Just getting into saltwater fishing and wondering if anyone uses 2 rods for this so you could just leave the anchor out there without bringing it in each catch? I have a 10' rod with a 6500 spinning reel and a 6'6" 50-80 with a 60 conventional lever drag and was wondering if I could use the longer one to use as the slider and have the other on some sort of breakaway line to fight with the other rod?

3:01 I noticed you have the Fin Nor LT100 in the back ground (near your leg). what do you think of those reels for slide baiting and what lb mono you put on it?
@billandrewperalta27494 жыл бұрын
Great video.. is okay to use a braided main line? Or it has to be mono?
@AdventurewithKZ4 жыл бұрын
hey there, it is recommended to use mono, but i know of people who use braid. it will mean you are going to wear down your braid a lot faster than usual is all and that can be costly.

how do you get the sliding bait back to you? do you have to reel it in with the sinker and cast it out again?
@AdventurewithKZ4 жыл бұрын
hey there, yes once you have reeled it all in detach the live bait on clip and cast line back out again. then once sinker is set re-deploy live bait

@jjk16685 жыл бұрын
mean video bro, going to try this up coro on the weekend, how do you get on using dead bait with this setup I hear afew people who do both ,I'd imagine dead bait would take alot longer to get close to the end ?
@AdventurewithKZ4 жыл бұрын
yeah takes longer to get down but can be a great way to catch livies and even have caused us to see kings in the area.

Bit late but what strength line do you use for your brake away to the sinker?
@AdventurewithKZ3 жыл бұрын
10lb mate if in rugged terrain if in sand area I don't really fuss too much
@chrishallowes69023 жыл бұрын
I might have missed it, but what strength line are you using? Also what brand of slider are you using and where can they be purchased from. Thanks.
@AdventurewithKZ3 жыл бұрын
Hey there I use the perline 20kg mono for rocks and 15kg for surf (mainly because it's thin enough to get away with it). And I usually fish around Reed systems from sand. The sliderig is from the website www.slayers.nz (currently under maintenance). But send me an email man and il get it sorted for ya. outdooradventureswithkz@gmail.com

How do you set the hook on a slide bait rig unless the rig is already at the very bottom?
@9tokh5 жыл бұрын
reel in as fast as possible until you feel the weight of the fish and set the hook, dont get too crazy setting the hook since it will probably be already hooked
@AdventurewithKZ4 жыл бұрын
Hey there, i simply reel in slack line and set 2 or 3 times. if the fish is taking a big run one usually works a treat.
