NGL there aren't a lot of fast cars there. I think Cleetus the Nova and 2 other Trucks dipped in the 8second range thats about it. Maybe if the even had 2x the amount of drag entries they have I could see them spending the money for prep but it is what it is.

@@Not_Hans On a Friday night test and tune, the tracks here always use VHT. It's not a ton of money to do. Those cars that weren't getting in the 8s could have been getting in the 8s. Track prep matters even on a 10 sec car.

You have to do every thing through them if you want to host an event this includes setting up prep for the strip at least thats what i've been told by a few local events that we've had at the strip. There are literally 0 mom and pop drag strips in Las Vegas.

@@built6468 All it takes on that tune is for the traction issues to be worked out, and he's high 7s with no problem at all. From there it's a matter of keeping things in balance without leaning out, and high 6's aren't that far away. Definitely getting the traction issues remedied goes a long way to anything drastic, though.

This shit ass track won’t take a faster pass . He doesn’t need more fuel if he could go 1.15 in 60 and not spin 3 times in a run he would have been running mid 7s . That’s would also be 3 to 3.5 seconds less total wide open throttle , so less fuel burned .

I'll give you a little tip- If the track looks like glass, like a bowling alley, it's because it's been sprayed with VHT. VHT is like glue, it'll pull your shoes off if your shoes aren't tied tightly.

Every time Cleetus has been to Vegas, the prep has sucked. For some reason, they do not get the track good and sticky like Bradenton or others.

@@Bandit-zq1uf I don't disagree with your comment exactly but the fact that one car hooks and not another does not mean the track is good. It all depends on the power put down and the amount of tire and contact to the surface, you know that. I've seen and raced my share of tracks in my time and that track was definitely not prepped for such runs. What I think they should have done was have a lane for slicks and a lane for street tires or better yet, have the street tires cars race first, prep the track and then run the slicks.

Texas Speed is amazing with building LS motors, but there's a limit to what an LS can do. Mullet weighs too much to run 6s with an LS.

It runs 7s amazingly. It won't run 6s consistently.

It's easier to go 6.50 on a 4000hp motor turned down to 3000, than a 2500hp motor turned up to 3000. It's cheaper and less maintenance, once you get over the $50k price difference in the beginning. If you're winning events it's worth it though, or SMR wouldn't be in business.

@@leftyeh6495 I thought the LS was pointless for Mullet with his goal to go 6's. The only good reason to start with the LS is to save up money or because he was waiting on a big block. When Kevin built the car, they said it would have the 427 LS but could accept a big block. SMR has the new billet LS coming out, but I'm glad to hear Cleetus say they are going big block. $89k is a lot for the new SMR LS and they haven't even built one of them yet. We all knew Cleetus would push as far as he could, so as they say, there is no replacement for displacement.

It looked like it was only a problem on the test hits. Probably just have to MAKE SURE that it seats well when he closes it before a run. Not a problem at all during the three back-to-back pulls.
