It would be good if you had an image of a cue ball on screen with a dot on it showing where you are striking every shot. Very useful to know for beginners like myself.

He has done a video about this issue, and how he can't tell you where to strike as everyone has varying angles of how their cue is to the table (nearly parallel or pointing down more). So it would only apply to you if you have the same technique as Michael.

I have had some 50+ breaks recently but lack the confidence to believe I can do them regularly. In part, this is down to not being brilliant at identifying areas where there are back up insurance balls in case positioning on the preferred option goes wrong. Hearing the thoughts of a pro on how best to go about things to mitigate against such errors is a huge help. Thank you so much.

Really great watch, it's so valuable to see the levels of spin, very rarely full spin which I do far to often

regardless of the angle people hold their cues (as mentioned in a comment earlier), it would still really help showing where you are hitting the cue ball as to just describing it, steve barton shows it and it helps a lot, we can also try to imitate the angle you are holding the cue, even if you had a large round picture on the wall to represent a cue ball with a movable dot to show where you are striking would be ok. most of us amateurs who want to improve would appreciate it i believe.

Probably the wrong choice but after you'd potted that last red and not got position on the black, I would've attempted a slow blue in the yellow pocket. My thinking being if it missed it would hopefully block the yellow for my opponent and if it went in I'd be on the yellow into the same pocket.

Wrong side of middle 🤢😂😂. Nice routine that I still can't get passed 30 on that Eiffel Tower routine the cue ball just sticks when you go into the pack of the black. That yellow to green was awesome 👏 can't do that on the table I play on the cloth is like a carpet now you'd do well to get level with the bulk line it's that slow. #itsthetableoffdeath

The balls go in perfectly using a trace of helping side but mostly i miss the pot by over compensating or allowing for the deflection & sometimes don’t allow for it as you say it hardly deflects. How to know how much to adjust?

I'm the same! I then wonder if it's how "hard" I'm hitting. But shouldn't be hitting hard anyway. Some days they jaw but drop, cause of the right pace. But I'm looking to hit them in the middle of the pocket, which I struggle with..

Nicely explained the thought process , us amateurs would play the probable easy shots ,,,but with a little more risk it can pay off better

Honestly want to know Why would you add right spin on the black at 2:20 ? Does it help just on potting the black ?
@Charlie.c19
@Charlie.c19 12 күн бұрын
@washurhandnow1347 all the top pros do this on angled pots: if it's a left cut, they put a TRACE (half a tip) of right spin on. If right cut, trace of left. It means that you don't accidentally put the wrong side on, as this 'traps' the cue ball. But helping side means the ball is spinning in the direction it is travelling in as it comes off the object ball. The concept is called "helping side". Michael has lots of videos on this, check them out! Just type in "helping side michael holt". It has taken me from 40-60 breaks in the lineup at best, to quite a few 100s in a matter of months.

I just watch for the commentary. The tips are a bonus but to be fair, I'm way too shit to be playing some of these positional shots. Don't know if you read much of these comments but yeah, you have pretty bloody funny commentary. It would be great doing this kind of commentary in a live professional snooker match! I don't think anyone has ever done that before. Not that you'd be allowed to... You have some strange looking thongs though. I don't think I've seen a pair like that here in Australia.
