Oh wow, that was gruesome for sure! The part of the letter that said, "Just Laboratory guinea pigs"... was disgusting. The bit that really got me was, so many of the victims were never identified. How terribly sad for their loved ones. A really gruesome story, and you told it so well Megan! Thank you🙂

So great to see you branching out into this genre. So many true crime stories don't really go into much detail, or sort of treat this as a joke, so I really appreciate your effort. I'd like to request that you might look into the death of Marion Brubaker of Coventry Township south of Akron in August of 1962. She was 12 years old had been a classmate of mine. I don't know if they ever identified her killer. Thanks for your good work!

Unfortunately, so many transients during this time. People just moving through the area to get to somewhere else and it was a perfect opportunity for a killer to have victims aplenty and practically guaranteed to never be identified. May those poor souls be resting in peace, and the killer or killers made to pay for his/her/their evil deeds, if not in this life, at least in the next one.

I'm glad to see this case get more attention. I've known about this for around 37 years now. My dad was from Cleveland and told us about The Torso Killer. My dad was a kid back when it happened. This story started my fascination for capturing serial killers.

Wow. I didn't realize so many of the victims are unidentified. Those poor people. My mom was born and raised in Ohio. She was raised on a farm, in Euclid I think. I remember her talking about this from time to time. R.I.P to these victims. I wish they could identify these victims and give their names back to them. I pray that they find out who did this, even so many years later.

What an interesting case. Reminds me in some ways of the unsolved murders throughout the South, Pacific Northwest possibly attributed to the "Man from the Train" theory. Lots of transient laborers and a lot less record keeping on personnel at that time.

Thanks for sharing, it reminds me of an episode on the Travel Channel I watched a year or two ago. If you watch The Holzer Files on Travel Channel - Season 2 Episode 1 "Phantom Hand" it covers the Cleveland Torso murders being a railroad worker who killed for fun, and left on the next train. There were similar torso murders off the railway in Pennsylvania. Still do not know who it was, Elliot Ness gave it his best shot. Very interesting Channel you have.

This channel is a hidden gem. Sharing. Just curious, of any of the stuff that is left on this case would the new micro DNA techniques work? That being said, you guys need to give some live presentations at local libraries,historical societies. Etc.

Thank you so much for this comment! If there was any evidence left they may have been able to find something but doubtful unless the killers dna was in the old systems :/

What was Elliot Ness thinking? Those poor people he burned out because of his own frustration. The killer would have needed a base from which to do what he did. A place away from prying eyes and ears. He would also need a way to transport the bodies. Police did not have the abilities they do today to track the clues the killer leaves behind. I had not previously heard about this case. Very intersting and probably is connected to the Dahlia murder. Just found your channel and like the content as well as both of your delivery. Thanks for putting in all the effort for us to enjoy.

Never heard of this one before! But it was a good story! If I may give just a small critique, and it's mostly me, but switching between past and present tense was my only bug. Just a little distracting, not a big deal. Other than that, fantastic!

It almost sounds the guy could have been a mortician for knowing how to drain the blood and take them apart. It's sad that all these innocent lives were murdered. It would be great if they could do DNA now on the victims and find out who they once were. Great video.
@wadewilson80112 жыл бұрын
They did suspect him to be a Butcher, Surgeon, or Mortician. Hence his nickname Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run.

Engine oil AND blood? WTF? Do they mean a bucket once used for engine oil had blood in it? I read a book about these, but never realized that so many were unidentified and none of these details were in it, in spite of gruesome photos. As to the hobo jungle, the killer may not have lived there, but probably many of the victims did. It was a very hard time for the poor.

One of the victims was frozen and mummified? Does that mean in a freezer or just by the cold weather? If a freezer, that would rule out the hobos that have no homes with freezers probably. And if the killer kept the body for a long time, could that mean the killer kept parts of his victim for some time in his home? Again, not likely to be hobos. Most of the victims appear to have been killed elsewhere, blood drained and then their bodies dumped where they are found. The Black Dahlia murder has similarities, but it also has differences, like her face was mutilated to give her a macabre smile and I think her breasts were removed and I don't recall the other details. The person took time to disfigure her, so it seems it was pretty personal. Besides, a killer could copy unsolved murders, like a serial killer's murders, to cover their own motive. One other thing that Black Dahlia murder has in common with the torso murders is her body was also washed like at least one of the victims mentioned.

Whoever did it, is probably either dead for another crime, dead by his own hand, died in prison on another charge, or simply faded away. I'm going to guess a he, simply because men have the more violent tendency, like the Black Dahlia killer, got away with brutal murder. It's possible it's the same man, both killers are described as likely being Doctors, enjoying mutilation. But the Betty Short murder wasn't decapitation, so it's mere speculation, however, the taunting constantly does fit the same profile.
