It took me a little too long to realize but Order 66 is such a good allegory for a human trait that most of us would never admit that we all have. Rwandan Genocide, Partition of India, The Holocaust etc. That "chip" is in all of us.

I grew up with this show and it stemmed my love for Star Wars, and especially Ahsoka, so it’s very important to me that they brought this back. Seeing order 66 play out with some of my favorite characters was really emotional. Also, whoever is doing the soundtrack for this season is killing it. This episode alone had such great, suspenseful, and emotional music.

Kevin Kiner has shown to have a knack for respectfully referencing Williams work as well as composing original works that still feel very much in the spirit of Star Wars. This is some of his best work in building atmosphere... in some moments, it’s his music alone that keeps the tension building by reminding us that in spite of the victory we “see”, an ominous moment lay just around the corner that would change the Clone Wars forever.

Sam witwer as the voice of maul and ray park as the one who does his moves is the perfect mix as when sam witwer is starkiller in the force unleashed has the same feel as that hallway scene (with a little Rogue One Vader touch). Fives being the key to saving Rex and Rex withstanding the order he is forced to comply with was incredible. Hayden Christensen, Samuel Jackson & Ian McDiarmid being the voices instead of their Clone Wars counterparts with the dub of Matt Lanter with "What Have I Done!?" & all of the other references like to Fives & Tub episodes, the feeling of the cell being like that of Rebels with Luminara or when Ashoka was framed in Season 5. Rex crying and shaking realizing that the order he has been given was to kill his greatest friend in his life was tough to watch as well as seeing Jesse rush in the control room to help shoot to kill Ahsoka was difficult to see. My childhood memories of the Clone Wars is ending in the way I always saw coming but never wanted to see, still love the clones, always will (it ain't their fault, only Clone Commanders or ARC troopers had the strongest minds to withhold the orders from being carried out. And the reference to "I am one with the force, and the force is with me" to what Chirrut said in Rogue One was brilliant. And you can also tell that Ian McDiarmid took over Ian Abercrombie's voice when he said "Execute Order 66". Also, that was Ursa Wren standing next to Bo Katan & Anakin's passcode 8108 is Hayden's birthday in 19[81] and the Clone wars debut year of 20[08]. You know you're a Star wars fanatic when you notice these bits of detail! Hope this helps the hunt for some easter eggs in the episode. And just to add in if you don't know, the last episode won't be on May 8th, it will be on May the 4th be with you! :)

This final arc has been awesome so far, but I still really want Disney to finish all the yet unfinished episodes and arcs that were originally planned for the Clone Wars (and probably occur before this final arc). I think they once said they had enough stories (or episodes) to fill like 2 more entire seasons. Some character fates are still unclear or we haven’t seen them on screen yet, for example Asajj Ventress (, jedi Tiplee sister of Tiplar who was shot by clone Tup, …). Also, I would love to see more of the Order 66 era, the jedi purge and march into the jedi temple and so on (in another show perhaps?).

This episode cements the fact that the standard clone troopers had no choice but to follow order 66. You can see that Rex tries incredibly hard to resist the order but he ultimately can’t because of the inhibitor chip. Which makes it so much more sad then it already is. In all honesty some clones had it worse than the Jedi did during and after order 66 because they couldn’t help it and after it was all said and done some clones (Idk how many) had to live with the guilt and pain of the horror they have committed. It’s not their fault.

Such an amazing episode and family reaction. I love the fact that they had Hayden Christensen, with the scene straight form the movie then added Hayden on the last line. Yes, the scene with maul being shot at in the hall way was a reference to the darth Vader scene from rouge one. In the Ashoka novel it said she never met Anakin again but we're going to have to wait and see. Amazing video and remember the force will be with you always.

Cool little fact is that the code ahsoka uses to access fives files 8108 was the release date of the original clone wars movie 12 years ago!! And yes the vision before order 66 was a mix of Hayden and Matt with Matt saying the line at the end “what have I done”. Cool way to mash the two worlds together!!
@DavidA202004 жыл бұрын
Rex might rationalize him not turning on his Jedi because he did everything he could even when order 66 was commenced to try to resist as much as possible to get information to her to save him and her. And he probably wants no memory of being a commander so he probably takes the title captain again after all this is said and done because his best time in the war was a captain. I get there’s some cannon discrepancies but maybe we’ll get some answers and episode 12. And yes it was a mix everything up until “what have I done was” Hayden. The only line that was Matt Lanter and that was “what have I done”. Matt Lanter has a deeper voice. To be fair Asoka was a horrible character for much of the first season. I really didn’t start to like her as a character until about midway through season three. I think the Mortis arc is actually what made me love Ashoka’s character.

This show reminded me of Alfred Hitchcocks lesson in tension. If you have a scene where 2 people are eating and a bomb goes off under the table, you have a couple seconds of shock and surprise. But, if you tell the audience that a bomb will go off under the table in 5 minutes, you get 5 minutes of suspense as they anxiously wait for the explosion. The way they handled Order 66 in this series is a perfect example of this rule.

People didn't like Ahsoka in the first season because she was arrogant and a pain in the arse. the kind of teenager that gets on everyones nerves. But after that they really developed her character into someone everyone fell in love with. She matured and grew. She out grew even the Jedi. Ahsoka Tano is how a character should be written and developed. She has a place in Star Wars now right beside Anakin and Luke Skywalker and that's saying something.
