Ive been going through a nostalgia trip with destiny recently and found this video. I honestly miss the days of destiny 1. Some of my fondest memories of gaming come from D1. I never did everything in D1 either because i was more of a casual player and only played with a few of my friends and didnt have a clan or a big group of friends to do the higher end game stuff with. But i remember getting off work during the week and hopping on and doing strikes, prison of elders or crucible with my best friend and my cousin and playing for hours making memories and having a good time and some laughs. I plan on playing D1 here and there before final shape comes because it seems like the perfect time to do so. Maybe finish up any quests or activities i never got to or didnt finish too. This video just made me realize how much i miss D1 and how good we had it back then. D2 isnt bad but D1 just had a different feel to it that resonates with me more. Thanks for the video dude! I was the same, played a lot of d1 mostly crucible and never got to really experience raids for example. Played d2 until shadowkeep and was very disappointed. Went back this month to play d1 and wow it’s amazing, lots of people still playing and teaching raids that I never got to do before. It really has been an amazing experience and I’m not planning on leaving anytime soon

Hear me out please, I think Bungie should bring back literally everything from the Red War campaign to Forsaken. It could be free or paid, doesn't matter. But it could help people that started in Beyond Light get a better understanding of the lore in game. And can also tell them how much better the game is today.

I got hooked on D2 in August. I loved it but it was hard to stay interested due to having no context for the story. No D1 campaigns and several D2 campaigns vaulted. I wanted to play D1 to get more context. Finally got it yesterday since it finally went on sale. Got to say while D2 feels better to play, the atmosphere and art style I prefer in D1. I have played the vanilla campaign before, but never the DLCs so I'm excited to play. Thanks for the videos bro! Side note: I was surprised to see just how many people were in the tower when I got there! Seems like the community is still strong.

2:27:54 slight correction but it was the exotic lunafaction boots for Warlocks that was auto reloading weapons for well as well had not reload perks. Rally was the only one that auto reloaded weapons without an exotic but well with luna’s was the most powerful combo at the time with GLs.

You can see the pattern of different director, and probably crew just like making movies that takes years if not months. You go through different crew people who come and go for either personal/professional reason. That's where the main problem arise, you get new skilled people with new problems, older staff and crew either moved on to jump onto another gig for more money or different personal reason. I'm not even including what goes on from the top(CEO/Boss) who is more worried about losing money or not making enough money, its the greediness nature of us humans because we can and don't give a fudge. Anyway, thanks for sharing this video! It's great to see how it began. I started playing Destiny 2 two weeks before Anarchy was nerfed so I got a chance to use it for a week which is great and now looking forward to grenade launcher meta and hopefully Anarchy will be back!

Know that it's a smaller bit of the season, but how did you enjoy the season finale if you played it? Personally I found it to be fantastic, and then the cutscene hit. And I felt, happy. It showed at least to me that the old Bungie magic is still there, faded yes. But man, they know how to make something feel like a spectacle. It's why I tried Halo infinite, because I wanted to believe that 343 found the old Bungie magic and started to reach into it. And then well, we all know what happened there. So to see it again, I considered pulling back my pre-order. But I'm cementing my trust in Bungie, they were the makers of the halo magic, and it seems they've recaptured a bit of it. I hope lightfall will be great, but for now. I can only wait and see whether I should trust Bungie again. But no matter what. Thank you November, for making this timeline. And putting your time and interest into this game. Sounds like it's been a rough ride for you, so I hope that it gets smoother now.

Watched the whole thing, thanks for this video. In my opinion, "old", original Destiny era starting initial D1 launch had ended with the Forsaken expansion and the eventual departure of studio from Activision, seems that was the last expansion where is a lot of old Bungie veterans were directly involved in production (a lot of them left the studio in Spring 2019). New expansion trilogy starting Beyond Light (not counting Shadowkeep as it was essentially a transitional/filler expansion) is so much different in tone, vibe , a lot of previously established lore was basically retconned to the point that almost everything that was told in D1 and The Taken King doesn't matter anymore. In terms of gameplay, game basically stopped doing truly new things (there were no direct counterparts to Escalation Protocol, Menagerie, Trials, Gambit before their initial releases and there is no truly new things like them anymore) and started to copy-paste previous activites, expansions start to deliver much less content (no PVP maps, much less exotics, House of Wolves will be considered kinda beefy expansion today compared to recent ones). I hope Bungie have dignity to finish the series with The Final Shape and start over with new sci-fi IP or at least Destiny 3.

I like your reasoning of current "expansions" being expanded seasons than actually expanding the entire game. I think that mindset will manage my expectations with Lightfall coming up soon.
