Great tutorial. One thing I found is that for beginners, a great cover for your messy classic pass is leading it into a spread, makes any small mistakes you do seem like you were purposefully going into a spread. I say this is great for beginners since I am a beginner myself 😅😅

I’m not gettin paid for this: Bought the pass project last night. If anyone has a cleaner pass (any variants), I’ve not seen it. The camera angles are PERFECT for the subtleties and AP is actually a naturally adept & intuitive teacher. THIS project is the best one on the pass I’ve ever seen. Mark it! ✌️ Solid job, AP. (P.S. I had to show my wife the intro: She didn’t believe he wasn’t using camera cuts.)

Alex, could you shoot the tutorial parts of the videos from your view? I don't know about anyone else, but it would really help to see the cards as you see them
@kuglio7636
@kuglio7636 5 жыл бұрын
I agree 100%!! Why don't they understand this? An Over-The-Shoulder-View (OTSV) eliminates 80% of the job of having to turn everything around 180 degrees in your mind which is way too difficult because that involves having to constantly pause the video for which you really need a 3rd hand involved doing it for you. If you don't pause it, then you have to rewind it. I usually just ignore any tutorial that isn't shot from an OTSV. I'm completely baffled as to why these guys just can't comprehend how difficult it is to learn anything when you have to reverse engineer everything they're doing. It's imperative that you see the deck exactly how they see it.

Dude, I only just decided 2 days ago that I wanted to learn slight of hand, card tricks, cardistry, etc. and seeing this video both made me feel like I have no chance at being good lol while also feeling like “damn, I hope I can get close to this good someday”. I slowed the beginning video down to .25 and still couldn’t tell what you were doing man; very very cool. Subscribed!

The big thing is getting your finger and hand muscles up and super strong for slights I have noticed. And I feel ya man I got small hands with no muscles lol long fingers with windows and small palms the whole nine yards and I'm still gunna give er my all. He does do this pass super slick though I couldn't figure out the motion of his hands for most of the video lol

I just bought the pass project and have to say I like it really much. The brickpass is really funny to do. Some people are thinking that they already to the pass so they don‘t need it. But my suggestion is to buy this project when you already learned thepass, because you will be faster in learn the tips from Alex. this is an improvement on the pass and you will use one of the variations.

You really give the best tutorials man. had to buy the set even though I could find most of them free, none of the tutorials I find cover as many bases and situations, work arounds, and quality production. thanks. as someone new to learning this stuff (just for fun) you make it pretty simple even for me. I couldn't figure out the diagonal palm shift at all, where it looked even slightly smooth, and though still not "performance" ready with it, 30 minutes after watching your tutorial I at least had the movements down. not smooth, but I know what to practice, and have the right feeling thanks to you. Can actually manage to pull it off here and there where it would look good. just have to get consistant with it, so I'm confident to do it in front of some drunk friends or kids maybe. lol. keep up the great work man. love the free tutorials, and don't mind paying you for the more in depth ones, since I know they're going to be thorough.

I have been working with passes since classic pass and begun using the invisible pass after the ninja series from ellusionist. For me the "invisible pass" is perfect and had been for a long time. Classic pass worked just fine. When it's convenient though I like to use a turnover pass as tapping the cards on the table to square the deck. It's SUPER natural and makes sense. Herman pass is to flashy for me. (As in there really is no good cover for it) To clarify almost all passes are held in dealers grip with a break and severe cover over the half that would expose the pass. Again this can be done very naturally while riffling or squaring up the deck. It's not an unnatural motion . My picks would be "classic" "invisible (ellusionist) , spread (naturally done) , turnover (naturally done) you really don't need more then that. I would spend time perfecting 2 types of passes unless you need to create a variation for a routine. In essence they are just adjustments to other passes to achieve the same thing. For front gap comment. That's why you hold it in dealers grip with point in front to cover any possible gaps. Takes a lot of time and practice to get to breaking with just the skin. I have never seen a magician move thumb around during a pass , who do you watch 😂

I've discovered that when doing the pass: 1) When you have a pinky break below the bigger portion of the deck(when the selected card you want to control is somewhere in the lower half of the deck) you want to use the Classic Pass, it is much easier when you are transfering a bigger portion to the top. 2) On the other hand, when you have a pinky break somewhere on the top half of the deck( the selected card is somewhere in top half) you want to use the Herman Pass. It is much easier to do these moves if you do them this way! TRY IT YOURSELVES!

I enjoyed the intro, the song just took me to a heavenly place - I just legit found out the channel a few minutes ago and am already in love with this guy's storytelling techniques. The only thing am asking is why I didn't know about this channel all this while! You know what I blame youtube's algorithm🤣🤣

I'm kinda embarrassed to admit this but I've been a Close Up Magician who specializes in Card routines for the LAST 20 YEARS! I've never bothered to learn The Pass. Until now. You're never too old to learn, always seek to improve! I can't believe I've managed to execute my moves, sleights and effects using other techniques for over 2 decades. Ha ha

I've watched a dozen of these videos now, and my takeaway is that y'all need to invest in head-mounted cameras so we can actually see what it's supposed to look like from our perspective.

Yeah, it’s weird for me now cause I started learning to do stuff holding the deck in my right hand (Despite being right handed) and watching stuff from this POV kinda works for that, although I often think of retraining myself to hold the deck in my left like most magicians
