I spent a week in Osaka once. Really enjoyed it. The people are a bit more ... Relaxed let's say.... And very friendly. It's nice that you take the time to look inside some of the shops rather than just go past. Makes it more interesting.

Phenomenal place! Amazing number of small cafes to restaurants, and vendors with incredible food options everywhere! Very cool … if ever I get a chance to return there I’ll definitely check it out and grab a bite to eat!!

CRAZY, the crowds! This was the second Mountain Day holiday?! 9:14 that's me, as a kid. I loved watching short-order cooks too at the markets after school. Also love those huge crabs, octopi, and golden baby buddha (?) restaurant ads. The melon slices were very reasonably priced in USD. Stay cool, thanks :- )

Unlike the past, most of the stores in Kuromon Market today are rip-offs catering to tourists. Most of the owners are foreigners who bought the original stores to attract inbound tourists. The ingredients may be good, but the cooks are amateurs, and the eating area has cheap tables and chairs and no air conditioning. As a Japanese person, I don't recommend it. Even if the ingredients are of the same quality, the price is the same and the service is better if you go to a proper store. In the same area, if you want to eat crab, we recommend Kani Douraku, if you want to eat beef, Hariju or Kisoji, and if you want to eat puffer fish, we recommend Zuboraya. There are some good shops in Kuromon Market, but there are also many exceptions, which is why I made these comments. If you come to Japan, please have a great time.

I have heard the best Takoyaki is made in Osaka, specifically in Takoyaki Juhachiban at Dotonbori. I also heard Rikuro’s Cheesecake at Namba Main Store is an Osaka bakery renowned Japan-wide for fresh and fluffy cheesecakes.

Japan is a country of natural disasters such as earthquakes & typhoons. When they hit us, public phones become very important because cell phones may not be able to work.

@@VSV_Japan Absolutely logical. We still have a land line, when they hacked the main carriers in the USA everybody was completely lost. Modern technic is okay, but there is nothing wrong with the old ways. Very smart 👍🏼
