Very interesting "Torque test". TMC2209 - 0.33kg - 0.21A MKS SERVO42B - 0.45kg - 0.61A MKS SERVO42C - 0.74kg - 2.35A with limit 1A (see 0:18 of this video) Were other tests done with the same "configuration"?

How can we find torque in N/m or Kg/cm? i think this value was representing the force at the scale, but what was the length of the lever/screw?

You are correct. "torque test" is useless. What was the idea i wonder. That magic driver will double the torque you can get out of the same motor? What i really hate about makerbase is that they take the code from open source projects, but they never publish their own.

I just purchase couples of SERVO42C motors. According to the schematic diagram on github, this desing use a synchronous step-down converter MD8942 which can provide up to 0.6A output. The output of MD8942 drive a 3.3V LDO voltage regulator along with the stepper driver. However, I did saw the default setting of motor current limit shows 1200mA. But the documentation released on github also state that the driver will ADJUST it's output current if the motor was operated in vFOC mod(which is also default setting). So I think the operating current of SERVO42B and SERVO42C are identical (almost)!

thats with everything included, the drivers should be set to actually 1000mA, i suppose the Servo42b and C are just more inefficient, that doesn't mean hes putting that into the motor (thats read straight from the psu) only if they spin at max rpm for the given voltage and torque you'll see the actual motor current value at the PSU if the motor is stepping at 1/2 of the speed it can (whatever rpm) and youre putting 1000mA in it it will be 500mA at the PSU basically there is more to it than that, but apart from consuming about 15W more thats not a very big deal i mean what is 15W nowadays? a super cheap low end laptop or a high end smartphone will draw that that is Not what's fed in the coils now the Servo42C have vFOC which will consume quite a bit more power as it switches the on board mosfets rapidly

What function does the led have on the servo42c? also is there a analog out pin on U1 where I can get a signal for when a encoder missmatch has occured? like the led on the servo42B.

I am new to cnc. Can the 42C be wired for direct control via USB ? or do you need a control board ? I'll need 4, 2x 1y 1z so I'd need a control board with removable driver chips and USB to my computer. Prices seem to be all over the place. I wish I could find a forum to ask questions. :(

Interesting. It would be useful if you could do this test again with some acceleration. I assume the 42B/C are implementing some sort of acceleration to catch up. The TMC2209 does not in this example, but it would in the real world.
