@@thedocilefish But drinking from one large vessel is faster than drinking from many small vessels. You could also presumably pick up multiple at a time and chuck them in the bowl. It would depend on where the vinegar is and where you start. Statistically, you would have to drink an average of half of the total shots one at a time. If, however, you took two in each hand to pour into the bowl you'd essentially have them all in the bowl in the time it would take to drink a quarter of the shots. Now you chug the bowl which would depend on your chugging ability. I'd say for the average person, it would still be faster to go one-by-one, but for someone who isn't bothered by foul tastes and can chug reasonably well, the bowl method might be faster. Definitely a Rhod move.

​@@colinbrown7947 Vinegar is weaker than stomach acid, but pH isn't the sole factor in determining damage to the body, volume is important too. pH is just the concentration (or power) of Hydrogen in a solution, meaning a weaker acid (higher pH) can actually have more hydrogen ion transference (i.e. "damage"/molecules reacting, caused by the acid) just by having a larger volume of said acid. Meaning if you could dissolve an entire iron screw with a vial of HCl acid, then you could dilute an identical screw with watered down vinegar if you had a large enough volume of it (theoretically, ignoring other factors like rate of reaction ). Also, stomach acid is very damaging to the body when in higher quantities than it should be, or in places it shouldn't be. IIRC there are studies that show that people with acid reflux (stomach acid ejects out of the stomach and up the oesophagus) have far higher rates of things like throat cancer. And lastly, I actually ate myself into an oesophageal hernia with vinegar as a student. I told multiple gastroenterologists about how much vinegar I would drown my tasteless microwave meals in over the years (I was a poor student) and asked if that could be a contributing factor. All of them basically politely said somethin like "Yes, it's possible that that would likely have been a very large contributing factor" lmao. Took quite a long time of having a more normal diet before even weaker acids like coffee and pepsi would no longer irritate my digestive tract

It's from the New Year Treat II (2022), a one-off show, the young man is Jonnie Peacock, but he couldn't participate in the studio recording, so Alan Davies was present in his place.
