You're 100% correct. I meant to say the East German government. Had lines in about the SS and Stasi and edited them together just before I recorded and then did the thing where you just hear it a dozen times without even thinking a about it. For those who didn't know and/or didn't catch the mistake: Stasi = Secret police under the socialist German Democratic Republic. Schutzstaffel and Gestapo were the Nazi equivalent. Same idea, though.
@goldsilvervscrisiscollapse43202 жыл бұрын
@@FEEonline I agree completely... Apart from your conclusion that just because we KNOW the CIA is evil, it's better than the other agencies. It is unfortunate that you have this American exceptionalism bias throughout your videos. As the premier intelligence service, the CIA is responsible for counter intelligence and would have at least made allegations about atrocities committed by other agencies had they the proof. That you had to refer to Soviet gulags as an example of evil deeds by modern day countries is a bit... Misleading. In fact, your videos come across a little bit... CIA evil but evil is necessary because others are more evil. I doubt any modern atrocity comes close to a million dead civilians in the middle East, but what do I know

Great Video, I see I wasn't the only one who noticed the Error about the Stasi. While formed 5 years post WW2 I'm sure like 90% of everything else in Germany at the time was full of former Nazis and whom better to run a Brutally Tyrannical Group of Psychopaths. The Stasi The Ministry for State Security, or State Security Service, commonly known as the Stasi, was the official state security service of the German Democratic Republic from 1950 to 1990. It has been described as one of the most effective and repressive intelligence and secret police agencies to have ever existed.

Of course nobody is under the illusion that the CIA and other government agencies are like Ethan Hunt and the IMF but it's a refreshing example of the possibility of how we could be better and more heroic like Ethan and the IMF if we try and worked hard on ourselves, say what you will about 24 and Jack Bauer but despite all the torture and stuff he's still a badass heroic character that deserves his props of respect for the man is constantly put through hell to try to protect those that he love as well as in service of his country and countryman; yet he keeps getting stabbed in the back left and right by the people he serves along with those who he trust the most, I'm pretty sure if he had someone like Ethan and his team on his side if the IMF were involved and helping him save the day within the course of a day he wouldn't have to resort to such Dark and Grizzly tactics in order to stop threats, an agent like Ethan and even Burn Notice's Michael Westen and alias's Sidney bristow are and can be examples to a fictional character like Jack Bauer on how they could be better if they're given the chance!💯😁😉👍

These agencies search out and hire complete and total assholes, because that's who they require to do the jobs. That's the baseline of who makes up their staffs. To imagine that an agency staffed with such people is going to be inherently good is insane, at best you can hope for minor instances of competence, but being staffed by assholes makes even that difficult to achieve.

Regarding torture as a means of interrogation. Without corroboration or the ability to safely confirm the info as true, the subject can just say whatever he wants to make the pain stop. If he believes he’s going to die regardless if he tells the truth or not, it’s a bad position for the interrogator to be in. Also, threatening death is a risky move. Typically only can play that card once. Doing that repeatedly will have diminishing returns or an adverse effect on the interrogator’s control over the subject.
@vaclavjebavy51182 жыл бұрын
yeah, that's why at least some organizations tone it down. Did you know that the main justification for things like waterboarding etc. is a semantic one? Torture is defined as prolonged 'abuse' that inflicts physical of psychological injury. Enhanced interrogation, at least in theory, is based on the idea that people without the protections of American citizens or the Geneva conventions can be interrogated with different means, so long as the means don't cause long term-harm (a bruise might count as that). Somewhat twisted, whichever way you look at it. The answer problem is present everywhere. Apparently the way interrogators solve it is by asking questions they know the answer to. If the guy answers truthfully, they go on to peacefully cooperate with them.

If it's a Government agency, it's bloated, inefficient, incompetent, unnecessary on most levels and generally does far more harm than good. Movies such as these at least give us a few moments of believing that Someone, Anyone that works for the Gov, gives a shit. I parked carelessly in front of the first hotel I found because I just wanted to quickly ask the receptionist if they have any vacancies. When I returned to the car I was scolded by some angry white guy who was backing out of the space next to mine. He was the spitting image of every Hollywood field agents after Jason Bourne(the sleazy type who gets killed early): burly, bald and driving our country's smallest compact car. I nearly called out "Whatever, CIA man!" but held my tongue. Recently, I just discovered that there's a US army intelligence unit made up entirely by Mormons. A couple of other thoughts… 1. The suggested idea that the CIA isn’t needed due to its sundry failures is to accept the notion that a nation can survive without a spying capability and a covert action capability. To believe that is to accetp a foolish idea and worse run down the road to national suicide. The world is not a friendly place. 2. The narrator’s portrayal of CIA agents being men who will do any evil deed is at great odds with the men I grew up with, friends of my father. They were the greatest patriots I have ever met. Unsung and humble, they did their jobs recruting people to provide information, landing on the hostile shores of enemy nations & crossing tractless deserts into remote places such as Afghanistan was in the 1950’s. 3. Finally, the vast, vast majority of the books about the CIA are written by people who are predisposed to dislike the agency. Sure they make mistakes - any organization does. But the thing is that you never hear of the CIA’s successes - because after all, they're secret. You think that a U2 just happened to fly over Cuba at the right place and at the right time to take pictures of nuclear missiles there? No, a CIA team found them, took pictures with a cheap camera, got out and delivered the film. They then were sent back in with a good camera, got more pictures and then got back out a a second time. Then they went back in as an overwatch to ensure the missiles were still there when the hastily planned U2 mission was executed. Then they got out a third time. How do I know? I talked with the team leader at my dad’s funeral.

The paradox of the good leader is that you will inevitably have to make a choice between what is good for the state and society as a whole, and what is fair and right for the individual. No leader can escape the moral calculus of utilitarianism... and yet, if you choose the good of the many on the violation of the individual, you have guaranteed an eventual slide into the damnation of totalitarianism, because you have no respect for the individual if they exist as an obstacle to your own judgment on what is the greater good. Although you say "poked" The only way for them to the end of an umbrella into a person in order to inject a metal ball like that would be as if the ends of the umbrella were sharpened. It can be difficult to tell incompetence apart from malice. Government agencies have plenty of both. Either way, arming terrorists and bombing civilians are business as usual.

Those "military experts" in US intel also didn't believe Ukraine could survive 3 days under russian attack. 120 days past and UA still stands and is far from collapsing. Those guys are bunch of amateurs.

@@MALICEM12 I believe in incompetence more than in ability to make deceptions. Besides, it can actually be both. They lied because were to incompetent to actually find out the truth

Out of frame is ending. That makes me sad. I loved all of the movie comparisons to real life issues. This is one of very few channels that manages to speak politically the correct way with nothing but facts and logical arguments against the insanity of the world.

welp, time to clear space to download all the out of frame videos, though it'll suck not having all the links in the descriptions attached to the videos

You only hear about the failures but never hear about the successes of these organizations. There are no rules in the game of life.

When a person fails, they get to try again, usually. When the FBI fails, the weapons they sold to the cartel are used to kill dozens and the agents involved get a reprimand at worst, and are allowed to continue engaging in activities indistinguishable from organized crime.

It's all successes for them, the question is how you define a success. If your definition is stopping bad guys, saving innocent lives, and keeping the peace, you and the letters are not on the same page. False flags probably comprise a significant chunk of their activities, and the rest is surveillance. Of who? You and me.
