99% of his visuals were VFX. The company that did the VFX went bankrupt because they worked so hard on this film (watch life AFTER Pi) and rather than thank them for the Oscar they left them out. Yeah, great people here. . .

When I see this film, only the vfx nightmare behind it comes to mind. You should have really asked him about that. Would have been interersting to see his response.

Claudio should have thanked the visual effects artists who helped make him look good. When he accepted his award, he made no mention of them. Which I found to be totally unacceptable.

I think he was just too exited. He also only thanked his family.

Incredible film, oh my gosh! It really blows that R&H had to file for bankruptcy, though ... and I hear Ang Lee didn't even mention them in his acceptance speech. :(

I just watched this last night. I really do not think this deserved the oscar. The first half of the film is very very poor, and then becomes amazing 70% through. The first 30$ of the film Claudio and the focus puller had an easy run, didn't even take the camera off the sticks!

The film didn't really work, but I bet you need a lot of knowledge to get as far as they did.
