I wouldn't call Vader a slave. Sith student is a slave in some ways, but Vader had the second position in the Empire after Palpatine, his own Destroyer, his 501 legion. He could overthrow Palpatine if Luke joined him and rule Empire.

And also the part where you mention that Anakin’s always under someone’s foot. That’s the reason in clone wars that he hated Zygerian Slavers or any form of slavery. He was always a slave, since birth, slave of the order and slave to Palpatine.
