The Complete PC Hardline Bending and Installation Guide

In this video I show you all the aspects of creating a hardline water cooling loop in your PC, from the tools you'll need to how to bend and chamfer the edges of your piping in preperation for installing in your PC. Finally we look at how to measure and plan out your loop.
In the next video I'll show you a neat way to check your system for leaks before you fill with liquid!

Great and detailed tutorial.......loved it, especially about the measuring and fitting of the tubes.....subbed before this, but just looked at your channel. Dam!!! You are into everything son.....gaming, BMW’s the works. I am just starting to gather gear for water cooled rig.......I am quite intimidated about the leaks and maintenance. Built my very first computer in 2008 with Thermaltake Speedo case and i7 920 cpu......currently working on an all white build and desk top set up. View 71 snow edition with seasonic 1050w PS. Creative labs X7 DAC snow edition, Orsair k70 SE2, white edition,Yamaha HS 8 monitor speakers, long ways to go yet on internals, but will get there. Really trying to get the Galax 1080ti, or 2080ti HOF white graphics card, but no luck. Love what you doing so far, I have a few months to go before I can build. Will be building a sim rig based upon fanatec Podium 2 on to the Sim Lab P1 black edition reviewed by Barry Roland of Sim Racing Garage. Should be done with everything by the fall of 2019. Any help on that GPU by Galax would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the research phase of an ambitious hardline tubing project in the newly released GEEEK G1. It would be my first water cooling project, so I'm approaching cautiously. I have read that for very small cases, acrylic tubing is recommended due to the potential for PETG tubing to melt-? Any suggestions or thoughts on this? Would I still be able to follow this process with acrylic? Thanks again!

Water temp needs to be kept below 38C when using PETG (which it should be anyway). But none of the systems I’ve built with PETG have ever had an issue.

A tip to add to this, if you have multiple tight bends in succession where you cant use the mandrels. You can lay out a smooth surface, any texture risks imprinting it in the tube. And make your bends carefully by hand, dont make them too tight. And use the flat surface to ensure your nends are perpendicular

I actually jumped the gun and ordered the 2070s founders edition(I guess those overclock really well) and ordered all the necessary parts to build my loop so if I don't run in to any major issues I should be up and running on water within 10 days or so! Going for a Seattle Seahawks themed build with my green/black cablemod cables and a mix of blue/green LEDs and acid green(but clear-ish to prevent major gunking issues) liquid.

This is really good. I've watched a few videos on bending from other youtubers and I guess you can learn something from all of them. After watching yours just now, I'm feeling a little more brave. I don't build several systems a month like Jay or some of the others so I'm not quite as confident in free handing everything like he does. Your rig looks great. I want symmetry and parallel lines, but I like the loops too. I don't like too many rotaries, and Like another commentator already stated, I'm going to try to pull some of mine out before I get started. I'm working in the evolve x, I have a card in the vertical position with a 420 in the front and a 280 in the top. It's tight in that box! I also have the fat tubes, and I thought a 200ml Swiftech Maelstrom pump/res combo would look really good in there. It does, but it barely fits. I can't use the two ports on top for a fitting whatsoever. So I have to go with the inlet that's right next to the outlet in the bottom front. I want to be creative in routing the tubes and that's what I was looking for I think when i started watching your vid. Thanks for your tips, you covered things well even for a second time custom loop build of mine.

I’ve been searching for awhile for a guide that actually shows someone inserting the tubes into the fittings. Question i got bitspower nonchamfer 14mm brass tubing with 14mm ek fittingbi did test fit i could get it in i use the deburr and chamfer tool i got it in jut messed gasket up and when I get it in and the fiyyinh put together I can grab it and pull it out its not easy but its not hard how do I know how chamfer pr deburr yo do

Thank you for a very good guide to help hard-line beginners like myself! However, I must say that as a retired machinist, I cringe when I hear someone call an O-ring a "washer". They are two very different things and one can't do the job of the other. In the references regarding the fittings, those are in fact, "O-Rings", not washers. I found your advice and suggestions to avoid bends that are too close to the ends of the tubing particularly helpful! I wonder if I needed to have a bend in close proximity to the fitting end, if I were to first make the bend I needed, and then cut the tubing. That may keep the final cut end from being to distorted for a good seal... I may try that if I find a need for that kind of bend. I've been making all my computers with soft tubing and I found that my Corsair 780T case looked very good with the PrimoChill 5/8 OD x 3/8 ID white tubing. Therefore, I'm going to be buying the PrimoChill 1/2in. OD Rigid PETG Tube. I honestly don't like the clear tubing rigs I've seen because their coolant colors are either too translucent and don't look very good under RGB lighting, or, if they're using an opaque colored coolant, the color begins to breakdown after a while. Reds begin to appear brown and greens, blues, purples, begin to lose their pigments and tend to turn into a less than aesthetically appealing shade of their original color. Even white coolant loses it's 'sharpness' and in the end, I found if the tubing is color that you like, then you should always go for the tubing color rather than choosing a clear tube and coloring the coolant, but that's me. I have just finished buying just about everything inside my case so I can completely upgrade my system. I had an MSI Z97 MPower MAX AC mobo, i7-4790K CPU, GTX 1070 GPU, G-Skill RipJaws DDR3 3300MHz (2 x 16GB), and a Corsair 1000i PSU. It was all installed in my Corsair 780T (white) case. Now I have an ASUS ROG Maximux XII Formula, i7-10700K CPU, RTX 2070 GPU, T-Force Xtreem DDR4 3600 MHz (2 x 16), and a EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2, 1300W PSU. My cooling system was a Swiftech H220 semi-closed loop system with a 240mm radiator on the top of the case and a 120mm x 1.250" radiator in the front of the case (all copper rads). All setup with push/pull fan configuration. However, I just found that my old Switech H220 pump is quitting on me. In fact, 1.5 weeks ago, my system wouldn't even start up. After I did the paperclip test on the PSU, I surmised that the CPU died. It was then that I decided to do this big (and expensive) upgrade. Tonight, I finally put in the motherboard, CPU, and memory sticks. My RTX 2070 hasn't arrived yet so I put in my GTX 1070 card. I pressed the "Start" button, and nothing happened... I was upset and the one thing that I always suspected, was the PSU. Even though it past the paperclip test, running one fan doesn't take nearly the draw that running a full system does. Corsair created these PSU with cables that were specifically for the unit and some of the heavier cables, (24-pin and GPU cables), have capacitors in them. I try testing them with a DVMM but I can't tell if the motherboard's 8-pin cable or the 24-pin cable the problem using that meter because the capacitors build and bleed and change the continuity in such a way that it just gets confusing. I think the problem is probably one of those cables but without a replacement cable handy, I can't test it. I knew I was going to buy a 1300w PSU sooner or later anyway, so I ordered one by EVGA and hope the cables are better than that proprietorship crap Corsair does. After ordering the PSU tonight, I then tested the Swiftech pump, and it seems to be quitting about 45 seconds after it starts. I can't see that as the reason for the system not starting unless it's shorting in the pump wiring and causing the mobo to fail the startup. At any rate, I'll be tearing down that pump to look it over and I may try cleaning it. Still, I needed to go with a more powerful cooling system so I'm thinking I'll buy the Thermaltake Pacific PR22-D5. The Corsair pumps don't move much water very quickly. They're OK for a smaller system, but I want something that'll circulate at least 1000 G/ph. Thanks again for tutorial!. Rich

My first watercooled system is too fk difficult, I chose to put 3 radiators in a single build, a d5 pump and a WB for CPU and GPU and the tubes need minimum 4 bands, my brain is on 🔥 so thank you man

Is your gpu waterblock connected inlet and outlet? How did the tube fit in the back? or is this not necessary to connect it in the back?

You can connect on either side of the card. It makes no difference. I do actually have the water got my backwards through the block to keep the loop design cleaner, but it only makes about a 1 degree difference according to EK.

avoid o-ring tears by using plumbers grease to lube the o-ring, also very important to do in all water systems

agree with every thing u did...love the vid,,,, but lubing the pipe fittings right as u go to put the pipes in, with soapy water, wont that put soap particles into ur systems loops?

hey, question for you, if you turn on your liquid pump without liquid, and it makes loud noise, is that normal or is the pump faulty?

It’s normal but very bad for the pump. The water lubricates and cools the pump and the water pressure is what aligns the rotor. You’ll break the pump if you run it dry.
