Congrats on picking up the 2016 Rio black ring Phil, I have noticed that there seems to be more 2016 Olympic coins around of late, nice Eternal Flame & gold poppy, a cool bunch of corporate coins, my only $2 hunt this week returned a 2020 Olympic Resilience & Paralympic, dark green Matilda, crispy Invictus and a 1998 rim cud, thanks for all the coin news, the Bluey coin story was interesting, don't you love how the media beats up the story. Cheers Peter J 😂👋✌💥💪🙏👍

Thanks Peter, Seems like our hunts were similar. Always good to get a crispy Invictus in Melbourne i think. Media = Entertainment not news these days i think.

I am surprised the police commissioner said that you can keep stolen property. Very unusual. The thief will have 60 ,000 odd coins in hiding until they are released and then they will slowly sell them off . Nice little earner . Don't be surprised if you have trouble getting bluey coins from the post office as there are not as many to go around now. I really like the 2016 Olympic coins. Always pleased to find them. I get heaps of eternal flame coins in s a.

Thanks Wisey. Yeah it was weird. But as legal tender, once the others get released it would be too hard to determine which ones would have been the stolen ones. Who ever has them just has to stay low for a while and then bank them.

Hi Phil, I can understand why they said to keep missing coins because they were going to be circulated anyway, I'm just wondering how this congrats would feel if someone stole his coin collection. Apparently he is a coin collector himself. What goes around, comes around. Cheers buddy 👍🏻

Hello Phil quite a decent haul there, nice to get the black Rio coin. My appreciation for the Rio coins has grown over the years, pity i never bought the carded set back in the day. Do you think the Bluey folder and coins will sell like crazy when they come out next month?
@PhilFindsCollects2 ай бұрын
Thanks Paul. I have a set, They are nice in the original package. I do think they will sell really well. I bet a lot of them will go overseas too.

My Grandpa would have lost his mind if he even saw that coin 2018 Lest We Forget. If he was alive today he would be 134 years of age. Awarded many medals of valour, upon return to Australia and my Grandma and my mother he immediately threw all his medals into the Murray river at Renmark and burned all his uniforms and kit. He never marched in any Anzac day parade and refused to ever watch or listen to any broadcasts. He had 4 schoolmates and close friends die in front of and or alongside of him and he said he murdered at least a dozen enemy soldiers and said it was the most shameful thing he'd ever done and been part of. He said the whole affair was politically motivated and utterly senseless. He passed away aged only 78 when I was 10 years old due to cancer. He was a very heavy drinker and lifelong smoker. He told me to NEVER agree to go to war and to become a pacifist. He called Anzac day participants pathetic souls who got off on the idolization of the Anzac tradition and that they all had tiny willies. Cheers.

Thanks For sharing. I have no doubt that there were many like your Grandpa. I think War effects everyone differently and they all feel the experience differently. All responses are valid to those that have lived through such an ordeal.
