There are many things about the Catholic Church that are just.. wrong. Jesus says you must be born again to enter the kingdom of Heaven, I'm not sure what that means to Catholics. They also say the the word of the Catholic Church is equal to the Bible, confession.. no man can forgive sins, only Jesus. Mary did not get raptured into heaven either. There's no such thing as purgatory.. to believe that would say the final work on the cross was insignificant. I know it's awhile since your comment, but I hope you did read your Bible again. I wish the catholic church kept The Bible in its original format. The Regular NKJV is easy to read and my favorite.

@@julianaallen8477 this is not the place to reject Catholic teachings you don’t understand or believe. People of all religions are waking up to Jesus with this series. Do you know for a fact that the most precious person in God’s life would not be assumed into Heaven? There were witnesses. And believing in purgatory does not diminish one ounce the sacrifice Jesus made for us. Yes, he forgave our sins but we all continue to sin, it’s human nature. So we must still try not to sin and pray for forgiveness when we do. But all of our sins have left stains on our souls and purgatory is where we go to be cleansed before seeing the face of God. I’m not asking you to believe that, but just to not make public comments on Catholic beliefs because again I ask you, how do you know for sure?

@jemsmom97 where do you find purgatory in the Bible? Jesus said it is finished. We are saved by Grace through faith. Jesus is the mediator between God and man. Not a priest. I'm not bashing Catholic individuals. It's Rome that's the problem, anyway where is purgatory found in the Bible?

@jemsmom97 and I absolutely love The Chosen. I think Dallas is doing a great thing by getting the gospel out there. I wish I never saw the actor who plays Jesus kneeling next to a dead Catholic Saint, but The Chosen is an amazing Christian series.

The "Adonai El Roi" / "The God who sees me" moment between Nicodemus and his wife is brought back a little later in the episode when Jesus walks into Simon and Eden's kitchen and surprises Eden. He says to her that he knows the sacrifice she is making because of Simon's answering His call to "Follow me." Then he says to Eden, "But I SEE YOU - do you understand?" So in that moment, Jesus expressed himself as Adonai El Roi. I'm so impressed with the writing in this series!

I missed that one completely. Did you catch the “Dad Joke” in the wedding scene? When Jesus walked out of what looked like the bathroom he made a comment back into the room as he walked away about Frogs, something like watch out for the Frogs in there or get those Frogs out of there. The Frog joke is a reference to a fart 💨 how a Dad would say they stepped on a Frog LOL!!

I love how Jesus says "You were not present for any of this." Seems so relevant for today. Are people pointing fingers at others right now because of what ancestors here in America did centuries ago? Anger and hatred of groups are being stirred up right now. But Jesus' teaching is not aligned with that.

I prayed it, whispering it into the wind. This series....has made me see my relationship with Jesus in so many ways. I would pray to God and thank him but I never wanted to burden him with my problems....I never wanted him to see my filth or failure. This show has shown me how our relationship is supposed to be and I’m beyond thankful for him to be working through all of you to reach people like me. God bless you all and I can’t wait to see where this journey with God will take us. I’m ready to do Gods will....not sure what that really is but I know I will spread the good news of Jesus with my family and friends more. Many have lost their faith or don’t seem to be in a close relationship with God anymore. So lately I have been bringing him up, asking them how their relationship with God has been and I’m astonished by what I’m hearing. I never knew how much my family needed someone like me to spread Gods goodness. I’m the black sheep in the family so it’s weird for them to hear me speaking so lovingly of him. I don’t try to be brass, I just calmly ask and listen. I remind them that God will always be with them, they just have to ask. I leave it at that but I think In the last two days I helped start move some mountains that God wanted me to move in my family. Remind them who they are and how loved they are. I hope one day to fulfill Gods full will he has in store for me. Again have no idea what that is but I know it’s Good because he is Good.

I was saved when I was a very young child! I remember holding on to the pue for 3 Sundays in a row, I was so terrified to go forward; alone, but desperating needing to meet my Lord! I have prayed this prayer several times, and each time my spirit is renewed! Thank you for this Sermon! You have filled my heart with joy, security for the future with Christ, and such happiness that I could dance here and now and I am in a wheelchair! I watch you each time that I see your reaction! I prayed with you. I've been the only Jew in whatever place I lived. My mother taught me some hebrew when I was in elementry school, buy she had to go to work when my father had to leave the area to find work so she didn't have to continue the lessons. Then years later my son surprised me when he was Bar Mitsva in his 30's. I still live in a town where I'm the only Jew, but I hope to be able to move to Tenissee to be near the MTOI congregation. I'm 72 years old and maybe I wont get to do that, but I love watching The Chosen on my computer and I love watching your teachings as well.( please excuse the spelling)

I received Jesus 40 years ago, but because of the errors I learned from my unbelieving father and the lack of doctrinal teaching given by the churches I've been in- and the errors in understanding that abound in American Christian media- I have spent 40 years searching out just what that means. The Chosen and especially your commentaries have deepened and changed my understanding and surrender to our gentle, but strict! Father. I Subscribed :) I like pointing out to people that we would be amazed at seeing the lame walk, the blind see but the biggest most amazing Miracle of all is someone being Saved!!! If the lame walked that would last how long? 100 years max right but even if it were 1,000 years that they were able to walk after being healed it would be only a single grain of sand on the beach of Eternity!! It’s powerful when we put it in perspective. We serve The Almighty God of all Creation and despite his Power, his Glory and being Timeless he came for us. I am so very thankful he did.

What I love about this show is how they include women as strong important characters. We are represented as part of the fabric, not just a side comment. I walked in the evening down the road on 5th July this year and said to Jesus looking in the sky: Please Lord save me. At that moment I felt like the Holy Ghost was coming into me and I knew, that I am safe in the hands of the Lord. Incredible to explain it in words. I read the Bible and pray for years, but I have to completely surrender my life to Jesus and let everything go and trust him comepletely, believing the Word and not just intellectually affirming. That’s the huge difference between being religious and a follower of Jesus. You depend on Jesus. In a way it is really scary, but you feel so free. Believing means trusting in the Lord.

Hi, @hemsty2 . I'm so glad that you prayed that prayer, and will certainly be praying for you as your receive chemo. May God bring you complete healing! Surrender is definitely a lifelong process. I find that it's something I have to choose every day. With every choice and every action, I reflect "am I surrendering this part of my life to Christ?" Does this allow me to love him and others more? I'm definitely not perfect. But that's part of it, isn't it? We aren't perfect, but we are surrendered to his perfect love and allow him to make us into what we cannot become on our own?

I caught that about the scroll being read 'on its side'! The writing would NEVER go that way! Scrolls contain writing that goes across, as it is unrolled. Otherwise, you'd have to go to the end, rewind the scroll to begin reading the 2nd line, and so forth with each line.

That's a really great catch, Roger. I didn't actually notice that. I'm alluding to the scroll because of the map it's supposed to be depicting, and why the disciples have a big issue with the path Jesus wants them to take.

the episode of nicodemus meeting with Jesus remains the most powerful event in my life this year. howevr looking forward to the whole series. it s such a gift thank you and may God bless you. the jesus this series is portraying is one of mercy and devotion to each of his friends and those who need him.he comes across as a generous empatic and soft hearted soul and a peaceful and people loving spirit. thanks for bringing this out through this series. the world needs to get to know the merciful Jesus so much!

I prayed and everytime its new. 🙏 I am imperfect and am not worthy but my love for Jesus is. But I struggle from attacks everyday and feel very tired. I also cannot find a local church that is authentic to me, i feel judged, unsupported and unworthy as i dont fit into there clicks either they where born into that church or a pastors child you get the picture, there is an overwhelming welcome for a week or 2 and thats it. But Jesus is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow and i continue to love him even if i don't have a church home.
