Here's how the coffee roaster puzzle works, for those who are confused: The temperature is higher than 180, which is the sum of the triangle. It's also less than 500. The first digit is half of the second digit, which is one more than the third digit. The only three numbers that fit the bill between 180 and 500 are 243, 365, and 487. The sign says "This is coffee in its prime" with the word "prime" highlighted. 487 is the only one of the three options that's a prime number.

I love that parts of Jesse's introductory monologue here are more or less what she says in the first minutes of Control, but it's just blurted out in a couple of sentences and sounds wonky as hell. In other words, perfect for a low-budget TV show.

Omg are you me? I know it was a long shot to wish for this in an Alan Wake DLC, but goddamn I miss Emily Pope so much. I need more Director Faden and her new Head of Research Emily Pope. Their dynamic was one of the best things about Control.

It is true that coffee has some unexpected health benefits. Regular coffee drinkers have lower rates of Parkinson’s disease, for reasons that are not entirely clear - although, to be honest, it’s the caffeine that decreases your odds of Parkinson’s disease, and not the coffee, coffee is the most common method by which people ingest Caffeine.

I don't think The Sibling is supposed to be the real Jesse. She's more like the first draft version. My reading of these stories is that they're Alan's failed attempts to create a hero to rescue him. This was attempt #1 with Jesse. Control was attempt #2.

Yes and no cause Alan has the ability to influence events based on what he sees while in The Dark Place but doesn't have the ability to completely rewrite history....well that was the case until Scratch tried to straight up kill Logan which I can't decide on wether or not would have actually happened since the main story is a loop itself and Logan is always alive in the beginning. Either way these episodes are screenplays Alan would have written while in The Dark Place for sure but it seems that some elements of these episodes do hold true elements like Rose receiving "messages" from Alan in random places and Jesse looking for Dylan with Polaris. That said, I think it's save to say Alan never kissed Rose (I hope) and Jesse didn't find her brother until the events of Control (and maybe encountered some weird coffee based entities it's not entirely impossible). The interesting thing to me that indicates these are all attempts to get him out of The Dark Place is that they all end the moment the find Alan which is too simple for Alan and doesn't ring "true" to his writings or even his previous stint on Night Springs. Time Breaker though, that's a whole other story

@@datguyuno98 With Logan and changing the past in general, I'm of the mind that you're not actually changing the past, instead you're shifting the current world and people's memories so they think that fake past is actually true. It's then why parautilitarians like Saga and the Andersons could see through the story as they remembered the proper past, and in Control why Jesse remembers Tom Zane as a poet (though that's more contentious). Agreed on the final point, though. There was something wrong with each of the stories that meant they couldn't come true. Whether it be because they were too "simple" or because of what you implied at the start, that Alan is only nudging events and not creating things. Completely changing who Jesse's brother is, for example, was clearly breaking the rules.
