This is an introductory lecture to the material in my book, THE COMIC TOOLBOX: HOW TO BE FUNNY EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT. It was recorded at NRK, the Norwegian national television broadcaster, in June, 2013.

John Vorhous is absolutely brilliant. I just can't get enough of his genius instruction. His books are the absolute best I've read on the subject, and I enjoy his audible books more than anyone else's.

Glad I ran across this. Been a professional comic for 30 years. You must always remain a student.

🎆THIS IS PHENOMENAL🎆 I could listen to this all day ☺️ I've written 9 terrible novels, ALL unpublished, yet with THIS INFORMATION I'm sure I can write something publishable...YAY! It's the rule of nine! 🤗 Finally, at long last, a completely comprehensive explaination of things. It makes perfect sense, thank you so much for sharing 🙏

Thank you for this class! That was great. The peacock improvised joke out of nowhere showed off real skill. I especially appreciate what you said about the platform approach. I think internalizing it can ease a lot of anxiety about writing. I guess what I'm wondering is, what if that platform is as far as I can reach? Anyway, thank you again!

I tried to understand the first part by rolling this video back several times, then by the 18th time I realized it was in another language!

damn tough audience which reminds me: People, always cater to your audience. Write for a specific audience.

I tried to find this guy from google, but I did not succeed first. Because I watched with English subtitles that keep translating his name as "John Whorehouse"... (john vorhaus was the real name...)
