An experiment showing the Coanda Effect: A fan blows a jet of air in all horizontal directions. Instead of shooting away straight, the air follows the curved surface, even when starting from a step pretty far above the surface. The air pressure between the surface and the airflow is lower than the surrounding air. The thrust from this devise is up to 450 grams. Don't believe the "fast air has less pressure" myth, because speed is relative. The air in between gets party removed by the jet of air, and the surrounding air pressure pushes the jet towards the surface. That is what is happening. And yes you could build a flying saucer with the coanda effect. Cool but probably not very efficient & practical.

I think the Repulsine used a combination of the Coanda effect and electrohydrodynamic propulsion. You've demonstrated half of the equation. Love your videos!

F1 teams are making use of this effect in their exhausts to direct gases toward their diffuser. It's gonna be a huge element this season, thank you for the demonstration, now I know how exactly it works.

I think you hit the high points, Giesbert. I am of the opinion that a vortex was formed 1) on the upper surface of the craft, 2) on the interior of the craft, and 3) on the skirt where the air is released. You've already shown that a vortex formed on the top of a disc can lift it, I think that a properly formed intake within the disc could potentially have the same effect.

From what i have gathered the repulsins wave plates is for tempratur controll. Allso schauberger was intrested in the egg-shape. What of the machine is put on the top of a egg-shaped craft? Maybe the air current would flow like in the Rising egg experiment?, where an egg is put in a glas cylender of wather and you stir it, the egg rises from the botom; lifted by the wortex. Like your 04 model, just extending the dome into an egg; air travels along the side sucking the craft. Just a thought.

It does indeed. I'm still trying to figure out what Viktor discovered/developed. The Repulsine, what are the differences? Both have the coanda effect. The Repulsine has extra: a swirling air intake, complex wave plates, maybe electrical charged molecules? Is that just a way more fancy fan than mine, or am I still not getting it?

How many watts is the fan motor using? I'd like to compare it with the thrust produced by an axial propeller.

I wonder if putting a shell over the outflow area would increase thrust. I'm thinking of how a skirt on a hovercraft works. Probably not the effect your demonstrating but would be interesting to see.

Bernoulli, Venturi, Magnus, Coanda, and Vortice effects can all be used hydrodynamically, aerodynamically and electromagnetically.

What is it they are doing? Using the exhausts gases to, with the coanda effect, direct gases toward their diffuser. I don't get the diffuser part.. to create a downforce with? Or to reduce air-resistance?

Two other aspects of this seem to be: a. Instead of and or/in addition to this you can also raise the Coanda bowl a little an let the impeller fling some of that air into it from the under side which will add up ward thrust.

This is a great demonstration. I'm currently trying to do some airflow visualization in a homemade wind tunnel, and I am wondering what you are using for smoke in this test?

Have you tried this on a disc with a bottom that has the same contour as the top ( full suacer shape ) ? And how would you counter the tourqe made from te motor.

Ever considered the likelihood that it's not the Bernoulli principle that makes planes fly, but the Coanda Effect? Just think about it for a while...

На старих фото Джона Серла не видно магнітів - є тільки диски. джерелом енергії є тепле повітря, яке у центр-сходячому вихрі перетворюється на обертальний рух. Основою є диск, який обертається між обкладинками, створюючи в центрі велике розрідження. У верхній обкладинці є отвір (по центру диска він теж є, щоб задіяти обидві сторони диску) над отвором є купол, в куполі по краям є отвори через які надходить тепле повітря. В куполі утворюється вихор який обертає маленьку (порівняно з диском) турбінку - турбінка прикріплена в центрі диска. Зниження температури таке сильне що замерзають підшипники (що є великою проблемою). При розгоні проблемою є виючий гучний звук, тон якого залежить від діамерту диска, причиною виючого звуку є пульсуючий вихор в центрі диска, треба розігнатись ще щоб пройти пульсації (тому і репульсин), вихор стабілізується, звук дискретно змінить тон на вищий, потім зникне зовсім. треба розганяти ще щоб пройти цей поріг, далі в куполі над диском формується вихор який штовхатиме турбіну. Температура повітря - це і є джерело енергії. Дякую...

I think that would increase the thrust up, AND introduce a thrust down from the shell. But I haven't tried it. The weight and complexity of the construction would increase for sure.

That sounds fascinating! Unknown territory to me. Electrostatic propulsion, will become big, I think. Rotating wings... that is old stuff! (although the efficiency of a wing is very hard to beat)

G you are almost getting it, definitely missing the second outer layer wider at the top and narrower at the bottom and the schauberger chamber you mentioned, the wavy plates and this is where everybody fails...dang I'm revealing my observation after 7 books reading!!...But I think you are awesome and I can't replicate myself right know, so the plates must counter rotate, wide at the center narrower at the perimeter, then those godforsaken boomerang like gills making the compressed air explode

Ah, thanks for correcting my text, I did mean 'because', not became. Speed is relative. A measure of how much the distance between two changes in time. Speed is not a property of a volume of gas, and thus has no connection to gas pressure. For example: the speed of the Earth's atmosphere relative to an other planet can be extremely high, but luckily does speed have no effect on gas pressure.

yea, like tommy said...what if we could generate the same flow characteristics with electrons or magnetic lines of force? Then possibly we could repel surface charges or surface magnetic fields to produce lift in that manner... very interesting stuff

Just a small cheap smoke machine, for use at parties. The smoke is not harmful, but it is far from healthy. It works very well though. Water vapor for example, didn't not work well in my settings. Have not tried dry ice yet.

and yes, the friction ionizes the air hence the copper and silver combination to increase the organic vacuum, yes there is evidence Tesla recreated this vacuum with high voltages same setting the thing supposed to give up blue glow and antigravitiy due to ionic action, doesn't sound that esoteric anymore haa? continue on please will find the link with the gentleman doing the tesla setting, difficult to find...good luck!

Do these plates work with the resonance of the air? Anyhow, the result is 'just' like an airpump..? I guess I should go read 7 books :-) I do now that on average, we know very little about air, I guess because it is invisible!

What type of fan was used here? What was the configuration, shape, etc?

To compare, you would need to take in account the amount of air that is being accelerated, and such. This is 1000W with a very small fan, and produces ony 450gr thrust. Compare it to a pure jet engine standing still on the ground; not very efficiënt.

Hello Giesbert, how are you? I hope you can read this comment, you can greatly improve that project, that centrifugal turbine has to have magnetic bearings, that is a key point, 99 percent efficiency, without friction, that is very low consumption, and if you want to improve even more the things instead of using centrifugal force, that was the first thing that was used, in the first ships, later they realized that the magnetic centrifugal force is even better, you do it in a couple of ways, there are more things too, I can tell you, big hug

And B. consider and begin measuring what are the ELECTRICAL effects of spinning all that moving air across the bowl. AA metal bowl? Painted or raw metal? Aluminum? Opper? What charges build up where? Because I belie e the main thing is that when enough electrons are driven off, the positively charged craft is repelled by eart. EARTH DOES MOT ALLOW SIGNIFICANT MASS OF POSITIVELY CHARGED MATTER TO STAY. the proof is that you can't find anything on earths surface that IS of significant size that

Throwing this out there. Has anyone thought of making a s.e.g. or searl effect generator big enough to power a suacer in this configuration ? To generate enough power to charge batteries that power the craft.

Checkout patent 6497553 . It explains the vortex this creates. But the vortex thruster developed by Univ. of Houston had no moving parts, only compressed air and swirlers. www.ultralightamerica.com/images/EDAV/Vortex-Thruster.gif

its not supposed to suck in air. Theyre doing it wrong and should be done with magnets inside and encapsulated and the resulting charge builds up around the craft and around it. After it is charged you can accelerate and decelerate in the desired direction. Pilot sits around a column which is in the middle.
