What a wonderful bit of filmmaking, MrBaton74. I got a much better sense of the day from the angles you chose. I especially loved the bit that started around 23.40, which was made even more interesting by your powerful camera. Man oh man, so many people, (and horses!) so many stories...so much history packed into one spot. I'm grateful that I found this footage of yours!

Brilliant video, I was there on the day, standing with some wonderful people from Margate and Ramsgate, one of the ladies had a son on parade in the Blues and Royals regiment..... good luck in your chosen career son, Respect. Me? ex The Life Guards, and a Durham Lad.

Love the pageantry with the horses, horses and horses and the riders. Combination of spite and polish of man/woman and equine beauty.

At 06:31 you can spot a cornettist from the Band of the Honourable Artillery Company (the one with the many medals and the white epaulette). Most probably a former member of a Guards band.

@Casus Knacksus You are right, I was referring to the fact that a number of musicians take up a position in the Band of the Honourable Artillery Company after their career in a Guards Band

Ik zou zeggen , een stelletje NCO's inhuren van de Household Division. Misschien dat onze militairen dan ook eens leren echt te marcheren , zoals het hoort !!! L0L kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWiZmqaHeL53aq8 [ Colonel's Review 2009 / Quicktime ] Great video MrBaton74 :) Just told my fellow countryman, that we should hire some NCO's from the Household Division , so that our military can improve their marching skills !!! Much needed over here.

Interesting... @2:44 you can see that even the Corps of Drums are wearing the new modern-type bass drum harnesses. Not sure I quite like the look of that... they didn't even bother making it match the uniform unlike how they've done so in the Guards Bands.
@wu_11165 жыл бұрын
From a health point of view, those are much better than the strap they used before. I think the look is just a matter of familiarisation.

Having worn the old type and nearly had the blood supply to my brain cut off to make the drum sit right I think I approve. Its probably stock colour because the Corps of Drums slings are white

Think the thumbnail for the video may be a bit misleading. The ceremony was reviewed by the Duke of York, Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, he appears at about 16.30 in the video. I'm not sure who the Colonel is in the thumbnail.
@peterpluim79125 жыл бұрын
MrBaton74 Thanks. I was trying to find out who is currently the Colonel of the regiment. I always thought the queen was the Colonel so I stand corrected,
