I now understand why he asked me out of seemingly nowhere about my stance on the death sentence. Made a vid re famous Atheists Dawkins, Gervais, Maher, Shapiro & you. I am glad to have watched this, as I stopped watching you too years ago simply because of the snide smart-butt attitude. I am not religious. I can care less what anyone's religion is or is not & all of my Atheist friends (and most my Christian, Jewish, Muslim friends) would do a better job than any of the world leaders & the powerful voices of opposition. I could care less if there is a Heaven or Hell, but that the hell-on-earth stop. I had reason to begin studying the Bible at 15. I am not monetizing or seeking fame or subscribers, but that someone will speak the ancient problem source & nonviolent solution to the politics of racism, fascism, misogyny, homophobia, Antisemitism & wars. I appreciate your tone, your delivery is not snide or condescending. The Bible is not to be literalized. This is why there is no true Atheist opposition to the fake God lovers ('wolves in sheep's clothing') that insist the Bible is the literal word of God. It is the spiritual word about an unseen, All-Good Spirit & Mind we are to exemplify, being Good Carpenters, resolving rising problems without hurting others, no matter our literal rituals or our "I believe" or "I don't believe" words. Wish I had known you at some point when you were studying. I think we would have been good friends. All my Atheist friends had been raised in abusive religiosity, superstition & magical dogma. Some were looked upon as rejects, even rejected by their own families. Most wonderful, open-hearted, loving people. What else really matters in the end? I hope you will consider watching my most-recent upload. Stay well.

This idea that moloch simply is a sacrifice to Yahweh seems like speculation off of a Semitic homophone. How do you account that Leviticus specifically condemns child sacrifice to moloch ? Leviticus 20:2-5 and Jeremiah 32:35 for example. Even if you can’t accept the Bible as legitimate history it’s the clear indigenous belief system of its writers. Are you saying later writers changed it? Or that they ancient Israelites are tryna gas light us into thinking they weren’t down with human sacrifice and there was God Named molek who was a God of their rival tribe the ammonites?

Like the normal response of an atheist is "well I don't believe in demons, I believe humans cause the suffering". Which does not make one immune in any way to a person who thinks they're posessed. Writers really want it both ways with demons, that they can play humans like a fiddle but they're also very unsubtle about being evil, because the audience might get confused about the alignment of the supernatural entity that manipulates others for its own ends if the entity wasn't hamming it up and the world turned spooky about it. Ironically, this need to have an evil character revel in being evil reflects poorly on the producers. One comment on this video notes that they're abusing their staff with cut benefits and union busting, and another comment suspects that they used the demon as a mouthpiece to dogwhistle bigotry. The producers' cruelty is just business as usual to them, as they think a facade of niceness makes what they do not evil.

9 minutes into the video and my screenwriting brain went “what if the psychiatrist was Christian? The film would be so much more compelling.” Like, a lot of psychiatrists and doctors are believers and I can imagine it’d be really difficult for a Christian psychiatrist to hear a patient claim they’re a demon and not know if they’re being manipulative, delusional, or brutally honest. That’s a story I’d be happy to see on screen. But Christianity is only concerned with proselytizing and nothing else.

A psychiatrist and practicing Christian could face a professional/moral quandary of judging between a mentally ill prisoner in need of help vs. evil incarnate who must be rebuked. As for only seeing christians talk about it, that is no surprise, this movie and all the others are targeting them. I am just surprised you aren't talking about how hated these movies are and how the christians will attack you if you even try to comment on what the real message is calling you blasphemous in the process. Like for me the whole movie was about being a soul in between mind and body and giving your vessel to those who implant thoughts via consciousness. Then I go on to tell them my interpretation and they get all butthurt and say that we are our thoughts so that they can go on living in blissful ignorance. they claim to hate the sin and not the sinner yet they dont want to go after their own sin. They could nip it in the bud right here, right now if they wanted to but they cling to that which they know. They do not want to deny the sinful thoughts they experience, and I guess its all fine at the end of the day, I wont pursue fruitless endeavors when this message reaches those its supposed to regardless. and if it only reaches those it is meant to reach, that means all the others dont matter and should be allowed to have what they want because it is their destiny and only they can mold their own fates.

God is all of us and everything and talking about how to conceptualize the fact that we are living and there is some force doing the living... There is only oneness... The further you are from that the more the ego comes into play... So if your ego rejects Christianity (fair point and honestly needed) but also rejects God the Creator, the Sustainer, and the Breath of your lungs, then it is only a matter of time before God (who is in you always and in each one of your cells and in the people around you) starts giving you signs about who He truly Is... He will meet you in the place that You are God (in your secret prayer closet also called your imagination or your thoughts) and He will meet you in the place that you are not God (this physical plane of existence and the world we live in both in your personal life and the world events you learn about as a whole)... And either you run from Him or you accept Him and realize that living life through His lens is actually incredible... Anyone who doesn't believe me, go into your prayer closet and free your inhibitions about who God is with a good old DMT trip... Or if you really want the fear of God, go into your prayer closet on mushrooms... Then try it sober afterwards and realize that each time, you are contacting your realm of existence inside your mind... You can learn that You are everyone and everyone is You, but suddenly the You that you are talking about is not the same being that the ego was referring to while in this physical plane... We are each other... Everything is oneness... How that plays out is the best gift and blessing to be able to witness at least a sliver of...

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." ❤️📖 Our Problem: We all make mistakes, which the Bible calls sin. Sin separates us from God and creates chaos in our lives. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This sin separates us from God and leads to spiritual death. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." God's Solution: Here’s the incredible part: God loves us so much that He sent Jesus, His Son, to rescue us from our sin. Romans 5:8 tells us, 'But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.' Jesus lived a perfect life and willingly died on the cross for our sins. Then He rose from the dead, demonstrating His power over sin and death.🙏✝️ What We Need to Do: God offers us a fresh start and eternal life through Jesus. To receive this gift, we must repent-turn away from our sins, believe in Jesus, and choose to follow Him. Acts 3:19 says, 'Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.' (Romans 10:9 assures us, 'If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.🕊️🙌 Reasons to believe: 1. Countless individuals, including me, have encountered God in deeply personal ways-through answered prayers, supernatural phenomena, miraculous healings, signs, wonders and transformative encounters that defy logical or scientific explanation affirming the existence of a higher power, whom we believe to be God. Furthermore, witnessing demonic activity and the reality of spiritual warfare underscores the existence of a supernatural realm. These experiences not only highlight the battle between good and evil but also demonstrate the necessity of seeking God's protection and love. These experiences often bring a profound sense of awareness, peace, purpose, and assurance of God’s presence and love in their lives.🌟✨ "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10 2. Life Transformation: People from diverse backgrounds and circumstances have experienced radical life changes through faith in Jesus Christ. They’ve overcome deep-seated addictions, healed from emotional wounds, and found renewed hope and direction. Their stories of transformation stand as powerful testimony to the life-changing power of the gospel.🌿🌈 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17 3. Historical Evidence: The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus are supported by substantial historical evidence. Non-Christian sources and early Christian texts corroborate key events, reinforcing the credibility of Jesus’ existence, crucifixion, and the empty tomb. 📜🌍 4. Fulfillment of Prophecies: Jesus fulfilled numerous prophecies from the Old Testament Scriptures that were written centuries before His birth. These prophecies include specific details about His birthplace, lineage, suffering, death, and resurrection. The fulfillment of these prophecies provides compelling evidence of Jesus’ Divine Identity as the Promised Messiah.🌟✝️ 5. Unified Worldview: Faith in God through Jesus Christ provides a holistic and intellectually robust worldview that addresses humanity’s deepest existential questions. It provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the purpose of life, the foundation of moral values, the reality of suffering, and the possibility of forgiveness and redemption. This faith does not require the rejection of facts or reason but rather embraces the integration of historical, philosophical, and experiential evidence into a unified and compelling story of truth, meaning, and hope.🧠💡 6. Transformed communities: Throughout history and even today, communities of believers in Jesus Christ have demonstrated remarkable unity, sacrificial love, and positive societal impact. From charitable works and social justice initiatives to advancements in education and healthcare, the gospel has inspired individuals and communities to live out their faith in tangible ways that benefit society as a whole, reflecting Christ’s teachings in action.🌍❤️ 7. Personal Relationship with God: Beyond mere intellectual belief, faith in Jesus Christ opens the door to a deep, personal connection with God. Through prayer, worship, and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, believers engage in ongoing communion with God. This relationship brings profound spiritual fulfillment, guidance, and an increasing awareness of His presence in their lives. It's not just about knowing about God but experiencing His love and guidance firsthand, shaping a meaningful and transformative journey of faith.🫂❤️🔥 8. The Signs of the Times and the Imminent Return of Jesus Christ: The Bible foretells many signs that will precede the return of Jesus Christ, often referred to as the "end times." In Matthew 24, Jesus Himself spoke of wars, famines, earthquakes, and increased wickedness as signs of the approaching end of this age. Today, we see many of these signs unfolding before our eyes, reminding us that His return is imminent. The Rapture, a moment when believers will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, could happen at any time now, ushering in the 7 year Tribulation-a period of great distress on earth. These events are not meant to inspire fear but to encourage us to be spiritually vigilant, ready, and rooted in our faith. Knowing that Jesus is coming very soon motivates us to live in holiness, share the gospel urgently, and eagerly await the fulfillment of God's promises. The signs we see today serve as a wake-up call to turn our hearts fully to God and to help others do the same, for "the time is near" (Revelation 1:3).🌍⏳✨ Revelation 1:3 states: "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." Simple Prayer of Response: Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me unconditionally and for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die for my sins. I confess that I’ve made mistakes, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again to give me new life. I invite Him into my heart as my Savior and Lord. Please help me to follow You faithfully and to live according to Your will each day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. 🙏✝️ If you prayed this prayer sincerely, congratulations! You’ve begun a wonderful journey with God. Here are some steps you can take to grow in your faith: 1. Find a Church: Look for a local church, where you can learn more about God, worship with others, and build supportive relationships.⛪🤝 2. Read the Bible (YouVersion Bible App): Start reading the Bible regularly to discover more about God’s love, His promises, and how He wants you to live.📖🕊️ 3. Pray: Spend time in prayer every day, talking to God and listening for His guidance and comfort.🙌🌿 4. Connect with Others: Surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage and support you in your spiritual journey.🌟🤗 5. Live Out Your Faith: Seek opportunities to serve others, show kindness, and share God’s love with those around you.🌍❤️ My Note: • I encourage you, your family & friends to pray in Tongues always from your spirit daily. • I encourage you, your family & friends to pray The Chaplet of Divine Mercy & The Holy Rosary from your hearts daily. • Pls don't take all this message lightly. Take it seriously. Become born again, pray always, read the Bible, warn your family & friends, live Holy & Righteous from now on to be ready for the Rapture. • If you've been left behind in the Tribulation, Don't worship the antichrist & Don't take the mark of the beast on ur hand or forehead, they're from the devil & it would send u to hell with them. It's like these types of Christians are from another planet or something the way that they write dialogue. People are always announcing that they are an atheist or that they are a Christian or that they do or do not believe in gods in a way that normal people simply do not... it's so creepy and immediately pulls you out of the story and alerts the audience to the fact that the movie was written by fundamentalist evangelicals who see everything through this peculiar lens. I guess it's a combination of bad writing (they clearly missed the first day of Creative Writing 101: "Show Don't Tell") and having such a profoundly warped and insular worldview that they think this is normal.

The only way you get off on Insanity is if you can be shown that you were completely unaware of the consequences of your actions.
@georgesears9344 ай бұрын
Yup. The only one who might (MIGHT!) have a legitimate case for an insanity plea would be Mad Hatter, because (depending on the writer) he legitimately is completely detached from reality and believes he exists in a fictional world and he believes that what he is doing is just "reminding" the characters of the part they are supposed to be playing with reprogramming hats, and does not comprehend why this is wrong or why free will/agency is something that's important to people. But I can just imagine these writers saying 'We can't just preach at the audience directly, it's too obvious and nobody falls for it any more. We need more subtlety, surprises, put the audience in a position where they feel like they've figured it out themselves. So instead of a preacher lecturing a dumb athiest, we are going to make a DEMON do it instead! I can't believe how smart we are!' Basically they have no form of argument that's not preaching the same shit over and over. So the only possible change they can make is to have the preaching come from the 'wrong' source. It's so creatively bankrupt... but they do not know of any other way to talk to unbelievers. In the end, this movie isn't supposed to persuade anyone, it's made so christians can pay their money and feel extremely smug about being on the right side of this ludicrous story. It's made so parents of gay or trans or atheist children can tell those children that 'this film will change your mind, you just have to watch it!'. It's all embarassingly superficial.

Is it just because it's a surgery?
@rainpooper70884 ай бұрын
@willjapheth23789 Nice loaded questions, but you do know abortion's not an appendix removal, right? Like, not even close. Oftentimes there isn't even any surgery involved, it's just pills that make you cramp and bleed for hours on end until all uterine tissue has been passed, as you would during a natural abortion, more commonly known as a miscarriage, which I'm sure you would agree IS traumatic. In fact, anything involving pregnancy has the potential to be inherently traumatic for women due to the physical and hormonal changes involved in pregnancy, no matter whether she chooses to have the baby or not. That's why medical care and support from loved ones are important. Any man worth his salt would emotionally and physically support his women if he knows she's going to be sick for any reason, especially anything involving a pregnancy he had a part in causing. You'd think an educated psychologist like the movie's protagonist who actively supported her getting the abortion would know the psychological value of supporting his girlfriend in person.

They might just not be healthy enough, be in a good enough situation, ect, to provide for the child. They can be fully sad about not being able to carry the child to term. 4:Pregnancy also causes emotional imbalance on its own, and whilst earlier on its not as bad, combined with the stress of surgery and any other forces, it can make a wreck out of people. What's fascinating is that the filmmakers use the demon not as an important, cunning character, but as an excuse to be cruel to their opponents. While it would be smarter of Nefarious to congratulate and encourage atheism, since it helps him in his immediate goal, apparently it was just too tempting for the writers to have use a demon to berate and insult atheism even if it doesn't totally make sense. The function of the demon, it seems, is to be a meaner Christian without any pretense or hesitation. Nefarious calls atheists 'trash' and insults their intelligence. He says what a Christian might want to say but can't because it looks bad to be so unreservedly horrible. It's almost as if the purpose of *any* demon is to reinforce a Christian moral paradigm...

these types of movies always fail because they have no idea how atheists think. also they have no idea how to be skeptical and criticise their own beliefs, you can't write a convincing script if all your dialogue is tilted to the beliefs of one side - as always they are preaching to the converted, they have no way to connect to the un-converted.

Yes, but that assumes a genuine motivation by those involved to convert the unconverted. Like Jehovah's Witnesses preaching at the door of their neighbours, the point isn't the slim chance of converting the neighbours - it's about instilling the in-group of the existing Jehovah's Witnesses. Elder JWs send out their young people to spread the word, so they get to see people "deny god, be stubborn and slam the door in their faces!" It's all in service of keeping the young repeating their doctrine, and from seeing any good in the out-group. This whole project was definitely Steve Deace's argument-in-the-shower moment to make himself feel good fighting an atheist strawman. It isn't about appealing to non-believers. Like, how do you explain so many different species if the animals of eden were "perfect" and "didn't need change"?

@@umrayquazashinyapareceu1672 if you're christian can you remind god he can't just go around killing people and burning them alive for eternity just because they disagree with him, we have rights. and while you're at it, cold fusion, if god isn't going to do anything about putin (heart attack or something that looks natural), if he's not going to stop the war, (when did he ever stop a war) then the least he can do is hint as to how to get cold fusion working - has he seen my electricity bills since the ukraine debacle started, there's a love eh. don't be pushy though, god has a short fuse.

I can't believe the main character in this horror movie is named after one of the guys from Whose Line Is It Anyway.

Appreciate your comments re working with those with mental illnesses. The implication in the film that a patient couldn't possible know their diagnosis descriptions in DSM/ ICD or whatever is demeaning. Just like physical illnesses - if you are chronically affected you absolutely learn about it. And part of that is the need to advocate for yourself among non specialists, as well as being able to explain your own experience - regardless if it fits the textbook template.

It’s completely bizarre to me that the writers chose a demon as the mouthpiece for their Christian propaganda. I’m honestly stunned 😶
