Young lady, your enthusiasm for the motor sport in genuine! You are absolutely the perfect person for this channel. Well done. The silver and red Testa Rossa, is a replica of serial number 0718, that participated in the 1958 24 hours of Lemans. I knew the gentleman who rescued 718 from the junk heap in Sacramento, around 1970. He paid $1200 for it. His restoration took 12 years. When he was done he took best of class at Pebble Beach, then proceeded to vintage race it for many years. He sold it in the late 1980s. Today , reunited with its original matching engine, it is worth well north of $30 million.

The gentleman who owned 718, told me the year before he sold it , that if someone offered him $1M , that he would take it. The deal actually included 4 other cars including a D type, and a Can Am McLaren, plus (as he put it) enough money to put his daughter through college.

I expect Jodie is putting in an order for a 125% scale one so that she can get her long legs in. Most of the top drivers in those days were fairly small and light even in the full size cars. Dan Gurney's race cars were always one off or seriously modified. (Remember the GT40 with the helmet bulge?)
