@@ExpeditionThemePark exactly. It’s like the one game I would pay for. Ironically I turned my game into a business and made real money off of it. I would buy sell and trade the cards and items and combo bundles of these things on eBay. Or create a character with special names and sell them bc the name is taken and someone wanted it. Etc. I was a hustler for a 10-14 year old. I loved it and I had all the rare coveted items and if for some reason my account was banned then I had several backups. My name was Bubbles. More ironically: I’ve never had the chance to go to any Disney park. I started from scratch and built from there. Which wasn’t too hard bc there were still plenty of people who would visit the parks and get the cards or whatever and then sell them on eBay too bc they knew that they wouldn’t be playing the game at home.

Absolutely loved this game when I was little. I remember when I first stumbled upon it and didn't stop playing it until closing day. Closing day was a sad day, because of how attached all of the users had been to the game (including myself). Honestly closing day felt exactly like if you watched the real Disneyland close. It's funny how such a simple little game can impact so many people, and even though it is still sad and disappointing to this day that it closed, it makes sense that it would since it was started in the first place to celebrate the 50th anniversary, I think the most disappointing part about it closing though, is Disney never used the concept again and just abandoned something that so many young people actually loved. Thank you for bringing me down memory lane. Definitely was awesome to see things I haven't seen in years and years.

It would be really cool to see an expedition on this fan created projected to recreate Disney World.
@DaBoweh4 жыл бұрын
@@kingposeidon4535 Palace Network got a rebrand when they absorbed a couple other server teams and disneyland/universal studios was integrated. Used to be called MCMagic. I've had some creative builds featured there before, most notably a functional version of the original pavilion-sized Discovery Mountain, complete with the 20k leagues restaurant and attractions for From the Earth to the Moon and Journey to the center of the Earth. Their creative server's infrastructure has been unstable for a long time now, though, due to supporting a dozen different versions and not being totally reset since 1.12 released, but hey, the park maps still do. A lot of the rides are faithfully done and everything's synced up with audio, though the team can only do so much and you'll find various areas of the parks that have seen renovations in the real world, but not on Palace, that sort of thing. It's still about as close to the real deal as you can get in a digital client.

That way there were more ghosts to vacuum up and more potential points to be gained per game. Also, I think you got the same 5 points (or however many) in the Jungle Cruise game regardless of how well you did, so I'd just speed through to get it overwith and get my points, lol.

my whole family, even grandma, would play together several nights a week with our friends that lived to far away to see often. we’d all be on a phone call while working on quest meeting at the real disneland to do quest, great memories, an awesome service for disney to give out free.

You can still play VMK! There’s a player made private server called MyVMK at myvmk.com - it has been around for close to 10 years and has tons of players and updates.

For anyone who wants to experience an actual virtual Disney World park built to scale, the Minecraft server called The Palace Network is explorable to any person who owns java Minecraft. You can walk around, ride rides, play minigames, etc.

I also remember a Pirates of the Caribbean online game from Disney, and a Tinkerbell Fairies one. Both of which were... fine, I guess? I liked that Pirates one more

Man, this was my childhood from like 4th grade-7th grade. Towards the end of VMK's life, I decided to get together a musical chairs game, with the prize being some rare hats that I had, with entry being that they had to pay with their rare hat (I think I had the pirate hat at the time that was worth a bunch). Suffice it to say, I booked it with a bunch of rare hats in my inventory, while being chased down by a moderator. I logged, and a few weeks later, VMK closed. Phew, such good times, great memories lmao.

I’m definitely looking forward to this new series! I spent more time playing Adventures in the Magic Kingdom as a kid than actually going to the Disney theme parks.

VMK was my life after I came home from school. I remember raiding Apple Jacks cereal boxes for pirate magic codes in the beta days. Missed my chance for a here from day 1 badge with myvmk but glad that it's still going strong.

I spent so much time building my own version of the Kali River Rapids in my player home. I spent too much money on the VMK cards back in the day but I don't regret it!

The inclusion of what sounded like music from “Adventures in the Magic Kingdom”, the old NES game, at the end filled me with joy
