Actually, it'd make sense that Obi-Wan would be running from Vader. He's out of practice from hiding, his connection to the force isn't as strong, and he's facing the one person he thought was dead. This is an Obi-Wan who is so completely under-confident, that he's actually breathing hard and looking around nervously. Clone Wars Obi-Wan would've played this much better.

He would make an even more evil order of force users after reading A Practical Guide to Evil | Do Evil Right for Qui-Gon. He thought it was satire and taught Anakin right from wrong. I mean, the reason Qui-Gon tore up the scroll was that it revealed Anakin was always meant to destroy both the Jedi and Sith, so Anakin was kind of doomed to kill everyone he cared about and loved. Plus, the reason Qui-Gon was reluctant in Legends (the True Cannon) to take Obi-Wan was Qui-Gon's prior apprentices died or became Dark Jedi, and he felt he was a failure. Considering he guilted Obi-Wan, a young man who was still a Padawan, to train a young angry child taken from his home is not exactly a good judge of character or consider if one was ready for the position they are thrust upon.

I feel like Anakin was the force's attempt at giving the jedi a final chance to exist as they were since it was possible for anakin to just end the sith, but if the jedi screwed up it would wipe the board clean and let a new light side order replace the old one
