Exactly. RELAX! The NBA is a process, normally a long one. The Celts are a perfect example. It took them so long before they got to where they are. Many years of players taking their lumps, getting better, maturing, adding the right free agents at the right time. Anyone thinking the Cavs are competing for a title next year are kidding themselves. Especially next year with the new coaching staff and still trying to figure out their roster. Bottom line is the have a very bright future with some of the pieces they have, namely Mobley and Mitchell.

Cavs core still young and has made appropriate strides each of last 2 seasons in spite of injuries--I think new coach/system + health and some tinkering with bench and we can compete with the best in the east.

Cass have proven to be an average maybe above average team with playing the two small guards. Don't forget they won seventeen out of eighteen games playing with one point guard, and they were the best team in the NBA holding teams under a hundred points. They don't need new players.They just need to rearrange the chairs on the deck. Keep garland and have him coming off the bench. He may end up being the sixth man of the year and a possible all star and it would give the cavaliers bench a lot of scoring. Consider this starting lineup; Wade, Allen, Mobley, Mitchell and a choice of Ocoro/Merrill/Strus/Bates at the 2 position. Any team would have trouble scoring 100 points while at the same time the bench would increase its scoring output.

@@Rob-in6lf What other choice do cavs have. He can't play a longside mitchell, and from a team standpoint , it makes total sense. He'd have to swallow his pride a little but making forty Million a year Should make it easier to swallow. It might even get him a ring.

Consider a starting lineup of Ingram, Cam Johnson, Mobley, Mitchell, Garland. We can have a tall guard to switch with Garland when needed and Mitchell can play PG. if we trade for both Johnson and Finney-Smith. Finney -Smith, Dinwiddie can come off bench for back court. Our Rookie can play small forward SG and PG. Trade Allen, Levert, Dean Wade etc to get this done and sign Kevin Looney he is another big that can shoot and rebound. Prince is a stretch forward.

Time for the Cavs to start making roster moves to better position themselves to compete in the East since their rivals are already making moves to get better. Cavs need to re-sign Mitchell to at least a 3 year contract extension and see if their core four can grow together with a new head coach or else Cavs will need to move in a different direction with their roster. GO CAVS!!

We need to trade for Brandon Ingram, Cam Johnson and Duane Finney-Smith. Sign a center or Tauren Prince, Kevin Looney and a PG. Resign Mitchell, Okoro, Morris and Thompson.

See what K. Atkinson does with improving young roster. If Mobley and Okoro get better on offence and Mitchell stays, Cavs are as good as any other team.

I can see that. However he was a 40% 3 pt shooter this year. So what you said is false. I agree with your narrative to see if he gets respected for it and the only way for this is if he is consistent however what’s real is that he was an excellent 3 & D guy and defense wins championships.

The two bigs can work. When Kenny Atkinson was coach of the Nets he had Jarrett Allen shooting the 3. He can do that again and have Mobley shoot more from 3. Have Allen and Mobley take at least 4 a game.

We need wings. We can sign Kevin Looney and Taurean Prince both of whom are bigs that can shoot the 3 that lineup better. We can also trade for Cam Johnson to start next to Mobley. Trade Allen for Ingram. Much better team. In a trade for Johnson we need to have Finney-Smith included whom is great defensively can guard 3 positions. He can play small forward, guard and PF. Imagine these pieces on this Cavs team. Very versatile and can compete. It adds defense, shooting and length.

Lineup: Ingram, Johnson, Mobley, Mitchell, Garland. Bench: Looney, Strus, Finney-Smith, Okoro, Taylor, Morris, Merrill, Ty Jerome, Spencer Dinwiddie, Thompson 2 ways: Bates, DJ, I Mobley, P Nance. Trade: Allen, Levert, Niang, Wade, Porter Jr etc. Cleans up the bench. We have to expiring in Levert and Wade traded to Brooklyn. When we need size in backcourt Mitchell becomes PG, DG becomes 6 th man and switch for Finney-Smith and rookie Taylor.

Paul George is a 2nd tier level star. He makes the Sixers better but not by a lot. Celtics and Knicks are the 2 above the Cavs until the Cavs beat them. The Atkinson hire just made the Cavs a lot better. They are running it back with the same core 4 but they are NOT running it back the same way. They will have an actual pace and space offense. This will vastly improve them. Let that play out. Let's not fall the trap of playing the game on paper based on names.

There are very few avenues to getting better for that org. CLE is now against it, with no signed extension. Clock is ticking Koby. Why has Donovan not agreed? You might as well accept it's time to consider trading him to Miami. Herro can play off DG. Ware is a solid 3rd big. Jaime is the missing piece. There are others that would trade for him. Not sure than is any org that hasn't taken care of needs for DG already and that window is closed.

This why I think the Mitchell trade was so problematic. Yes - he’s a great player . Yes the team is better with him on it than when had Sexton and Markannen but you gave away wayyyyy too many assets and money only to be a four seed. Mitchell is good but let’s face it- he’d be the third option on a Boston and a second option on a NY or MIL not the center piece of a championship team. A four seed is worthless and we don’t have the room improve and make the moves NY and Philly did. You can (and probably should) trade either garland or Allen, you’ll have to wait until closer to the trade deadline to up their trade value with more playing time and make a deal with a contender. Our bench is also total undersized garbled nonsense. For now - the Cavs remain a 2K dream team

Koby never takes free agency seriously. Have we ever signed a player in the first couple days? We always settle for the leftovers. Our competitors NEVER take the same approach. We have Dan Gilbert. Koby has to stop being so darn frugal.

Tbh we flopped long before FA. We should’ve taken a Stretch 4 I really liked Ke’lel Ware but the Heat took em he was the type of player we needed to move Allen and slide Mobley to the 5. Even Filipowski was available we could’ve traded to the top of the second or end of the 1st and snagged him or Someone similar. Our roster construction is ass. Where the fuck is the athleticism we got Dean wades Strus and Niangs… seasons cooked we’ll be regulated season warriors and mid for years now

@@jowasijo true but as a rental he'd have a small window to prove himself and good or bad he'd be free to go elsewhere next year. So giving him a chance would work in everyone's favor but it's not my 40M to gamble on. We've gotta do something though.
