A lovely tractor which I’m sure has been maintained judging by things such as the exhaust and tyres etc. People who retain the documents relating to the tractor 🚜 have usually cared for it. It seems, but here I’m no judge, to just need some welding and painting with some new decals which I believe can be bought on line. I recall a few years ago 60+ my farming neighbours had one and it was a really good tractor for a small Devon farm. It had lights and I noticed that yours has the holes where the lights, if I remember correctly, were mounted. Maybe you could upgrade it with a few bits like lights etc as they’re always useful in the winter! But a good buy I liked the little original sticker saying Ferguson System !! As I said a bit of welding and some nice red and silver paint and it will look really good - well done.

Had 65 at home here in Wexford Southern Ireland 🇮🇪. First tractor I learned to drive in around 1975 !! Great tractor . Kept her till she was clapped out.😄😄 reminds me of good old days. Good luck with yours.

That smoke is the tractor cleaning it self out especially if hasn’t done a lot of work in the last couple of years

I have a 65 it came with the grader setup on it and I have both original manuals with it and I love it I have fixed the lights and I drive it a night sometimes too I think I suggested to get a 65 about 8 months ago so yeah

Great old tractor 65 my brother bought an old 65 high clearance model it had fantastic torque could take off in top gear no trouble, this was early 70's. I made deliveries to Gt. Yarmouth in 1976 when I worked for a small coy. in Lowerstoft. This was at the beginning of my OE, I was brought up on a 1000 acre farm in Eastern Southland SI. NZ and my older brother (passed away Jan. this year) ended up owning 10 farms totaling 25,000 acres which his family now have their own farms 2 sons and a daughter around 3,000 acres each and they also manage with my Bro's. widow 2 properties owned by Peters Farms Ltd. (10,000 acres) plus a leased farm of 6,000 acres. A few years ago they tailed 70,000 lambs over all of their farms the also rear grass feed beef 3 to 4 hundred head. NZ lamb is bought by the English in your off season and if the yanks want improve their sheep genetics they buy the semen etc. from many countries including NZ.

Also mine has a problem where if it sits for over a week ashes come out of the exhaust pipe so I don’t know if yours has the same problem but mine has a different exhaust on it so that might be the cause

Other than the smoke from the breather pipe she runs well, might just be the piston rings need doing, even more so if any water has gotten in from the exhaust, hence why a flap is a good idea

The blow by from the breather may be due to light use. Stick a plough on it and give it a bit of hard work. Cant do it any harm.
