personally once you put a patch on a cut, it's club property should be basic knowledge a mentor should pass to his prospect that anything with the clubs colors on it is club property. you leave you lose your stuff

I agree with what you're saying however what you're describing is how support clubs and 1% normally do when a member leaves. What BD is describing is what 99% and RC normally do. Depends on the situation, if all they're keeping is a vest consider yourself lucky.

Good God I must be older than I realize. Before everyone started wearing leather vests, back in the 60's, a pair Levis and a jean jacket I cut the sleeves off of for my patch was a total of $11. A 6 pack of beer was $1.50. A McDonald's burger was $0.10, $0.12 if you wanted a cheeseburger. We scratched around for beer money and food. $700 for a vest? Damn, these members must be living large. Depending on the club and how many years you have in, many let you retire with your patch. You can only wear it if you attend club events. When I say years, I actually mean decades. Again, I'm referencing OMCs, that, by joining, you make a lifetime commitment. Some 99%er clubs expect the same, while others are more loosely organized and expectations are not so high.

So I've paid a nice penny for my vest....but I haven't been givin per se the colours, I actually paid $$$ for those rockers and center patch after my year or 2 year probation. Call it what you will but a transaction was made.

My former 99% club only took club patches back whenI had to leave for family issues. The SA removed there patches and handed me back the vest without an issue. I went out good, so that may be why.

BD it seems you have changed your tune a bit.. didn't you have a video years ago. Saying we the MC gave them to you respectfully turn them in the same way whole. Also and loose quote. "Why do you wanna have a vest where you can see where patches from the old club were.

My tune is the same. Anything with the club's logo on it belongs to the club. But if I bought a $700.00 vest I would probably want to keep it.
