We take on the role of a mother Lynx trying to raise her babies in a wild world filled with immense beauty and ever-present danger!
Join Seri the Pixel Biologist as we try out the acclaimed game Shelter 2, in which we will be play the life of a stunning mother lynx taking care of her litter of kittens and guiding them as best we can through the hazards of life. We'll hunt for food, protect them from predators, and do our best to navigate through the dangers of nature!
Will we be able to make it out with all our kittens alive or will we learn some harsh lessons about the reality of the struggle of life instead...?!

I stood, gasping for air. The air was dark, and I could see 'Dark Fog.' My kits huddled near, mewling for food. All I could do was try and reassure them, even though I hadn't the slightest idea were more prey was. The "Dark Fog' was getting closer. My thoughts swirled in a frenzy of fear and frustration. One of my kits was weaker and smaller than all the other's, and I was hungry the same as my kits. The huge mass of darkness was still coming closer.... I began to back away, counting my kits. A few urging gusts of wind came, nearly sending me off my paws. That was my signal to dash off with my kits, away from the terrifying darkness. I hoped to never see it again.

tips: Kill deer so all 4 can feed stay away from suspicious looking things (like the dark fog) stay alert at all times don't run all the time (unless your hunting) because it makes the cubs hungrier when you are in snow area make sure you don't lose your white cub when scary music plays it means one of your cubs are in danger

3:37 For those who don't know, that is the Lonesome Fog, it says so on a danger list in the shelter 2 discussions on steam. It happens in the den area and 3 tree lake. In the den area, it spawns in the left and right forests to the den and goes toward the center. In the 3 tree lake, it spawns on an island and goes through the marsh area (Near the transition to the tundra is a safe area in the 3 tree lake, it does not go there. As for the den area, it is best to go to the den for shelter.)

It also spawns in the mountain reagon but there is no way to avoid it there you must make sure your Cubs are with you or they will die.( I read this on the wiki

When the 'Dark fog' comes, you can't go in it or your offspring will get killed. All the prey hides when the Dark fog happens, so it's good you fed them voles when you could. Also, for once i got one of the first likes, not sure which exactly.

The "dark fog" is a mud flood, it's what happens when a flash flood goes through forests and dirt, it's like molasses and if you get stuck in it, your a goner. I've lost waaaay to many boots to them

Seri, You Don't Need to Eat. It Only Replenishes Your Energy. Plus, You Energy Replenishes Fast Enough On Its Own. Also, the Voles Only Feed One Cub, While The Rabbits Feed Two. When They Meow Really Loud and Stop Walking It Means Their Hungry, Not Scared. The Marshland Is The Best Place To Feed you Cubs, As it is Prey-Plentiful Year Round. And Don't Feel Bad About Dying In The Intro. My Friend Died The First Time She Played Also. When The "Dark Fog" Comes, NEVER Go Into It. I Did It Once And My TWO Of My Cubs Were Killed. Also Try To Stay Near The Big Tree When It Comes. it Never Goes That Far Because It Is The Highest Point. The So Called "Turkeys" Are Actually Quails. They Feed Three of Your Cubs So Make Sure to find A Vole Or Rabbit For The one That Was Left Out. The fog is scary, indeed seri. If you ever get stuck into it stay put. DO NOT Whatever you do, do not leave the babies. Just stay put and make sure they're all there.its easy for them to get lost in the fog. And sometimes they get to scared to move and you have to pick them up. Also the white icons are other places. The snowflake place is really big and cool! And deer are there to hunt. But there is also wolves there. If you hear howling there, that means wolves are coming so you have to jump onto rocks in the area where they can't reach you and your babies. If that makes sense... Don't worry about grabbing them and jumping up. They go up with you. Just stay there until the wolves leave

And... Sorry for double comments, But once it's winter prey is extremely scarce. I reccomend going to the snowflake place because deer will be there, and it feeds all the babies. More often then not.. People lose they're babies in the winter from starvation. If a cub stops moving and starts wailing that means it's to hungry to keep on. In that situation it's very important to make sure you know where that cub is at all times, many people forget where it is once they finally get food.and it dies .. It will be hard but try your best to find food and feed the starving cub individually Be prepared for winter!

Seri you have to travel far into places. When you go into scent view you can see the tree, the snowflake, and these 3 trees. You can go to the snowflake which is the snowy area or the 3 trees which is the forest. You have to adventure with your cubs there. I might be wrong but I believe you have to adventure off, not just hunt all the time until your cubs leave.

Seri just a few tips: When there is fog, your babies get extremely scared, and if a baby yelps and lays on the ground they are either starving or scared, make sure when you see them pounding on the floor give them food and lay next to them for a moment, then they will stop.

DAAAAH D: I don't think I can watch this. Trust me Seri you make AMAZING videos but I don't think I can stomach this game. I love the art but I'm a cat lover. I foster orphan kittens (we just got two babies adopted together in a new home with a nice older couple) but recently a sickness took two others kits we had raised for a day or two old. The sounds the lynx cubs make remind me so much of them that I take a real connection to them... I know it sounds pretty stupid but I know other people love watching this game so I'll stumble back over to Wolf Quest and Sims.

Seri, that ' coming storm ' is called the Lonesome Fog - read the shelter book about it so you understand. And NEVER go in it unless all of your cubs are close. When it comes you need to HUSTLE to the den until it retreats.

You need to get away from the "dark fog" as fast as possible as going inside the fog will kill your cubs. If you head toward the snowflake that's a good place to find prey. You can tell when you make progress because your cubs will grow and it will transition into the next season.

Seri! In the winter, there won't be as many prey as there was in the other seasons, instead you will find quail or deer. Also, if you go to the snowflake area, you would find deer, voles, and rabbits. But you will also find wolves. If you encounter them, find a high plateau rock thingy and stay there until the wolves go away. Last time that happened, my one of my Cubs was killed because he wouldn't come up the rock. So be careful when you go the the Snowflake area. I advise you go there when your Cubs are as big as mama Lynx, can hunt, and can jump so that they could jump up the rock.

Also, in the winter time, try not to eat the food yourself, feed your babies. Your babies could freeze or stave in the winter more easily because there aren't as much prey as in the other seasons. So make sure they are fed. And when a cub collapses, find food immediately and feed it to the collapsed cub. Don't think that the cub is dead, it's still alive, just extremely weak, and in need of food. Remember, try not to eat the food in the winter, feed it to your Cubs since food is scarce in the winter!!!😊😊😊

Seri when the kits lay down and cry it means they are hungry and if you can't get food because it is dark or some other reason pick the cubs up until food is possible. Also I know this is in 2017 so you probably won't see it but also can you play Shelter 2 again but with a different mother? Just click one of the surviving cubs at the "Family Tree" at the home screen and it will ask you for example "Do you want to start a new game with Solda?" If you click yes you can play as the lynx cub as the mother all grown up and she can have her own babies and it will add to the family tree! It will grow as you continue the lunx generation. I think it's really sad though that you can not play again as Inna, the original lynx mother. I know it makes sense and I would rather have it that way but I think it is really sad but beautiful that you are leaving Inna behind and starting new generations but Inna is always at the top no matter how far down the family tree grows. Inna is the start of it all! So sad and beautiful right? Anyways LOVE this game and you!

I suggest the fog is a slide .A mystery that's staying in my head. How long will this question stay in my head The fog is coming closer. If you want to survive the "Black Blob" do NOT be in the forest!! If it gets dark and you are in the forest, GET OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! If you aren't, just get to the den and stay there, preferably with a rabbit or two. The black blob represents darkness, your kits are scared of the dark and will die if it gets too close to you

6 years late, you probably already know this but you dont have to leave the area. if you are able to locate a high rock (the ones you use to hide from wolves) you can stay on there until the fog lifts. you can also sit idle until your lynx lays down, because once you do your cubs will also lay down. if you are caught in the fog your kits won't die right away, but they can get lost and die.

Seri it's just the shadows of night time and the bird is a pheasant, u have to kill it before it flies off! and if u kill the bird it feed three of the Cubs, also if u see the snowflake and trees it's a new place to explore! But be aware of dangers! Also if you see a deer you should take it so all babies can eat it!

Seri, the three icons that you see in your scent view are the areas. The first area is the den, the big tree. The two others are the snowflake and the icon that looks like three trees. If you venture far enough towards these icons, you'll go to new areas. I advise you go to the three trees and not the snowflake ;)

not night! at the start and end of Shelter 2, there are stars in the sky. during the 'flood/mudslide/fog' (its actually fog) event it just becomes dark and black fog envelops the region you are in

The first time the flood/landslide came, I heard intense drumming and scariness. I was like 'What?' and then I just ran. Ran, and ran back home, knowing that something bad was happening. Then, I checked my kits while running. I could only see one of them, but I kept running, and the flood was extremely close. I finally made it home, to see the floodwater/landslide mud go away extremely fast, then I checked how many kits I had. At the beginning I had four. After the flood/landslide, I had three. I grieved my lost kit and went on with life.

Btw, I also always get a rabbit, and then chase another as I am holding the first rabbit. Then after I catch up pretty close with the second rabbit, I drop the first one and catch the second. Then, I feed the two rabbits to my four/three kits to feed them all. (If I only have two I only need one =U)

There were probably wolves in the area so you should be at least alarmed when the darkness starts to happen and food starts to run or completely vanish also when your cub lays down that means they are starving and will die soon
