Can you just clarify what to do over a progression that has non-diatonic cords? Like the one you mentioned from the Beatles? Do you essentially just play your typical major scale stuff, but add in the note that is not in the scale? In this case the C sharp? So Gmaj or Gmaj pentatonic PLUS C#?

Great question! It would be C# instead of C if you’re playing the entire G Major scale. Or, if it’s pentatonic, the C# perhaps instead of the D, or just add it to the pentatonic is also fine. The point is, you replace the non diatonic note with the diatonic note (same letter, so C# instead of C)

@ ahh ok. Gotchya. You replace it. That way you don’t accidentally have a minor second sounding note over the chord being played. Really enjoy your videos man. I went through all of them and handpicked five or six songs to learn this weekend.
