commandments". Start there. I'm amazed how far the Lord has brought my husband and I in 6 years. I call it the bread crumb method. He led us to have Bible reading and prayer together after breakfast! He brought us into Hebrew Roots so we could obey the 4th commandment. And we keep looking for (and finding) more! We didn't see the Chosen until Oct 2020 and love that they show the Lord's Feasts. Glory to God!

This triggered the memory of 3 people in my family who worked with repairing nets and a rough old Uncle who fished for a living his whole life from Garibaldi, Oregon.

"Don't be afraid" there's something with these words that click my understanding that God knows our venerable situation of fear at all times.

Sitting at the feet of Jesus. It's good to hear your teaching so clear. The three kinds of fish ftom the common to Sabbath and the small sardines. So inclusive.

Thank you for the clarification of the cultural time of Jesus, and the scriptures. I have never watched the series but it looks interesting. I will try to find it and watch from the first episode. 💖✝️

Excellent presentation. I just learned a lot about the chosen ones’, Israel (humanity) drama and solution. Now more than ever we need to surrender to Jesus to overcome the trials to come (no, they’re here now).🙏🙏🙏

Simon in the boat is me. Not so much complaining about the plight of the children of Israel rather my own. This has too often been me in absolute frustration. "What now God? What next? Please don't torment me. Guide me! Lead me! Do not forsake me! ... Oh ya. Be patient and wait on the Lord." Scripture doesn't tell you what job to take or which home to buy or who to marry, etc. You do these things with blind faith that all will go well. When things go badly, as they do, it leaves you frustrated, angry and hopeless.

I happened upon another one of these episodes and it's perfect every single time you include the science you include the timeline everything is in context and you answered all of my questions concerning the different sects and groups we all try when things don't fit
