If you like classic cars the Horton Classic Car Museum, in Nocona, is worth a visit. Beautiful classics and great memorabilia. Very nice place.

Ernesto Moreno It is about an hour and a half from Dallas but there are closer towns like Gainesville and Wichita Falls is nearby. It’s got a lot of charm if you are looking for a small town.

I don’t know if you moved in yet but you’ll learn that the Fenolio family has a big influence in the town, the mayor is a Fenolio and I think they run the boot factory. There’s quite a few of us that don’t like them. I’d possibly say they’re a con when it comes to Nocona, possibly.

I was born in ft worth but always lived in either Gainesville or Nocona. Gainesville is much bigger than nocona. But the best times of my childhood were spent in nocona hills and oak shores. We had an amazing time as kids. A lot of cottonmouths in Nocona Lake though. Copperheads too and rattlesnakes. I used to see all of them.

I remember years ago when Nacona boots were made there and were quite good. Now, after Justin got them and many others, they are outsourced to other countries. That is so sad. It is getting quite hard to get American made boots these days. Who wants Chinese boots made from fake leather? Just sad.

The way you pronounced 'Larry Mahan' shows you have no experience with rodeo or rodeo cowboys. It is pronounced Larry May-han. He was one of the first rodeo cowboys to fly to his rodeos. He used a road map in order to fly to his towns. He kept his airplane here in Falcon, Colorado. It was a twin engine and was supposed to be inspected every so often. He was usually gone and missed the inspectors appointment. Larry gave me a pair of his boots. I still have them and I am going to inspect them and see if they were built in Nocoma.

I was born in Texas but grew up outside of Washington DC and only came back here to Texas in 2008. My only experience with the rodeo is having been to the Houston Rodeo a few times. Thanks for the pronunciation correction.
