A few clarifications , one Doomguy was roaming in Hell after the events of DOOM 64 and along the way killed the sister of the Mother demon. After her death , he was sent to the planet Argent D'Nur. Two , before he got the Praetor Suit , the Slayer killed the Champion Titan , who was supposed to be the strongest being of Hell besides the Dark Lord. Even though the Crucible was in the heart of the Dreadnought Titan in Taras Nabad , and the Demonic Crucible was in the hands of the demons , he still killed it. After that , the Deags dropped down a temple onto the Slayer to keep him from killing demons long enough to trap him into the sarcophagus , and put a mark on it that tells everyone to run away. Three , at the end of TAG P2 , the Slayer drops down and is put into the sarcophagus because he has no purpose. He is even more powerful after killing the Dark Lord , but because the demons can't exit Hell and the Maykrs are doomed to become Cthulhu like beings through the transfiguration process , he has no purpose to exist , as he was the sole protector of his people , which now has no threats that humanity can't defend from. That's why at the end it says ,,may the blood on your sword never dry and may we never need you". Besides those things , the video is spot on and follows the lore to its roots.

Doom 3 is kinda easy to explain, it's what happens in the background of the doom games, if I'm not mistaken, one marine goes missing right? That one would probably be doomguy. The main character in doom 3 isn't doomguy, but probably possibly the guy running towards doomguy in the box art

No, it was a separate Earth dimension. That is the only way to reconcile Doom 3 with the other games. There was a deleted line from Eternal where the Khan Maykr states there are multiple Earth dimensions and we are not in that one. Additionally, a codex entry from Doom Hunter Base says that the Aggadons predate all known complex life at 80 million years old. We know that complex life has existed far longer than that on our world. If you look at the sky box in "The Holt" as you get to the top you will see a shattered Earth in the sky. It's obviously Earth as the the Indian subcontinent is clearly visible. All this put together provides a lot of evidence the there are multiple Earth dimensions

Doom 3 is a reboot, it has no connection to the rest of the Doom games. That random marine on the Doom cover, is just a random marine. If you have ever watched that G4 video about the making of Doom 3, it should be clear that the events in Doom 3 happen as if the first games never happened. Doom 3 was id's attempt at a Doom game done with modern tech, a hard reboot of Doom. Why name it "Doom 3" then? No idea, but that "3" does not mean "sequel", it's more like "the 3rd Doom game" or something like that.

Doom 3 fits perfectly between doom 64 and doom 2016 but in a different universe and a different version of the events in the original doom. You can see in doom 3 on the ancient scribblings a drawing of doomguy holding the soulcube. That means that he used the soulcube while he was in hell and when the demons put him to sleep, he wasn't able to prevent the invasion in doom 3. At the end of doom 3, the marine throws the soulcube in the gate of hell and when dr. Samuel Haiden goes in hell to get the sarcophagus in which the doom slayer was locked in, he finds the soulcube and that explains why it is in Olivia Pierce's office. The mobile game doom rpg takes place after doom 3 where you are in the same universe from doom 3. Doom ressurection is set right before doom 3 and doom rpg 2 is set after doom rpg. Doom ressurection of evil is set 2 years after doom 3. Also in doom 3 you can find a big sarcophagus where the fallen warrior who fought demons is located. The fallen warrior is obviously doomguy. In doom 3 co-op on xbox, the player 2 model looks like the original doomguy. Maybe the doom slayer travelled to the universe in doom 3 to help out the marine. The reason for the name of the marine in doom rpg being Blazkovicz is because in that universe, there was another BJ Blazkovicz from Wolfenstein rpg. The original doomguy probably had his named changed over the years, but he is still the descendant of Blazkovicz.

I don't understand why people can't wrap their head around Doom 3 and how it fits just fine. It doesn't have to be explicitly told where exactly did it fit but if you know doom 3 lore in and out including all environmental clues you wouldn't really have problems putting it in. In fact it answers a lot of questions that are left blank in other games. Mars in Doom3 was inhabited by earth's predecessors. Doom guy we all know while originated from current earth but once he got to hell and various dimensions - time jumps and skips and completely different passage of time in entirety was common. Doom marine from D3 isn't DS but DS is referenced in Doom3 as the ultimate fighter who helped them battle forces of hell (who we all know waged war and consumed countless civilizations across multiple dimensions, even Ancient mars and it's Praleanthor population which were extremely advanced, one could say even to the level of I habitants or Argent D'Nur) but still eventually succumbed and sacrificed themselves as a civilization to seal away the hell portals with the help of doom slayer who carried on his war with hell, but at least our solar system was safe for the time being. But Mars made into an uninhabitable wasteland, second generation of humanity was seeded on earth (which is us) before Praleanthor turned themselves into the Soul Cube to aid the Doom Slayer in his war, hence why it was rediscovered by Doom marine in the depths of Hell, where just like Doom Slayer, it was sealed away due to how powerful it is. The Praleanthor battles and hell portals on Mars is the reason why in 2016/Eternal that was the place to get argent energy.. Because the veil between dimensions was already opened once and is thin. Not so much for Earth which is why Hell could never directly open portals there but had to travel from Mars all the way to Earth. I mean c'mon people. Use some analytical skills. It's clear as day where and how Doom3 fits in. Yes, Doom Marine is NOT the doom guy, it was never implied that he is, but Doom3 itself is more than canonical and fits in very well and by leaving it out you leave a massive gap in the timeline and canon aswell as some events that LEAD to 2016/Eternal. You need to be a bit more observant and don't generalize. Just because Doom marine isn't Doom Slayer doesn't mean it's not canon. Doom is a franchise, franchise has several protagonists. Even Doom 3 RoH had a different Doom marine. Doesn't mean anything. It's the other parts of the game, the environment and story that are canon, regardless who the protagonist is. Realistic you should edit the title to be The history/timeline of Doom Slayer, not Doom. Because there's more to it than just the protagonist. Environmental storytelling is 50% of the franchise because events in the Doom universe didn't suddenly stop just because Doom Slayer wasn't there in person at the time. Hence why everyone who claims Doom3 is not canon are people who just don't really pay much attention to the actual overall story arc. And it came from the horses mouth himself. I could see clear as day which elements in 2016 and Eternal were directly inspired or started off by D3. D3 was a story of how hell once affected the original humans of our solar system, same kind of humans that inhabited the other planes and planets, just like the Sentinels and others. Even in Eternal there are many references to the humans being split in many different civilizations across multiple universes. Praleanthor were one of them in our corner - just as advanced and almost superhuman. And just like the others - battled hell and succumbed. It makes absolutely perfect sense in the grand scheme of things.

@@RK_Koala One of the basic pieces of furniture, a chair is a type of seat. Its primary features are two pieces of a durable material, attached as back and seat to one another at a 90° or slightly greater angle, with usually the four corners of the horizontal seat attached in turn to four legs-or other parts of the seat's underside attached to three legs or to a shaft about which a four-arm turnstile on rollers can turn-strong enough to support the weight of a person who sits on the seat (usually wide and broad enough to hold the lower body from the buttocks almost to the knees) and leans against the vertical back (usually high and wide enough to support the back to the shoulder blades). The legs are typically high enough for the seated person's thighs and knees to form a 90° or lesser angle.[1][2] Used in a number of rooms in homes (e.g. in living rooms, dining rooms, and dens), in schools and offices (with desks), and in various other workplaces, chairs may be made of wood, metal, or synthetic materials, and either the seat alone or the entire chair may be padded or upholstered in various colors and fabrics. Chairs vary in design. An armchair has armrests fixed to the seat;[3] a recliner is upholstered and under its seat is a mechanism that allows one to lower the chair's back and raise into place a fold-out footrest;[4] a rocking chair has legs fixed to two long curved slats; a wheelchair has wheels fixed to an axis under the seat.[5] Etymology Chair comes from the early 13th-century English word chaere, from Old French chaiere ("chair, seat, throne"), from Latin cathedra ("seat").[6] History Main article: History of the chair Five three-legged chairs around a low-legged table from Sliven 19th Century Lifestyle Museum Early 20th-century armchair made in eastern Australia, with strong heraldic embellishment The chair has been used since antiquity, although for many centuries it was a symbolic article of state and dignity rather than an article for ordinary use. "The chair" is still used as the emblem of authority in the House of Commons in the United Kingdom[7] and Canada,[8] and in many other settings. In keeping with this historical connotation of the "chair" as the symbol of authority, committees, boards of directors, and academic departments all have a 'chairman' or 'chair'.[9] Endowed professorships are referred to as chairs.[10] It was not until the 16th century that chairs became common.[11] Until then, people sat on chests, benches, and stools, which were the ordinary seats of everyday life. The number of chairs which have survived from an earlier date is exceedingly limited; most examples are of ecclesiastical, seigneurial or feudal origin.[citation needed] Chairs were in existence since at least the Early Dynastic Period of Egypt (c. 3100 BC). They were covered with cloth or leather, were made of carved wood, and were much lower than today's chairs - chair seats were sometimes only 10 inches (25 cm) high.[12] In ancient Egypt chairs appear to have been of great richness and splendor. Fashioned of ebony and ivory, or of carved and gilded wood, they were covered with costly materials, magnificent patterns and supported upon representations of the legs of beasts or the figures of captives. Generally speaking, the higher ranked an individual was, the taller and more sumptuous was the chair he sat on and the greater the honor. On state occasions the pharaoh sat on a throne, often with a little footstool in front of it.[13] The average Egyptian family seldom had chairs, and if they did, it was usually only the master of the household who sat on a chair. Among the better off, the chairs might be painted to look like the ornate inlaid and carved chairs of the rich, but the craftsmanship was usually poor. Hello Gordon!

Terrific job compiling the lore into a digestible video. The only two things which I do not understand are: 1. If the slayer had his own crucible and already used it to kill a titan prior to the events of doom 2016, why did he not immediately understand the true nature of the demonic crucible? 2. If the gate of divum is needed in order to get to Immora , how did the sentinels suddenly create dozens of their own portals? If it is not needed, why didnt the slayer take an easier route?
@RK_Koala3 жыл бұрын
These two bullet points are simply plotholes, Hugo even admitted that you'll need to stretch a lot of things to explain the second point about the gate of divum

It also makes me hopeful that Id software and Bethesda make a Doom TV show covering all this. (either live action or animated). They could have a different game each session. There is something i never understood, is there some sort of time traval between Doom 64 and Doom 2016 ? Because it is said that between the 2 games, the Doom Slayer spent eons killing demons and being imprisonned in hell after he received his god-like power, and yet the human civilisation nearly didn't evolve at all between the 90's games and 2016/Eternal. They also never mentionned in the recent games about the demon invasion that happenned in Doom 2.
@djnotnice1083 жыл бұрын
The original DOOM games and the new DOOM games are in a different dimension. Somewhere in hell the DOOM Slayer crossed dimensions into the current one.
@Brucifer22 жыл бұрын
There actually was and its even talked about in game but not directly. Argonaught hunters (Doom Hunters) The Codexes state the priests created and bred these creatures to fight the Slayer, it also states these creatures inhabbited earth even before the dinosaurs, which does mean that after Doom 64 Doomguy did in fact go back in time, then as you know was trapped in Hell and released in the 2016 game after billions of years of imprisonment. Yeah it does not mention the original attacks of Doom II but it does acknowledge hell exists and is commonly known about, which wouldnt be common for a society that JUST found out Hell exists. With this and the time travel it works perfectly that this is the same universe of earth... (Sigh) and yet Hugo for some reason vaguely stated its a new universe, or at least he said he THINKS it is (so he may be undecided)

Its an inconsistency in what is sadly a poorly written lore that constantly retcons and over complicates itself. Like the idea of Davoth being Hell's Doomguy, doesnt go anywhere and is immediately just "Nah, youre a copy" Then gets over complicated with the fact they mixed time travel to the past, time skipping to the future. Which wouldnt be bad if they kept it in the same universe of earth...but then Hugo went and said its an alternate universe of earth...then what was even the point of time traveling then time skipping to the future? Its all bad man, which is a bummer because its one of my favorite franchises.
