Great video. I like the thorough explanation. I've owned this tent for two years and you showed me a couple new tricks. I really like this tent so much. Its big and simple to put up. My only knock is that during late season camping this tent is to well ventilated. There is no way to stop the wind completely from coming in. A couple of times I had the opening/door lined up with the prevailing winds and was freezing my butt off. I rotated the tent and that helped out. I would still recommend this tent for size, the easy and simple set up and the overall bomb-proof of the poles.
@RedBranchBushcraft3 жыл бұрын
agreed, great comment, thanks
@Ssm280Ай бұрын
Another thing with the door, if the wind is side ways you will have the door opening alone all the time and can break it! . You could close it with the zip and will be strong, but the great thing about that door is how easy you get in and out and for that it has to be unzip d. You can see that happen in your other video in your house yard 👍 I used a carabiner to deal with the wind in the door, but only works at certain wind speed.

I am wondering to buy either this or octagon 8 blackout. my concern is that blackout can get super hot in the summer but on the other hand, getting woken up with the sunrise also doesn't sound great. is this tent getting super bright or does the walls actually cover from the sunlight a bit?
@RedBranchBushcraft9 ай бұрын
Super bright, which is nice during the day, but not at 4 am
@Ssm280Ай бұрын
I have a OctagoneBlackout version. When is super hot if you close the tent will be hot as any tent. But if you open all the windows it il be ok because the black out will create a shadow inside. The Blackout version is only blackout in 2/3 off the tent. The entrance area is not blackout, and for the 2/3 to be blackout you need to put the divider inside loosing 1/3 off space. Also the zippers are not blackout, so the 2/3 are no 100% blackout, but is good enough! Another thing if you put the diviser if you want light in that 2/3 off the tent you have to open the divider not realy easy, or come out and open a window. The windows can only be open from outside, and if you open everybody will see inside. The tent is made of strong and good materials, to last a life! Can hold strong winds. I feel that is a good tent if you going to stay a few days in the same place. 30 to 45 min to build it. Very heavy tent (blackout version) And takes a lot off space in the trunk!
