@@d_rod3😂 talk about a fall from grace. That would be the best start with the most devastating end in basketball history. In all honesty, I could see the CAVS winning the Championship this year. I don't think anyone else can contend with them. Celtics don't have the front court to match anymore. Unless Horford can continue to turn back the clock.. and I doubt that even if he does, he could handle Mobley or Allen. The only chance the Celtics have is if Kristaps is fully healthy and Tatum can get out his slump. If Kristaps gets injured again, they have no chance. Their offense is too stagnant without him.. too much Iso ball. I think they will be a lot better than previously, since Brown has developed his left hand and handles.. But Cavs are too deep right now. Funny that I've said for year's that Brown should be their focus. That of he develops his handle he'd be their best player. Came true, but Tatum needs to be his Pippen. Play hard defense and get out in transition.. That's the problem though, he never plays transition basketball or ever attacks the rim. I'd take Scotty Pippen over Tatum any day of the week. He's overrated as hell, especially when his shot isn't falling. Unless they meet a fully healthy OKC team in the West.. Or possibly a team like the T-Wolves with their young player's start to turn up a lot. I don't think Mavs, or Wolves are deep enough and it will take the perfect matchups with depth to beat the Cavs. Donavan Mitchell is an absolute nightmare in the playoffs too. No one will be able to guard him. Health will play a factor and they have the depth in their favor to spread out minutes all season to rest guy's late. The one thing I might worry about. Is if they get distracted by trying to get the most W's in the regular season. Then ride guy's too hard and burn themselves out, or injure guy's before the playoffs. Like the Warriors did and lose the Championship because of it in that 73 W's season. Keeping guy's healthy and rest should matter over a winning record late in the season. If they wanna win a 🏆

Kerr hit it right on the head. The Cavs have been improving year over year by making smart long-term moves and keeping the pieces that are working. Continuity is huge and this being the third year with the main core has to be good for growth and chemistry which has always been the Cavs' biggest question. They finally look like all their pieces are able to shine together instead of taking turns/games off. So fun to watch and I'm excited for an excellent season

I'm not a fan of the Cavs, from Detroit, but I love Spida, have since he was drafted. I was worried that this was headed towards a break up and they could not all coexist, but then I heard a report about Mitchell's demands for his extension. Reportedly he said he would only sign if they kept Garland and Allen.... I think Mobley was in that as well, but he was never going to be traded. Either way....when you stick your neck out for your teammates they will play for each other. All of them are staying and Adkins is a really solid coach.

It's a combination of a number of things. I think Kenny Atkinson coming in definitely helps, but not just because of his ability to develop players, but also him changing the offensive scheme up from a primarily pick-and-roll offense to something more up-tempo and fast paced, and we're seeing the results of that. I think Kenny bringing former Jazz and Knicks development guru Johnnie Bryant also helps, especially since Bryant and Donovan Mitchell are friends. Bryant developed guys like Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, and Jalen Brunson, so it's not shocking that he'd have his hands in the development process for both Mobley and Garland. But HOW QUICKLY they're improving might be the big surprise. Mitchell re-signing a new deal during the offseason helps, because now the distraction of "will he or won't he" is off the table. They can focus on him leading the team to new heights, and he can focus on being more of a team leader than ever in his career. I am pleasantly surprised to see Cleveland be this good this quickly. I thought that they might take a year, learn and adjust to Atkinson's system, and possibly compete for the 3rd seed behind Boston and Philly. I did not think they'd go 12-0 out the gate, but I'm enjoying it all the same.

Tough to win MVP on a really stacked team. It’s just how the voting and the media perception works. When you have a balanced team with a really good starting 5 it’s just unlikely you get an MVP. People will view the Celtics as a stacked team because they are and when you have a roster like that one guy just isn’t going to get enough individual credit to get the mvp. Not really how the award should work in my opinion but it’s how the media has always voted, at least as far back as I can remember
