Like Gary Moore that brutal pick attack sounds so cool. I love that he doesn't want another run of the mill guitars you see everywhere

Chris is an amazing player, human, smart and humble. I used to sneak into clubs back in the 80's in RI to see him play in cover bands. Dude could play like this when he was 20 yrs old. What a gift- J

Did you manage to get one of the "Legacy's" like Chris has? If you love Charvel they are the closest to the original 1981Charvel strats you can get. They have the extra wide neck(1-3/4" nut) Rosewood dot inlays, brass side markers, Most had a single Duncan JB antiquity(which is a JB made to be like a JB from the late 70's very early 80's) all brass hardware,Gotoh crown tuners. Pretty basic super strat's but damn do they play like butter and sound incredible!

You can! Find a Charvel "Legacy" used. They show up on ebay and reverb every once in a while. You used to be able to get one used for $1300 but now they are 3K and up. The necks are nothing like the ones on the Charvel's being sold these days.The Legacy's feel and sounds exactly like a old original from 1981. Incredible guitars!
@thebaldshredder2 жыл бұрын
@@Murphy_R9 let me clarify. I wish I was sitting across from Chris, checking out his personal Charvel like Max did in this video. THAT would've been awesome! But yeah, I'm sure those legacy models are insane. I'd love to have one, but not for 3K.

I got to know Impellitteri's music thanks to Ohmura Takayoshi. Ohmura said in an interview that the first CD he bought was Metallica's Black Album, when he was a high school student, and the second one was Impellitteri's Crunch and that changed everything. I don't exactly remember his words for something like this, but he makes it clear that it was a new beginning for him. And I think so too, Crunch is an amazing album. Although I have all the Impellitteri records. God bless you.

In interviews Chris seems to be the nicest guy on earth. I once say a video of him interviewed by a young kid. Chris was so respectful and established an eye to eye conversation without any hierarchy bullshit. As a music-lover I'm kinda proud to have supported Chris (indirectly) by buying ultra-expensive japanese import CDs of him for many years. He is an outstanding musician, an interstellar guitar player and obviously a good guy.

That Charvel is a "Legacy" series. Amazing guitars that were made to replicate the old 1981 Charvel san dimas. They are the closest you can get to a old original. Charvel also made them in the star body shape, They are incredible guitars If you like a super thin/wide neck. They came in red splatter or black splatter, spider web, checkerboard, and a few of the other old original Charvel graphic's.

15:38 That's true! Since 2005 I've been in love with the Dean Splittail. I have two. When I saw Chris's Wicked Maiden video, the guitar looked extremely cool. My Splittails are my favorite guitars of all time, but that's much about it from Dean (with the exception of my Gran Sport Floyd). They messed up with a lot of things, including with you and a friend who plays in a great band who I had the opportunity to meet in a Dean group. He's went out from them because he didn't get their attention how he deserved.
@Murphy_R92 жыл бұрын
To anyone that wants to know more about the Charvel Chris play's in this video google "Charvel Legacy" Grover, Mike Shannon , Todd Krause and Mike Eldred, really nailed the feel,sound and vibe of the Charvel strat from the early 80's. These are as close as you can get to a original one.

Yes picks can be too thick. If your fretting hand cant keep up all the picking speed wont help. Start thinner and work up if needed. A 0.88-1 mm is a perfect starting place so your fretting hand can keep up. Pick against side of index finger and thumb tip picking hand in c shape base of picking hand lightly on the guitar. If need tighter wrist, squeeze pinky almost like a fist, second and third fingers relaxed a little(watch michael angelo batio) then do sweeps and alternate picking paying attn to the tone and pick slant. How you hold the fingers on the picking hand affects the wrist tension of picking hand which affects how much your picking hand moves and that interacts too with pick thickness. 7:40 pay attn to chris comment on his picking. Playing with the amp off can help by highlighting if the notes sound good(Chris hammers the strings and gets lots of noise which is irrelevant when the amp is on).

Please post a link for those picks! I'd like to try them out I use a snarling dog brain pic that is a 42 (green) which is pretty thin for most people... I would love to try out some he was talking about...

you will notice a difference in how your picking and fretting hands interact as it affects the timing. Even a 0.72 mm is vastly different than a 1 mm pick.
