in pokemon diamond after the profesor introduction, a TV channel speaks of the red Gyarados sighting during the events of Gold/Silver, I believe the gen 4 games start just after that Gyarados event in Gold/Silver

Actually, Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee are set many years after Red Blue Green and Yellow, possibly around the time of Black and White. I know this because Blue actually states he hasn't been in Kanto for many years at one point, which completely ruins the idea of the games being shortly after the originals.

This makes sense because Red and Blue's appearance in the Gen 7 look like adult males in their mid-late 20s suggesting it was around 5 years after Lets Go appose to the 20 years after RGBY.

The problem is the fact we face Team Rocket and the exact same locations than in Red, blue & Yellow. So Lets' go evee and pikachu cannot be at the same time. Giovanni cannot be defeated by Red then by us. When Red ends the Team Rocket this leads to the event in Gold and Silver. But without a remake of Gold Silver Crystal, what we lived in Let's go ends there in Kanto. Same story but placing the characters of Red, Blue & Green in a different journey. :|

@worldsofwonders That's one of the issues I have. Now, if it was someone else in charge of Team Rocket instead of Giovanni, I would let it slide. Also have the TV Tower in Lavender Town instead of the Pokemon Tower.

It happens in a different universe it takes place in the mega evolution universe so red and blue never encountered team rocket I thinks it’s even stated in game that the Pokédex didn’t exist when blue was just starting out after he sees the player characters Pokédex so it definitely takes place at a different time in the mega universe than rbg and fr/lg did in the regular universe as red and blue get a Pokédex in rbg and fr/lg

@@MsMonkeyKid So if LGPE are set further forward than the originals, does this mean ORAS is set around the same time as LGPE too? But does this also mean that the events in Johto & BDSP are still set 3 years after LGPE as well? Also one thing people are forgetting is that there was something else introduced in X&Y that wasn't Mega Evolution, it was the Fairy type. And since then, they've retconned the Fairy type into all the remakes we've had over the last 10 years, whereas mega evos haven't. Therefore I think it should be called the Fairy timeline instead.

Heres how I typically saw it (Including confirmed gaps) 1996: Kanto and Hoenn 1999: Johto and Sinnoh 2006: Unova 1 (Having it be 7 years after Johto and Sinnoh would place it at 10 years from Kanto and Hoenn, which makes sense considering it was made as a soft reboot of the original) 2008: Unova 2 and Kalos 2010: Alola 2013: Galar 2016: Paldea (20 Years since Kanto)

Pokémon Legends takes place after 1826, as that was the period when the Photographic Camera was invented.

It’s also worth noting that the game must take place around 1868 as this was the Colonization of Hokkaido/Ezo (the region where Sinnoh/Hisui was based off) during the Meiji Era.

it might have similarities with a certain time period but it doesn’t mean it has to be from the time period for all we know this could be over a thousand years ago. Pokémon doesn’t take place on earth after all. They’ve made several comments on that over the years they said it would limit them to much to have the setting be on earth

Tbh I placed ScarVio in 2027 simply because of Lacey, Clay doesn't have a daughter when we meet him, if Lacey is about 15 years old then that gives us a 15 year timeskip from like 2012 to 2027

It's entirely possible Clay had a daughter during B/W and we just didn't see her. We didn't see Koga's daughter in the original RBY either.

I think that oras is around the same time as X&Y, or a little after because of the megas. Mega evolution is first discovered in Kalos

Actually it’s never actually stated which occurred first in game both games claim their region experienced mega evolution first so it’s anyone’s guess which one was first rayqueza or lucario

I think that Kalos was first considering the AW was used a very long time ago. Scientists in the games believe that the mega stones were actually regular asteroids that got hit by the beam, which then fell to Earth. To fit ORAS in that timeline, I would say that since gen 3's SRE, mega stones were discovered in Hoenn soon after or during the events of X/Y and soon after infinity energy.

Its mentioned in ORAS that the games with Mega Evolutions are a completely different timeline. So in the RSE timeline the Kalos there would have no mega evolution. Which also means that in the ORAS and XY timeline most likely Kanto Johto Sinnoh Unova all have megas. Actually come to think of it, its even further confirmed in Alola. Sun and Moon is the non mega timeline while Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are the mega timeline,

The games are parallel to the Pokémon Adventures manga, you get the gist of the timeline from that, also Let’s Go Pikachu and Evee takes place after RBGY. The game literally says it takes place either a year or two after Red and Blue went on their journey

Red is 11 in RBY/FRLG, which take place in 1996, so Red chronologically was born in 1985, if Sun & Moon takes place in 2015, so Red is 30 in SM

My theory is that the games take place on a sliding timeline, like the marvel comics (i.e: any 616 marvel comic you pick up, is (pretty much 99% of the time) set in its release year, but no matter what year it was released in, the Fantastic Four got their powers 11 years prior, even if you grab a comic from 11 years ago, or 15, or 20, they got their powers 11 years before that comic). I think every game takes place in the year it was released, but also on this (the type you show in the video) kind of timeline. Obviously PLA is in the distant past, but then, every game takes place in its release year. RGBY in 1996/FRLG in 2004, at the same time as RSE in 2002/ORAS in 2014, at the same time as LGPE 2018. Then GSC in 1999/HGSS in 2010, shortly before DPPt in 2008/BDSP in 2021. Then BW in 2010, two years before B2W2 in 2012, at the same time as XY in 2013. Then SM in 2016/USUM in 2017. Then SWSH and IoA in 2019, before CT 2020. Then SV and TM in 2022, before ID in 2023. Pretty much games are set in their release year, but events can happen at the same time across multiple years, allowing for Pokeblocks to require 4 people to make them 10 years before ORAS, but they currently need 4 people to make in RSE, which is set at the same time. Sorry if it got confusing to read.

Then they would not say that the language of Unown is a very ancient language that they don't understand... Unowns look like our modern letters. So it would most likely be that the Pokemon universe is happening in the very far away future from now. Like there was some kind of conlifc that wiped out everything and most people and then a new civilization started to live on the planet with Pokemon. Not even mentioning that some Pokemon are also ancient and came back from fossils etc.

The timelines are actually as follows, due to references in games that make setting different games on different timelines problematic. Timeline 1 (The OG timeline) - Gen 1 (Red and Blue), Gen 2 (Gold and Silver) Gen 3 (Ruby and Sapphire), Gen 4 (Diamond and Pearl), Gen 5 (Black and White), Gen 6 (X and Y) Gen 7 (Sun and Moon), Gen 8 (Sword and Shield) Gen 9 (Scarlet and Violet) Timeline 2 (Third Versions timeline) - Gen 1 (Yellow), Gen 2 (Crystal), Gen 3 (Emerald), Gen 4 (Platinum, Gen 5 (Black and White 2), Gen 7 (Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon) Timeline 3 (Remake timeline) - Gen 1 (FireRed/Leafgreen) Gen 2 (Heartgold/Soulsilver) Gen 3 (Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire) Gen 4 (Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl) Timeline 4 (Lets Go Timeline) - Gen 1 (Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee) Like, the appearance of Colress makes it problematic to put Sun and Moon and Ultra Sun and Moon not on the same timeline as Black and White/Black and White 2 (As he isn't confirmed as faller). Which then is problematic for Kalos as well, since Sina and Dexio appear in those games as well and reference the events of Kalos, meaning they need to be on the same timeline too, which in turn is also problematic for Galar, since in Sun and Moon, we get a mention of Power Spots, but in Galar itself we also get a gift Type: Null and Scarlet and Violet are on the same timeline as Galar as well, since Sonia's book makes an appearance, but also the Mega Evolution reference with Paradox Salamence. Not to speak about the references to Clay in the Indigo Disk DLC.
