There is no Scriptural foundation for "going over the books", because they do not trust the judgment of God! We are guilty, but the perfect character of Jesus , stands IN PLACE OF our imperfect character, and God sees us AS IF we have never sinned (EGW in Steps) John 5:24. The Earthly Millennium is NOT a SECOND chance, but a FIRST opportunity for those BILLIONS, dead and alive..of the ages, who NEVER had a first opportunity to hear the gospel..that is the REASON FOR the Millennium..read Rev 5:10 "on the EARTH". Also, read 1 Cor 15:24-26 slowly... Be blessed and ask for the FREE e-book, The Shocking Truth, at radiogoodhope@aol,com

The Bible does not teach that for a person to be saved was ever and everywhere necessary to have had the opportunity to hear the Christian Gospel. Since Adam to John the Baptist, there was no such Gospel. Patriarchs and Israel did not hear this Gospel as the least Christian knows it today. All the redeemed are saved by Christ, but not necessarily by Christology (knowledge about Christ). Paul shows that there were people who did not have any special revelation of God (no Law, no Gospel), and such will be saved in God’s Judgment (Rom 2:14-16; Mal 1:11, 14b; AA 17:23). There is no need of a second chance after this life. Salvation means salvation from sin: God gives a new moral character, the character of Jesus, instead of the old character of the fallen Adam. This new character is love, the universal and royal law of love (Jas 2:8) which is known by every human conscience. Character is essential, and it is an absolute condition, while knowledge is a privilege, a greater chance, and a greater responsability. Salvation from ”hell” is possible without special religious knowledge, but it is not possible without the essential trait of character, love for our neighbor. The merits of Jesus save us from sin, not in sin. If one lives in sin, he is simply not saved, but in need of true salvation, whatever he professes (Rom 6:16; 1Jn 3:6, 8-9; 5:16-18; cf. Mt 7:21). One of the greatest delusions in Christianity is the belief that salvation is just forgiveness, and that God’s forgiveness is an irreversible grace. This is not in harmony with the Scripture. There will be pagans who will be resurrected to eternal life, because they allowed God work in them His character of love; and there will be Jews and Christians cast in the ”lake of fire”, because they did not obey God, but trusted their own merits, or relied on the merits of a Saviour whom they would not ”trust and obey, for there’s no other way”. The blood of Jesus is power to live, not a magic or forensic trick.
