First “Cleaners From Venus” song I heard on an iTunes playlist. I was immediately hooked. Upon investigation into the deeper catalog it was over for me. How did this artist escape me for 40 years? I rank Martin with all of the great songwriters in the British pop/rock canon. Yes, including those two. 🙂

I just realised that "Mercury Girl" is the sister of the girl that has flown in "Norwegian Wood". Two great songs I will always treasure. Chapeau, Mr. Newell! One of the best Cleaners-Songs evah!

Unbelievable. Still sounds so fresh. I heard of the cleaners from Venus for the first time the other day just skipping through Spotify. Was cleaning windows and my mind was drifting off when “winter in the country” captivated me and I played it another 3 times. Really dreamy and very beautiful. Got me going to check out the the whole back catalogue and I’m very much enjoying it. Really good to see you still doing it man. A real inspiration. And like I say, still sounded fresh ❤

I just discovered this song on Spotify. Absolutely incredible. Well done Martin! Still sounding excellent :) Why did you record a second version? The "Victoria Grey" (demo?) version is killer!
