That is why you need a wind shield for your ride. In cold weather it makes the ride easier to take. Also get yourself a ski-doo helmet with heated visor.

Definitely second the windshield . I made one out of lexan for my mini buggy. I used to race in a mini buggy/utv class and I did a half windscreen just so I didn't catch anymore rocks to the chest. Also make sure you get the better lexan the cheap clear plastic shatters from impacts.

Huge difference! The difference it's makes on my sleds is night/day. My first performance sled I picked up on my way up north, im a Michigan man myself, unloaded it, made it about 3 miles down the road towards the trail head and turned around. That was 10yrs ago in my mid-20's. That wind hits hard!

Pro Recovery tip. Next time when your winching from the front, set a spare tire straight up underneath the winch line right in front of the stuck vehicle. The reason the SxS got stuck is because the wheels were so deep and suctioned to the mud. By setting a spare tire underneath not only are pulling the SxS but your lifting it and helping those small tires climb up and out.

As an offroader who has been stuck in soft sand, next time try hooking you tow line to the top of the roll cage of the pulling car. It helps to lift the stuck vehicle out of the hole.

As a canadian whos been dealing with -65F temps lately, I am sitting here wishing I was there lmao. But I am also a realistic person who can understand that those temps are going to feel incredibly cold to someone used to florida weather. So kudos for enjoying the trip despite the temps! Awesome video Cleet. I know its not what the channel is known for but getting a nice multi day trail ride and camping video is awesome, love these. More people need to go camping and hiking in the snow/cold. Maybe not -20 but still, lol. When I was looking into a lot of bushcraft stuff, I found a video of a bunch of guys toboggan hiking around the Michigan/Canada border in a nature preserve or something up there. Several of them slept in a Seek Outdoors teepee with a a Seek Outdoors stove, one made a snow shelter, and one just dug a trench and slept in it in a bivy bag. After camp was set up they unloaded their toboggans and went sledding, lol. A bunch of 30-60 year old guys sledding, lol. Looked like a hell of a weekend to me.

I used to do a lot of snowmobiling in northern michigan. Had a bad ass sled right before i got out of the sport . 2006 Arctic Cat F7. 140Hp with motocross suspension. It was a blast. We'd ride hundreds of miles in a day. We all grew up and the group got smaller over the years so I got out of the sport. Those tents were pretty cool. We rented a cabin or 2 for a week and would ride across the UP or hit the Hilly northern lower near Gaylord. Loved riding those trails with hills more than the flat UP. One year we loaded a tractor trailer full of 8 sleds and drove all the way to the tip of the U.P. 12 hours from Detroit because the snow was nowhere to be found until we got that far north.

Above 20 it's not bad, but below that, there's nothing fun to me about doing something like this... at least a snowmobile has heated grips and so on and a shield but still hard pass.

Once it gets to around 5 or so anything colder doesn't feel any different it's all just fn' cold. Now throw some wind in there and that makes all the difference. Also as a Minnesotan I spent a week in Houston in August and give me winter any day over that.
