5:23 Waxer (who died here) is one of the 2 clones (Boil is the other) who met the small little blue Twi'lek girl on Ryloth, btw. He had her as a marking on his helmet.

Funny thing you mentioned the homeless Clone Trooper in Kenobi at 11:55. Trooper Nax was a veteran, or rather a survivor of the Umbara conflict you watched this episode.

One of my favorite episodes! So fun to see your reaction! Also the clone named Waxer who talked to Rex before dying was one of the clones from the Ryloth arc that were protecting the little Twi Lek girl. Such a sad way to go..

When Krell said "defective" with that tone of voice, just wanted to punch him in the face 2:49Fives is the true voice of the clones 6:15 that shot is just awesome the whole battallion against Krell, always had the theory this is how "Order 66" will look like if the Jedi were a potential threat

The clones have such a tragic life. To be created to fight a war and then discarded afterwards. They deserved so much more.

A highly emotional arc. First time I watched this, I had no idea what I was in for. It still moves me. A lot of allegories to the way we treat each other in the real world. The prejudice, the racism, and psychopathic tendencies of Krell. The treatment of the clones, know where this is going, mirroring how veterans and active duty people are treated. This was a really sad but one of the most important arcs of The Clone Wars IMO. Love your analysis afterwards.

5:22, not sure if you mentioned this but this trooper dying is Waxer, the same clone who was with Boil when they rescued the little blue kid on Ryloth, and saved Kenobi from the downed LAAT on Geonosis.

This is one of my favorite arc. It allows us to concretely understand the full effectiveness of Palpatine's strategy, which aims not only to destroy the Jedi order, but also to corrupt it: At the time this episode takes place, the Clone Wars have already been going on for several years, and already the war has begun to reach certain Jedi to make them flirt with the Dark side. Anakin, Krell, Ventress, and they will not be the last during this war... The war provokes dark emotions among the Jedi and some give in to their impulses. This also works for spectators who can end up “forgetting their pacifism” ;-) In my opinion, this is the genius of The Clone War: It immerses us in what total war is and how it affects our psyche. For Anakin and Krell, war strengthens their egos. I love this arc because this is a "clone POV" arc. The prelogy seemed to show us submissive clones obeying the slightest order, TCW humanized them, and it is in this arc that we see this loyalty pushed to its limits! The clones are the tragic heroes of this series. Either they die heroically doing their duty or they will be corrupted by Order 66 in Revenge of the Sith, and that is the biggest drama of this series.

You're wrong, the Jedi Order was rotten long before the clone war. The Clone War only allowed the already rotten Order to decay even faster. And some Jedi, such as Krell, go over to the dark side only because the Jedi Order is rotten and they know it, Krell hated the current structure of the order and therefore went to the dark side. In fact, the Jedi themselves encouraged smarter Jedi to go over to the dark side. And even under the rule of the Sith, life in the empire was even better than in the republic under the protection of the Jedi.

I won't give anything away but believe it or not, when looking at the tragedy of the clones you haven't even seen the half of it yet! There is actually another series that comes after the Clone Wars that is all about what happened to the clones after the war ended. Something to keep in mind with the Clone Wars series is that, like the Prequel trilogy, it is ultimately a tragedy. However, what makes the story of Star Wars so cool is that the story doesn't end in tragedy, but instead ends in victory. You've already seen that things do work out in the Original trilogy, and there is more to that story of hope and victory that you haven't gotten to yet. So stay tuned, and I can't wait for the continuation of your journey through the Clone Wars!

Its again, the buddhist understanding of reality in a metaphor. The outside world is a mirror and we are really just fighting ourselves. Projecting our inner world onto everything else. The darkness on umbara is the darkness within each of us. When we wake up to the fact that we are fighting ourselves. This is enlightenment. Seeing reality for what it is instead of through the filter of our conscience mind.

Hey, Imon! CARNAGE OF KRELL: PONG KRELL has been the substitute teacher from Hell and the 501st have had enough! Krell orders that FIVES and JESSE be SUMMARILY EXECUTED without a court martial but a firing squad which includes KIX and TUP is unable to gun the two of them down after Fives reminds them angrily that they're men, not droids! Thwarted, Krell commits a wartime atrocity by stage-managing a FRIENDLY-FIRE MASSACRE! The DEATH of WAXER last seen in "Landing at Point Rain" (Season 2, Episode 5). His helmet bears the image of little NUMA from "Innocents of Ryloth" (Season 1, Episode 20). Waxer's distinctive facial hair was a soul patch. I really like the single tear he sheds as he dies. REX orchestrates a mutiny and it's the greatest example of his fine leadership yet! The scene of Krell's attempted arrest mirrors the scene of Palpatine's attempted arrest in "Revenge of the Sith". The powerful Besalisk Master butchers the clones with his dual-bladed lightsabers until TUP bags the rogue General using the vicious VIXUS PLANT! Krell delivers a frighteningly accurate PROPHECY OF DOOM! DOGMA, the only loyal clone, executes the sadistic and twisted fallen Jedi! The DARKEST and most sobering arc to date in the series that leaves Rex questioning the point of the war. With all the talk of being independent-thinking men, this arc just brings the tragedy of Order 66 into sharp focus when you consider how the clones would have acted if given the choice. In LEGENDS, the role of Pong Krell fell to Weequay Master SORA BULQ briefly seen in the background of a situation room briefing in the animated show. He protests the war as a violation of Jedi principles creating a schism within the Order but is eventually revealed as Dooku's acolyte. The rise of Krell was foreshadowed by Mon Calamari Knight NAHDAR VEBB's aggression and callousness in "Lair of Grievous" (Season 1, Episode 10). This hearkens back to the conversation about the underlying theme of the entire series between Barriss Offee and Ahsoka Tano in "Brain Invaders" (Season 2, Episode 8) about the ROLE OF THE JEDI. The war has compromised the Jedis' principles making them blind to the corrupted nature of those in their ranks like Krell while the same conditions seem to provide Palpatine clarity in that he positioned Krell where he could create chaos, sow discord and demoralize the Order.

Krell Senior General Jedi, this is the highest command of the army, he does not need a tribunal to issue punishment for 2 clones who disobeyed the order, fled from the base, and by their actions could also jeopardize the entire position of the operation. It’s also the clones’ own fault for not making sure that it was squads of disguised droids in front of them, and not clones. With this view of the situation, Rex's attempt to arrest Krell is a serious violation of the regulations, because the clones have no evidence that Krell deliberately provoked a fight between the two groups. Further, even after Krell's arrest, although he was involved in the murder of at least 55 clones and the disruption of the entire operation on Umbar, Krell's execution was also a serious violation of the regulations. If the Senior General does not need a tribunal to execute 2 clones who violated several points of the charter, then for Krell, no matter what he did at that moment, executing him when he was already detained without a higher military tribunal was IMPOSSIBLE. Therefore, Tap, who executed Krell, was put on trial for executing the still-active senior general and Jedi Master. The order for execution also could not come, because as was previously known, Krell damaged the communication systems at the air base, that is, the clones committed lynching.

Unfortunately, this is only the tip of the iceberg - you've seen before in Kenobi just one example of the sorts of things that happen to the Clones as the war ends and after it's done, and now you've seen the worst of the way they're treated in the war - but you've got a lot more to come, without spoiling anything. Krell is not the only Jedi to mistreat the Clones, even if he is the worst offender by far. Ahsoka, Anakin, Plo Koon, Yoda, and Obi-Wan are much better, but most/many of the Jedi are at least a little bit callous about how they have to order these men to their deaths in the name of the mission. The scene where Rex realises they've been tricked into friendly fire is heartbreaking, especially as we lose Waxer there, who's a clone we know from Obi-Wan's battalion in the Battle of Ryloth - as others have pointed out, Waxer and his brother Boil protected the little Twi'lek girl, Numa, and he carries an image of her on his armour to the end. I also really like that Rex actually maybe wasn't about to follow through with his plans to execute Krell and that Dogma did it instead after realising all of his mistakes. Also, Krell is awful, but I love the scene of him fighting the clones, both for how brutal he is and for the sound design of him spinning two saberstaffs. Spectacular even in his villainy.

The clones are treated no better than droids and there are other Jedi that don't like the clones neither. Maybe not as extreme as Krell though.

@@ryanlokensgard1591 After all, friendly fire is mostly to blame for the clones, who are not convinced that they are really droids in disguise. The clones on the other side could be the second squad to carry out their operation, the lost clone squad, the second clone squad that was sent to surround the saboteurs. If clones could spend at least a few minutes identifying an enemy or ally in front of them, friendly fire could be avoided.
@ryanlokensgard1591
@ryanlokensgard1591 Жыл бұрын
@chopper3940 First, they weren't droids. They were Umbarans. Second, clones are engineered to follow orders, so if they are told the enemy is at this location, wearing clone armor taken from dead clones. And the other side is told the same. What are you going to think? Also, how would they communicate with the enemy? Blue on blue is horrible, but it's not the clones' fault.
@chopper3940
@chopper3940 Жыл бұрын
@@ryanlokensgard1591 @ryanlokensgard1591 Oh my God, why are you shallow? 1. According to information, the clone armor was worn by BX droids. 2. Yes, the clones must carry out the order, but how does this compare with the fact that the clones simply were not convinced whether the enemy was in front of them or an ally? 3. THERE WAS NOTHING TO HIND THE CLONES TO BE SURE THAT THE ENEMY OR AN ALLY WAS IN FRONT OF THEM. THE CLONES ARE THEMSELVES TO GUILTY FOR HASTERLY OPENING FRIENDLY FIRE. If you write this nonsense again, you're really an impenetrable fool, just because the clone is dumb doesn't mean the commander is to blame.
