One of the most underrated songs ever. This and “ideal world” really did stop us and say when? Question is 30 years later and we still have people dying, not enough to eat, so I think the question has to be not when, but how? How are we going to actually achieve this? A few songs like this shaped my childhood and my character. Ideal world, harvest for the world and From a distance to name just a few… Words, music, has the ability to transcend through everything and anything. It can touch any heart even the most hardened…. But do we actually do anything when it does? ❤❤❤

Very underrated band, should of gained so much more credit and success. This song drives home such a powerful message of plight, poverty, greed and lies. The song is delivered with excellent lead vocals from Gary, and brilliant backing vocals from Roger. The music arrangement is absolutely outstanding with the very exceptional bass line running through it. They were a different class to most music back then, and still are today. Not many bands can take an song and make it better than the original, the Christians did this with ease. I've seen them live twice, and they reproduce all of their songs just as good live as the studio versions. True artists, not manufactured. 👍😎

Some lyrics... Harvest for the world All babies together Everyone a seed Half of us are satisfied Half of us in need Love's bountiful in us Tarnished by our greed Oh, when will there be A harvest for the world Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Hey A nation of plenty So concerned with gain As the seasons come and go Greater grows the pain And far too many Feeling the strain Oh, when will there be A harvest for the world Yeah, yeah Gather every man Gather every woman Celebrate your lives Give thanks for your children (No) Gather everyone (Gather everyone) Gather all together (Gather all together) Overlooking none (Overlooking none) Hoping life gets better for the world Yeah, yeah, yeah Dress me up for battle When all I want is peace Those of us who pay the price Come home with the least And nation after nation Turning into beasts Oh, when will there be A harvest for the world Yeah, hey When will there be I want to know now, now When will there be a harvest {Harvest for the world} When will there be a harvest {Harvest for the world}

My two favorite parts to this video are: 1. The five combines thrashing out wheat. This denotes an all-out concerted effort to stamp out hunger-“Long as the fields are puttin’ we’re puttin’ in!” The very favorite part is seeing the mother raising her wee one up to the light. Just makes me bawl. It’s so beautiful!
