I didn’t realize it, but I own the Coletti perk pot and their coffee scoops. They are GREAT quality! Thanks for reviewing this pot.

Where was this when I was in the field when I was in the army? I broke 4 French presses and gave up and just brought premade coffee from home and then warmed it up. This is fantastic and wonderful people to support and get behind!

Sounds like a great company. I usually use my Aeropress and a manual grinder at home and even have an Aeropress Go. I’m usually drinking coffee alone. When my mom visits, I have a French Press too. Great review Ernie

I have a GSI percolator for camping. It really makes enough coffee to share, which I find is a good way to meet tent neighbors! I also have a stainless french press for at home. Love them both.

I like the looks of this and like where some of the proceeds go, however, my Stanley press is great for outdoors and can be done once vs having to boil a separate pot. Good review. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. I'm looking at Stanley for my first F/press. Not that everything about this isn't appealing!!! How many cups does it really hold?

I've had one for about 5 years and they can't be beat for camping. I like my Coffee Gator also but it is a lot heavier than the Stanley and you have to boil water separately. Not good for toting around the woods

The Stanley is the toughest french press you can buy. I've had one for 5 years and it's the best one I've found for camping. The Coffee Gator is just as good but it's a lot heavier to be packing around the woods.

Looks like a great, well-made product. I use my AeroPress mostly, since it is usually just me. I also have the Stanley Boil + Brew press for occasions when there are others coming camping with me. It's okay, but I like the looks of this one more. You can tell how solid that thing is. Thanks for the look, Ernie. Stay well down there.

Can you remove the top gasket for house use? Opening the top with my old hands, it's a deal breaker, it looks like it's stubborn. Can you use the plunge, pulling it back up for a better grip? LOL, I believe their ad says you can use it on a bear, if damaged, covered by warranty. I think I will pass on that test, my luck, the bear likes coffee with lunch.

Nice French press or cafetiere as we call them here. I was tempted by it and just looked up the UK price; it's an eye watering US$108 equivalent here. While I'm on board with the company's ethnics and like the product that's way too expensive. I do like quality coffee and have some serious kit so I'm happy to spend a bit extra but I think I'll pass on this one.
@mbarr10292 жыл бұрын
I noticed it is thick and then you heated the water in another vessel? So it leads me to believe it is Dual walled so I can not use it to boil my coffee water? Big downside for me.

Looks very solid. Even with that insulated space is it solid enough to put directly on a stove or campfire and bring water to a boil or will that vacuum insulated space blow with direct heat. Problem is it looks like it is for putting directly on a burner. Maybe a liability, because I certainly believe someone will do so. A plastic press, no one would consider this, but this thing looks like a percolator coffee pot. Oh now I need some coffee. Thanks Dr. Ernie for the gear review.
@michaeltichonuk21762 жыл бұрын
The vacuum, won't allow heat to transfer to water...thats why they call it insulated. Dead air space, no gas to conduct heat, the vacuum again...
