Dude the foreign comments in this video are cracking me up, getting hate for you “ruining the rocks” and it being faked somehow. 🤣🤣🤣 like they literally can’t comprehend what they’re watching. This is what we do in the states, it’s common out west. You take trucks and ATVs off-roading and crawling and mudding. It’s a thing lol, a hobby. I got a 23 long bed double cab, enjoyed seeing someone with a similar truck off-roading. Super fun trucks to build, wanting to get mine tuned soon. Keep having fun and enjoy! Maybe I’ll see you in Moab on the trails one day!

Junk compared to Gen2
@peterhoma63852 жыл бұрын
I have owned 1991 Toyota truck 4x4 with 22RE motor I’ve also owned , Gen1 and gen2 Tacomas & now own A 2021 Gen3 TRD OR 4x4 there is nothing “junk” about it as a matter of fact it’s the best built Tacoma to date , hardware shared with Hilux like rear axle and diff which is 8.75 inch vs the little 8 inch diff you get in gen2 Tacoma , transfer case , hubs, spindles etc. it’s smoother than Gen2 , more refined I’m getting 23-24 mpg with this Gen3 and that with a 32inch tall tire vs 18-19 mpg I use to get with Gen2 , much quieter , way better interior , Gen2 came with a 3.73 rears Gen3 comes with 3.91 rears , MTS, Crawl Control which has saved my ass a few times in some real bad off road situations. I don’t see how Gen3 is junk ? I live in the hills the BS about gear hunting that few people complain about I haven’t experienced any of that just like any automatic trans , I mean any automatic trans will down shift going up hills , not sure what the hype is all about , I test drove the canyon with 8 spd and ranger with the 10 spd I found they down shift more gears than the Tacoma did in the hills , ranger would down shift sometimes 3-4 gears , same with canyon , where the Tacoma down shifted 1 gear and it does hold gears in the hills well I drive and tow in the hills daily !
@beinghuman32252 жыл бұрын
@@peterhoma6385 similar ownership different experience I guess. I've had a 72 with 20R MT, 74 with 22R MT, 09 with 4.0 AT and now an 18 with 3.5 AT. Our milage with 2nd and 3rd is reversed in my case. My (factory) 09 diff would lock like a Detroit style, in 2 or 4WD. Having to be in 4L with the 18 is useless. I'm in ND an we usually get 8 months of winter, were 2WD and diff lock would preform great at stop signs while saving gas and wear n tear. I experience the down shifting when I have anything in tow, if I try to get above 65mph. In fact I bought my 19 camper purposely at half the rated tounge and pull weight, just cause I'm safety and preventive maintenance conscious. Unless I'm downhill with tail wind she'll constantly shift 3,4,3,4. I even had the transmission shift memory reset at dealership, didn't help. Sure I could seek a tune like OV er whatever they currently have, but that's ridiculous. I guess in the end we all got different experiences n perspectives. You know, before my 72 Hilux I was a chevy guy and even though this 18 is a pile compared to my 09, I'll never go back. Tells ya something bout chevy from my perspective eh. Glad your having goodluck with yours. I will recommend my bumper and tires though. Dude this is crazy! Im a brand new taco owner (23 SR5 V6 4x4) and a first time truck owner. Ive always been into canyon carving with sports cars but my brother in law is a huge off roader (jeep creep). Where do i start to build up the tacos capabilities (suspension? Wheels/tires?) for doing stuff like this? And i know im not experienced so i have to work on that but experience can only take you so far if you dont have the right build at some point.
@oldrcrich Жыл бұрын
Congrats on the new truck! It really is a combination of all. It always nice to start with tires and wheels, maybe a leveling kit to get started and progress from there. I've had other Tacoma's in the past and knew what i wanted. I would suggest a locker for the rear for sure. Even on stock tires and height, having a rear locker makes a huge difference. Good luck on your build, this crawling stuff is fun.
