Epic games doesnt want to move backwards with descions like old animations. 1, thats long gone, and two, were not little kids anymore yet this community dorsnt understand that and just complains over every small detail with this game. I understand people want ti relive their childhood but its pointless complaining when you know what their doing is a good thing for the game. You can only do certain things for so long until it gets stale and in this case, epic thought it got stale. Donald mustard isnt at epic anymore and has retired from the gaming industry completely which means its up to different people how the game will be played. Listen, I get you’re not a game dev, but stuff like SBMM settings just can’t work. Fortnite has a limited player base, already split among 3 different BR modes, each having Team size options, Ranked and Zero Build options, and different servers for each area of the world. Making ANOTHER split off would just make the problem worse.

They’re not gonna change all the stuff said in the video because this isnt the same fortnite from before. Sure we are in the og map but that doesnt mean they are gonna change everything back to the way it was. Take the guns for example. They probably arent gonna change some of the models because it may look better than the other. Which isnt a big deal anyway. Its just a weapon and its not like the world will fall apart if it isnt the way it was before. And the so called “sweats”. as a sweat myself i can see where people get mad over how sweaty the lobbies are which is why they added ranked for us “sweats” to migrate. And were at a era in Fortnite now where everyone has gotten better at the game than what we were before in 2019. But there shouldn’t be a whole skill base matchmaking mode because theirs already ranked and that would make things too complicated. People just have to except that fortnite players are good while others are bad and not as skilled (which pretty much goes for any other game too).

My only problem with this video is how you suggest changing the storm to the old one for a aesthetic bonus, but discourage the old UI coming back. I believe the old UI falls way more into that category and is also more relevant because you'll be seeing it all the time, compared to the storm which you won't. The matchmaking is really my biggest complaint. The first few days were amazing, I loved playing no bots and no sbmm. I get why some people hated it, but the rest of us need an option to continue to play that way. The MASSIVE player count drop after bots got added is no coincidence.

I am so damn glad that mystic brought up the hexagon storm, I literally was having fun with the mode i do feel greatful for what they've done but a lot of the points that mystic made are so damn valid that it's the exact reason i gave up on fortnite again. And the hud is something that i agree isn't a necessity but it would make sense to bring back. Especially if it's already been done with creative maps like rewind royale. (If epic will listen to the community this would absolutely bring me back i still admit it's good for the most part but if they would just listen and handle everything the way it should be then no one would be complaining other then 9 year old newgens that didn't even play back in season 1 or any other season from the time.) I'm a pre season/season 0 player so when i heard that this mode was looking more promising then OG remix i was actually excited for the first time. @@CJT2It quite literally DOES affect the gameplay, not only making tactical sprinting the only way to move decently fast because the new animations DO make movement slower, even if YOU don’t notice it, but it also makes you easier to hit now that strafing keeps your character looking forward instead of walking diagonally like they used to. I still don't understand why Epic don't copy Naraka options for BR: you can choose Ranked (no bots), Quick Match (some bots to fill) or bot lobbies and you choose difficulty and how many players in your team like a PvE experience.

Playing a whole game and having the last player being an ai is so anticlimactic, imo they should encourage players to improve at the game by adding modes like battle lab and the combine back into the game to help people learn, and MASSIVELY reduce or just get rid off bots in the lobbies, or fix sbmm and make it to a point where there are zero bots, there are hundreds of thousands of player on at a time, filling lobbies shouldn’t be an issue

Its the communities fault for not properly communicating what they felt. Like most of has have been playing this game for almost a decade now, and the community makes the same mistakes EVERY single time theres a problem. At some point epic will hopefully revert the bots. The best part about og fortnite back then was that it was challenging, and thats exactly how it was. Especially nowadays yall should have known it was going to be sweaty going into these games, and its not even epics fault on that end, its literally just how life works. Sometimes the community needs to learn to take an L, and this is something yall are going to take for granted once its over

guys. there is an objective reason for the backlash and its a very easy one to fix but its just that people arent informed. its the engine the game runs on! it used to run on unreal engine 4 which made it extremely smooth and grounded and all weapons functioned as intended. the guns didnt have bloom, the running WAS quick enough without mantling or sliding, AND THE GRAPHICS WERE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! just look at old footage from season 8 for example. it isnt just the graphic style, the graphics themselves hit in a very specific way. ITS NOT NOSTALGIA, EPIC JUST DOESNT WANT TO GO BACK TO THE OLD ENGINE! if you dont believe me, play EZFN, and have some fun because thats literally the best fortnite can offer. depending on when you play you can get full lobbies, no stupid bots, and perfect unreal engine 4.

Respecfully I feel your arguments are misplaced or don't make sense - People think fondly of old Fortnite because the game was simpler, but also because everyone was bad at it, and then they shamed people for getting better at the game than them. No amount of mechnical changes will fix that, and with an officially sanctioned esports scene, the skill-gap genie is out of the bottle. - I think I can agree with your opinion on the storm. As an aside, playing OG made me realize why minis specifically spawn in stacks of 3: It's so that your opponents actually have leftover heals to drop when they're defeated. - Chapter 5 movement and turbo building are likely included to maintain parity with the entire rest of the game that has them by default. Reverting it for this mode specifically would punish players who player multiple modes and they'd always feel like one side of it seems clunky. Like you said, the movement is basically required for Zero Build because building itself is an all-purpose, defensive, mobility and offensive options. - Acknowledging the HUD doesn't matter and then immediately pivoting to talking about the gun models not being accurate is fucking insane. When watching clips, I like being able to date the footage by the HUD, so it serves that purpose, I guess. - Bots might've been a necssary evil to offset people complaing about "sweats" (crying because someone else is better than you), at that came at the cost of making winning feel less rewarding. Having stricter skill-based matchmaking without bots comes at the cost of longer queues and having less time to actually play the game. - A large part of what made winning in old Fortnite feeling special is that the SBMM was either very loose or non-existent. Having the option to disable SBMM would exacerbate queue times, and split the playerbase even further in a game where the players is already split between literally dozens of other queues in the Battle Royale side alone. If you want strict SBMM and few/no bots, literally play ranked lmao that IS what it's for; if you progress "too far up to the point where you go up against sweats"...you either accept that you ARE a sweat, or just let the system work by dropping your rank to match your skill level. I think going to the lengths to you suggested is just asking to the game to babysit the player because they don't want to have to play well to win, but also don't want to fight bots that move a straight line and spray inaccurately.

Ok so you said change the movement but then slow down the storm. That's not og. So you admit yourself that some things need to be changed. Movement is just a quality of life feature. Ngl, I have to disagree with the turbo build and skill base matchmaking points. For turbo building, I dont think people realize how reliant they are on being able to instantly replace builds. I also think that people don't realize how good players can still be without turbo build. Removing turbo build wouldn't get rid of "sweats" it would simply make the ass beating slower. Unfortunately, that's just how the game is, and if you dont believe me, watch Faze Sway (from chapter 1, btw) build with nerfed turbo build. If you're not good enough, you either got to switch to zero build or put at least 15- 30 minutes of time into getting better. As for skill base matchmaking, not that I disagree with it being refined, but I just wonder how it would be refined. Casual players like Ninja have thousands of kills/wins, and some of the best players have less than him. Because of how fortnite is, I dont know how they could track how good someone is when that good player could be smurfing or have low stats like the bad players that complain. I feel like it's nearly impossible to make a skill base matchmaking good because of how the game is and feel like if it was so easy, they would have fixed it. Personally, I think they should pull an apex and add a rank that only a few hundred/thousand could get like super unreal or something. As well as refining the many issues in ranked, better players would continue grinding, and casuals could enjoy normal games. W video

It’s honestly crazy to me how much people will complain about Fortnite when it’s a FREE game. You have so many modes to play for absolutely no cost in comparison to games like COD, GTA etc. And they always update the game and keeping it fresh and trying to please their spoiled nagging community. They could bring back every season and have separate playlists for all of them and get every detail right…and it’ll never be enough

If a company wants people to spend money, they need to be open to criticism to make the experience better. Gotta be honest, I don't think mechanically there's to much of a problem with OG as a whole outside of the storm speed and bots. The main problem with the gamemode is zb, though it's not sweats or anything like that that are the problem. Simply improving sbmm could easily remove the desire for bots almost entirely. No, the main problem with zb is that in-spite of being inherently not faithful to OG ch1 s1 they kept all of the worst parts of s1 for zb play in zb mode. Gun balancing is the primary issue. Why in the mode where you have such limited defensive options did you keep the already significantly more dangerous than usual weapons the same?! Maybe you can get away with 200+ pump shotgun head shots in build mode where you can make cover on the fly but in zb mode it's a death sentence. It's not that it's to sweaty or it's not OG enough, it's that it's not satisfying to play it. The bots don't help either, now you have even less satisfying kills from their low skill combined with OP weapons. Plus when you do encounter a player the contrast is even more jarring because of the issue. The tough players feel tougher and the bots feel even weaker.

Your opinion on turbobuilding is pretty naive imo. I don't think you understand how annoying a change like removing turbobuildng would be for everyone, it's a quality of life addition first and foremost, and if you don't like it go play Zero Build, since you clearly don't use building mechanics to use them. Also making other (better) players worse at no fault of their own for your benefit is extremely selfish. Maybe they don't like the chapter 6 map so the only way they can play BR and have fun is with OG. The reason why all these gamemodes exist nowadays (BR-like gamemodes) is so people can have a better chance of having fun while playing, and discouraging that is not in the spirit of the game. Also the fact that you want SBMM without bots would completely negate the reasoning for removing turbobuilding, since SBMM would get rid of any good players curbstomping casuals. All removing turbobuilding until season 3 will do will anger some people for a time, just to log on and curbstomp the lesser skilled players again, since those players will have never gotten good at turbobuilding if they play a mode where it's disabled alot in the seasons before turbobuilding gets reintroduced.

Season OG was certainly a lot and was certainly confusing, but I think you're imagining people who played the original first few seasons of Fortnite as people who played those seasons, started having difficulties playing, and then never played another video game again until Fortnite's OG mode came out. The gaming industry moved on, and Epic Games would be naive if they thought literally copy and pasting everything from 2017 to 2024 would make sense.
