@@JosueRodriguez08 Not really. This image has the vintage vibe of film due to the imperfections but not noise because it was shot during the day. It has chromatic aberrations, pleasing lack of sharpness due to the lens...the color grading is good.

@@lorenzocorro1517 crazy how the most film-like digital camera happens to be a 10 year old $200 mirrorless. Has anyone done a breakdown of why the EOSM with the raw hack looks like this? It has to be more than just the raw...

Marvelous! I’m also a Chicagoan (and I used to work at Tribune Tower) and you made my heart skip a beat. You’ve certainly achieved a great filmic look. I’m a vintage lens fan too, and have found the same as you - it does a lot to kill the digital crispness that gives the game away. I’m also shooting on the EOS M, but only recently have been experimenting with the RAW modes - and it’s incredible. I haven’t done the tests tho to see how the internal pseudo 4K shooting fares against shooting at 2.5K and uprezzing (sp?) that. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to what’s next!

First step is proper exposure and focus while filming, the vintage lenses also help. I used MLV App only for white balance and highlight recovery. The LuTs used were made by Obsidian Visuals and added in FCPX.

@@TheMintHippoTroupe thanks. What color profile did you use in mlv and how did you restore the highlights? I currently export to cinemadng and do all the subsequent correction in davinci, but I like your result better, so I want to learn more and try it out
@TheMintHippoTroupe3 жыл бұрын
@@AlexeyKadushkin Thats funny because I am always envious of Davinci users. No fancy color profile, this is just rec709. There is a highlight recover slider in MLVApp, I do not think that highlight recovery exports with DNG. I believe 90% of the color here is from the location, vintage lenses, ND filter, and proper exposure in camera. The LUT only minimally brought out the blues more. If you are not already a member of the Eos M facebook group I highly recommend joining. That is where I learn the most.

@TheMintHippoTroupe2 жыл бұрын
No throw away shots due to dots or dropped frames. The 5k frtp mode used here is extremely stable and probably more so now with updates. Usually over exposing or shooting directly at the sun can cause recording to stop but there are simple work arounds to this.

Theoretically unlimited raw recording. It mostly depends on recording mode and camera settings. For example on this shoot strong direct sunlight could cause recording stop but it can be controlled.
