Bonus tip: you can undo a character's move order. Simply select them and right click. If you move a 2nd character but want to undo the 1st, you then need to undo the 2nd character and then you can undo the 1st.

Some other tips i foubd really helpful: 1. When moving, every time you jump a space/elevation, you gain extra dodge and adrenaline, this is how you can end up getting 4 dodge, which makes you almost invulnerable. 2. Highlight enemies to see their movement and attack range. Use this to prioritize enemies based on who is an immediate threat. Very helpful in protection missions. 3. Adding on to #2, when looking at movement, they can be blocked on elevation change tiles, preventing them from jumping up to get in attack range. 4. Bosses and vehicles have sync protection, meaning once they have been synced against once, they are immune. Dont waste any more sync attempts!

guys i havent really seen anyone make a video about it yet, but let me be the first to tell you, Fio is super OP and is most likely the best character in the game on Meticulous loadout 😂 if youre having trouble clearing, try leaning heavily on her to destroy bosses extremely fast. The other characters have a lot of synergies and abilities for killing a lot of regular units but fall short on boss dps. There are some insane abilities for boss damage (anything with Burst, for example) but its pretty unreliable to hope you get all the skills/upgrades you need. Fio on Meticulous doesnt need anything to shred (and tank the boss attacks for free) and whatever you do manage to get is a bonus.

This game looks great! I always go for 100% completion in games I play. Any estimate on how long that might take for Metal Slug Tactics based on what you've seen? Does it seem like a 20-25 hr type game or something crazy like 80+ hrs to get everything done?

@@K_C809 in my review video I mentioned this a little. It's hard to say because it can depend so much on how good you are and all that jazz, but the devs said around 30 hours for completionism playtime.

@poplovegaming that's what I was afraid of, hopefully they add it eventually in another patch- I noticed a handful of issues that need to be buffed out (or in) that weren't included in the 1st update.

You CAN do R-Stick up and down to select spaces and enemies on the background.... hope it helps

@Hailstormful thanks, I was able to figure that out- I hope they add a zoom in/out and the ability to rotate the battlefield platform in a patch. Not a huge deal but feels kinda restrained without it imo.

I’ve played a bunch of this- love metal slug. How do you FULLY complete a region? I go into a region complete 3 missions- boss turns up then I’m kicked out of that region? Theirs no guides telling you how to complete it in full- please help lol 🙏💪

@@jakemelvin8473 there's no "completing it fully" the game is designed to be 3 missions per region. They're not always the same missions. It's to give you some variety on runs basically.

@ thank you for responding 🤝 I’ve completed it about the 10th time now and unlocked the true ending not long ago but theirs characters I need to unlock by completing the reign fully. For one chapter it says ‘unlock 2 regions fully’ then another says 3. So I’m confused on how to achieve that?

@ one of the trophies is ‘Minimalist’ which requires you to Win a run having completed 2 regions in total, I thought I completed it by doing three missions and a boss?

​@@jakemelvin8473 Minimalist is unlocked by completing any region (so fighting one boss) and then going directly to Scirocco City and beat the final boss, thus skipping the other two regions

"Max speed" applies only if you dont get attacked at all, though some skills can also force the ESCAPE status to remedy that...

The game was wrongly called "Tactics". This is what's confusing, because at first you try to play it like Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactics Ogre. A more correct name would be Metal Slug Puzzle. Metal Slug Tactics is much closer to Into the Breach than to the above-mentioned games.

@@poplovegaming Correct. But everything depends on these capabilities and the strategy for their use. For example: The order of moves to solve a Rubik's cube, or long-term planning for how to build your squad.

I’m playing on Xbox, played 3 hours then exited game and no option to continue 😡 is there a way to save progress?

@@benhall2501 In the PC version, progress is saved every time you exit the game and even during battle 'Esc / Save and Exit'. How this happens on the Xbox, I don't know.
