Elizabeth was great! What a gentle, loving spirit she has. I'm so appreciative of what she had to share and you gained a new sub today! I used to own a coffeehouse in the gay part of my town and most of my customers were gay. Because they'd come every day, I'd get to know them and hear their stories and so many of them were truly heartbreaking. They'd fallen into the lifestyle and didn't know how to get out or they'd become a Christian and the "family" (gay community) had instantly rejected them or they were dying of AIDS-related illness or they'd contracted HIV from a man in the community who made it his goal to infect as many men as possible. I mean ..... it was heavy. Really heavy. After a while, I realized they just needed someone to talk to who felt "safe" and, frankly, who was outside of that community because it's a pretty gossipy community. So maybe the first step is to be willing -- as Elizabeth said -- to hear their stories and show compassion and be a safe place. (Although I kind of hate that phrase now but you know what I mean. Hold their stories in confidence.) You can show compassion for someone's pain without endorsing their sin. Jesus did that all the time.

@@cweditor Please don't exaggerate. This is a Christian video. She hasn't even gone to an LG87+ video to say this, and there's no forcefulness involved. Even if our English definition of 'pride' may have some uses that the original biblical word did not, taking 'pride' in something God is against can never be a good thing.

@@claudiatheobald9928 I'm under the impression that the English word for 'pride' doesn't have all the same nuances as the the biblical one used for the sin. As a teacher, I also see that the most current movement brings a sense of belonging to the youth. We have so many young people who feel left out, feel sad, and utterly see how accepting this movement is that they are drawn to it. We have to pray for our youth so that they start believing in the identity that they have in God. We need to listen to them and make them feel that they can open up to parents and leaders whenever they are struggling.

Speaking also from the perspective of an educator and a gay man, I have become painfully aware of an initially shocking phenomenon that occurs when students who are experiencing these feelings of non-belonging and affiliate with the LGBT+ community in an attempt to find that sense of belonging within the confounds of the "community" are ultimately adopting beliefs or learned behaviors that may in that specific group or sect provide them with some form of a sense of belonging but what it is potentially simultaneously doing is ostracizing them from the familiar bonds of previously established communities that are far deeper rooted and perhaps more profound than relationships that are only formed by a shared longing to feel included and not the specific beliefs or culture of the LGBT+ community specifically when it comes to sexuality. I see students latch on to these misguided fads or fetishes believing that by accepting them they have found community but if you dig past the surface you'll often find that they don't truly hold the same desires or beliefs but will subconsciously accept them as their own because they so crave that sense of belonging but it is ultimately just a superficial construct that they'll often drift from with age then they're right back to feeling like they don't belong.

I think that it is important to tell Christians that God wants them to repent from sin, and also to those who are curious about our faith. However, we should not expect those who are completely removed from Christianity to follow the Bible, as the concept of repentance from sin is likely not considered relevant or important to them. The most we can do for them is to pray for them and to show them love and compassion, without being in support of their sins. So, I think mentioning the word "sin" may or may not be appropriate depending on if they claim to follow the Bible or not, as people in the church and people outside the church live by very different moral compasses.

So appreciate this conversation and Elizabeth's testimony. I actually feel sympathy for the individuals that have been boondoggled into the idea that this is their identity. And while I know not in every instance, there are many that land there because of some kind of molestation, abuse or trauma when they were young and they were vulnerable in the stage of understanding who they are. I also feel sympathy because I think many, even intelligent people, get swept along by a movement, especially now, and you are almost distrusted if you dont adopt all of their dogma (the rainbow group dogma). I think they want to identify with this powerful movement but are often victims of it just like all the rest of the culture is. I also admit that it can be hard for me to separate the individual from the movement when they promote it. I do get angry and distressed because children and corrupting their minds and heart seems to be a top priority in this movement. And that is highly charged for me.

I dated women for 3 years. My life devolved from fast paced and "fun" to being a dark depressed lonely place. In 2020 i began begging God's forgiveness, praying and intensely seeking a relationship. Yes just open your bible in which you are admonished to be proud in the knowledge of the LOrd or in your faith or in faithfulness. In Greek there are different words that mean pride in english. So in English we must look to context or add some additional words to specify when we don't mean pride as a rightful satisfaction and confidence and willingness to be known for having a solid character or overcoming adversity and so on. We have some words that help us clarify when we mean the dangerous and shameful forms of pride. These words include Hubris, or pompous, or we specify in some way that a person's attitude is a kind of misplaced and ill informed self opinion grounded in the meaningless or shameful. To point to the use of the word Pride as an example of how gay people flaunt the fact that they hold and encourage an attitude that God condemns just says that you are superficial and not verry reflective in your approach to reading your own sacred texts and the use of your native language or that you are moved by popular expressions and statements that seal your membership to a certain group of ideologically aligned persons and let such political acts of self identification determine how you use your words rather than ruling your toung and subjecting it to the demands of truth and wisdom or engaging in plain speech in which yes is yes and no is no and you do not invoke God's will for your own vein purposes. It is a criticism I have of the many who are making these arguments. I just wrote something here. I do not mean to attack you personally but to make the point. I make similarly superficial arguments most people probably do at points but when the mem begins to carve its wisdom out on real people living in this world we need to rise to higher standards of truth.

The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh." 17But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. 18Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

As the number of detransitioners taking lawsuits grows, and the professionals who coerced vulnerable people into destroying their bodies and minds, surgically and medically get held accountable, this ideology will crumble and fall. The brave people speaking out and helping those detransitioners find justice, are doing God's work. The recent publications of the Wpath files and The Cass Review are waking and shaking the world up. The awakening is happening. The pastor has many very relevant points re the dark side of the rainbow. Parents need to protect and educate their children during this month, not embrace and celebrate. The beautiful rainbow and the 'fun'' colours/balloons/bunting has become the long grass hiding the snakes.

I'm sorry but there will be no moral revolution without repentance and turning from sin. How do we have 'reconciliation' month when James tells us that friendship with the world is enmity with God!?!!? What are we reconciling about? Jesus said, " Whoever believes in me is not condemned but whoever does not believe is condemned already." Paul adjures us to ABHOR what is evil and HOLD FAST to what is good. These are people desperately in need of the understanding that they are separated from their Creator and facing judgement unless they repent and believe. This message needs to be shared because of a love and concern for their condition but also an understanding that their situation is dire; truly frightening. Love will tell the truth and show the way to a better future and reconciliation with their Creator.

It is interesting - I feel that most of the Christian community look at the LGBTQ folks as those we are at "war" with and it creates a "defense" atmosphere on both sides. I remember feeling this way in the past, a need to defend Christianity, but now the Lord has given me a heart of empathy toward the LGBTQ community and their need to know Him as Savior too. This is sooooo GOOD! The Lord delivered me from sin long ago yet I wasn't walking in deliverance and was a liar, thief, idolater, a practicing lesbian of more than 32 years, a hypocrite, and anything else you can think of. On 04/14/2024 The Lord came to me, called me, delivered me, counseled me, instructed me, guided me, girded me, affirmed me in Him, esteemed me, commissioned me, and commanded me to live Holy! I surrendered my life to Him completely and said YES to Him. My lesbian relationship of six years was dissolved and The Lord took care of all involved and impacted for His Glory and Purpose! The spiritual layers to the physical layers The Lord addresses within deliverance and conversion from sin to Holiness is AMAZING! It's painful, initially, but necessary and BEAUTIFUL! He's right there through it all and He doesn't perform magic or unnecessarily exert His diety and control over us rather He overcomes via His Love, Power, and humanity in the person of Jesus Christ in the Trinity! I'm not concerned with my sexual identity or desires being converted as she said rather learning how to Love and serve The Lord better by His direct and personal guidance! To GOD BE THE GLORY ❤🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

Yes it is hard to heal, but it is a necessary. Christens should always lift them in prayer, God will do the rest!! We have to make sure we promote spiritual Truth, not Sympathy.

Honest question. If someone is married and one of them commits adultery but the couple comes together again. They may have divorced then remarried again but I guess they would not even need to formally divorce by our legal rules. Would our response as Christians be to hold them in prayer and hold them to the demand of healing and repentance? And by that I mean that they would no longer share a bed and dissolve their marriage and remain single or take a new spouse. Or would we consider them right with God having confronted the betrayal and restored their commitment to each other?

The Bible addresses pride as a sin numerous times across both the Old and New Testaments. While it doesn’t provide a specific count, the theme of pride being sinful is consistently emphasized. Here are some key references where pride is highlighted as a sin: 1. Proverbs 8:13 - “To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.” 2. Proverbs 11:2 - “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” 3. Proverbs 16:18 - “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” 4. Proverbs 18:12 - “Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.” 5. Proverbs 21:4 - “Haughty eyes and a proud heart-the unplowed field of the wicked-produce sin.” 6. Isaiah 2:12 - “The Lord Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled).” 7. Isaiah 23:9 - “The Lord Almighty planned it, to bring down her pride in all her splendor and to humble all who are renowned on the earth.” 8. James 4:6 - “But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.’” 9. 1 Peter 5:5 - “In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.’”

We need to address Easter vs Resurrection Day, Ramadan, Lint, daily glorification of shacking up, fornication, sex outside of marriage between a Man and Woman, Unequally yoked marriages, and so many other "tolerated sin" the same.
