The Choyong LC90 is good on FM but no RDS and internet based clock date

I bought one mainly for internet radio and like it for that purpose. I have really nice XHDATA and Tecsun radios for everything else. Also SDR Play.

I hooked mine up to my stereo speakers and sounds great on FM and Internet. Works perfect that way.

The tecsun pl-680 is a very good sw with internal antenna.

I'm a couple of miles away from VPR, so it's a blow torch here. A friend gave me a tour thru there a few years ago. The place is a palace! It previously was a trailer. It's amazing what you can do with donations. 73 Paul AA1SU

You should educate yourself and know that Public Broadcasting gets almost nothing for taxpayers and runs on grants from companies and donations from listeners.

You did clarify that, and you're right. I guess i just loved the radio and I did do research but didn't want to be let down about it's performance. I'm good with my SW radios, what would you suggest for a good internet radio?

RDS is hit or miss in the US - mostly miss. This is because RDS must be continually maintained by station staff, and they largely don’t have time for this. Most important, don’t set your radio time to automatically update from RDS. Not all stations use this RDS feature. Some will reset to incorrect time. If you do find a station that sets radio time correctly, the radio will likely reset incorrectly when the station is changed.

Gilles I am surprised that my ATS120 has the best RDS of any radio that I had. Too bad your radio doesn’t have RDS. 73!

Radio Data system? It can Display the name of radio station and program type and other information.

RDS stands for radio data service, it has additional information on the radio station and what music or song it’s playing, what type of programming, maybe even ads. A lot of radios have it now but I think they are mostly in the $100 or more (US) price range. A lot of newer car radios have it as well.
