I was 17-years-old the first I heard "Stay Free". I thought it was amazing the first time I heard it. Amazing to think an American teen could relate so strongly to a song about another teen doing the very same things but an entire world away.

Wow, many thanks. I love this album but it was a mistake to redo the guitars in SF. This is gorgeous. The Crown is still there... have had a few drinks there for one reason only: This song.

I remember buying this album in 1978 with my school lunch money. I had no dinners at school that week lol! And that was the way it was whenever a new album or single came out. It was fucking well worth it!

I have to confess, I think Mick Jones is the most important clash member.
@T289c Жыл бұрын
with out one, there is none. Topper was the only Drummer that mattered... Joe was the quintessential front man. Paul actually could play the bass and had the attitude that completed them. Yes Mick is equally important. But its all 4 that made them who they were.

say what you want but the guitars sound absolutely deadly in the released version compared to this do agree on the drums/vocals working greatly here

Yes, with extra instrumentation added, including lead guitar parts. The track is in a later stage of development.

Too much sugar on Sandy Pearlman's work - and the reverse drums in the mix are so wrong.
